Can I keep these in containers and just do the same every fall ?

I just planted my peonies that I got at a nursery in a pot. Should I still cut them all the way back in the fall? Or wait until next year when they are stronger?

You can cut it now at fall or wait until next spring, they are dead anyway. New eyes will appear next spring.

My peony doesn't have any steem.... 😭😭😭
