I believe in forgiveness, but the remorse must be genuine. As the old saying goes: “Fool me once shame on you. Fool me again shame on me.” Second chances are fine… but after that step away.

They didn't want a partnership, they just wanted the money.

They were only looking out for their own self to benefit them without working for it.

Sounds like the parents wanted a spoiled child that would defame them with partying and publications in tabloid papers and social media instead of a nerd who was a good kid

Sometimes when you mess up, you can’t make it right.

He ran away from home on his 18th birthday. Was he still a minor there? How do you repair a burned bridge? His father said 30% of the business. I suspect that he meant 30% for him and 30% for the mother. Impossible when there are stockholders.

I am truly aware of how toxic families can be. my life was in danger, and I was negatively labled in religion, and by community, I left home at 18 , I have been happier on my own.

I have experienced the good and bad in family business dealings. The best route is to keep family out and away. The way to help is by your terms and not theirs.

I am going to say this if your parents have not been in your life for years you don't let them in because they are coming with baggage..All they wanted was your money to live the good life.
