Given how much a 20 round sticks out, have you considered trying an E-lander 15 round magazine? It's a true 15 round body, so it should sit in a little tighter, although being they are steel mags they will add back a little weight.

Have you shown anywhere in your videos how you added the cuff sling attachment point to the foregrip? Does it keep the bipod from folding down even without the cuff sling attached? Thanks so much!

  • @AmbGun

No, but I'll try to do a short little video on that. It does preclude use of the bipod, which for shooting I'm not a fan. But it gets in the way of field stripping, which ultimately led me to remove it.

@@AmbGun I put the zip-tie around the upper and lower receiver to keep them from separating in case the upper receiver cracks. There have been reports of some KEL-TEC SU16 rifle's upper receivers breaking after firing close to 1000 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition.

Yes, that or a low mount ACOG would work and they wouldn't interfere with field stripping. But they both would still reduce the ability to fit in a backpack scabbard. Hard to beat low drag and lightweight Tech Sights. www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-rifle/backpackrifle

I believe it was the A2SS, a three panel scabbard with a triangular opening. With a 20 round mag, this is pretty tight, but at least it doesn't shift around much. All of my scabbards have been modified, shortened to better fit the SU16c and allow for easy sitting with the pack on. The scabbard I used in the previous SU16c video was the larger, four panel scabbard. Snug with the red dot setup. Easy loose draw with iron sights. amzn.to/36gPs5Q

Check out nutnfancy videos of the keltec su16. The su16 isn't a combat rifle or anywhere near what an ar15 is supposed to be. It's supposed to be a featherweight 5.56/223 truck/ranch/varmint rifle that hits targets within 200-300 yards at maximum, and a minimum of 150 yards. It's a civilian utility/survival/ backpacking rifle.
