Flash hider- the biggest advantage of the flash hider on the 16" SU barrel is that it cuts down on noise/blast, especially at night. 16" barrels firing 5.56 are fire breathing dragons at night. A flash hider makes it a lot easier to shoot at night because of this.

After my low light testing, I think I'd prefer a 20" naked barrel over a 16" with a flash hider. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pnaDxLp9cdmycrQ.html

@@AmbGun Yeah, but the problem is you can't conceal a 20" barrel easily. If you get an A2 Flash suppressor, it is short and still allows the gun to be concealed, yet is WAY better on the fire and blast. The SU-16C is a great gun and with a flash suppressor, it is perfect.

That's gotta be Grand Junction ? ? ? I just came from your year review of the P17, and I'm really enjoying your videos. I too recently scored a P17 for $189 and love it. Took it out to check functionality and the first mag I loaded with fifteen Aguila Super Extra 40 grain round nose copper platted. I had 3 or 4 failure to feed then the rest cycled fine. The second magazine was also fifteen rounds but with Federal Auto Match lead round nose, the bulk pack from Walmart. They too had failure to feed another 3 or 4 times and then the rest cycled fine. I load two more mags with the Aguila Super Extra and both magazines with fifteen rounds each cycled fine... Mini break-in period ? IDK I'm gonna take it out again and check cycling with a whole host of other 22lr types. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us out here, it's much appreciated. God bless brother

Yeah, I realized after I pushed send that was dumb of me due to the fact that Colorado has a philosophically bankrupt 10 round magazine limit. I just seen the sandstone, train tracks and since you seem to be an avid mountain biker that being close to Moab it seemed like a logical guess, all the while forgetting about the gun laws. I cleaned my P17 today after shooting those 60 rounds last night I'm hoping it helps with the cycling. I did notice that the grooves of the barrel have alot of chatter from machining ($189 so that fine), but it was shooting point of aim point of impact at seven yards. Going to try a brick of CCI Mini Mags next couple of days to see what happens with cycling. Anyway, I appreciate your time spent in responding, thanks n' God bless you and yours

Hi there, I'm also a fan of the su-16. An idea for another muzzle concealment device, would be a walking stick or bicycle handle/grip. Then it would just look like you have a walking stick sticking out of your backpack.

  • @AmbGun

Excellent idea. Bike grip would be confirmed by helmet. A cedar walking stick grip with the leather loop would look sweet, too. I might have to make one.

We have a bunch of the Hazard 4 bags from Kato to Evac Plan-B. The Plan-B is a bit too tactical looking for non-permissive urban. My favorite, non-grayman, pack is the Eberlestock Mini-Me with a rifle scabbard insert...great for Wyoming backcountry. But for my comrades behind enemy lines in places like Seattle or Portland, its hard to beat Chrome Industries. www.chromeindustries.com/bags

@@kalashnikov3796 I completely agree but for me the sub2000 fits great in my bag and you can hit pretty far with the iron sights alone. The terrain around me usually doesn’t have miles and miles of open fields so I don’t need anything that hits over about 300 yards. I usually take mine hiking and it’s pretty hilly on the trails here with almost no wide open areas. I also take it when I’m out and about and sometimes downtown which the sub2000 works great for. I can put a bunch of other stuff in my bag and nobody even sees the sub2000. It works for me but might not be ideal for you.

Great concept, but why don't you just pickup a longer, slender backpack that will completely conceal the rifle? Something made for hikers with a non-tactical appearance and color? Walmart sells several packs that would fit this description. Better that it not be showing at all.

@@AmbGun It's all personal preference so I understand. But having grown up in a major city full of sheeple, I'd rather it to be completely concealed. Here's why -- if things get rough, I guarantee someone will grab at your pack from behind or you will get into a scuffle with somebody. The cover gets ripped off the barrel and BAM, now 20 people are calling 9-11 on you as a crazed gunman carrying an "assault" rifle in your backpack like you're a mass shooter (that's how they'll see it). All of your cover is blown and you might be sitting in jail and paying a lawyer tens of thousands of dollars to keep from going to prison. Whereas as a pack that completely conceals your rifle would have allowed you to deal with the scuffle and then move on quietly with no legal headaches. Just my 2 cents as a veteran with LE experience.

Man this seems like a lot of hassle. I have a black sling bag that has a split sling if you want to wear it backpack style. My tuned in Sub 2000 fits in it perfectly. I use Glock 30 round magazines and 15 round magazines. I carry 5-30rd and 4+15rd. That is 210 rounds. The magazine for this new Kel-Tec looks like the magazines are proprietary? I load my 30 round magazines with one personal protection load then two FMJ alternating.

Yeah there's tons of why not's to this video and it's silly. Why not this why not that. A ruger .22 takedown will fit in any bag that can hold a modern laptop. The rest of these recommendations go out the window. edit: kyle was warned and at the very least knew he might need to defend himself. This idea of dressing up like (but not actually being,) a hipster bicyclist seems silly. Either commit to being outwardly able to defend yourself or don't. Disguising yourself is not dishonorable, but by the hoops you're jumping through it seems untenable. edit: I realize there's doing concealed carry, but if you're having to go so far as to choose "hipster shoes" or the right style of bike, then either you're in a place where not only is concealed carry already totally illegal but probably firearm ownership is illegal completely at the extreme, OR the people you encounter daily don't give a fuck that you're carrying... Again, I don't see what is the point. If you're so concerned about your rifle or pistol that this video matters then It's time to move away from such a place where you have to buy a particular bike or shoes in order to exercise 2A while rolling the dice on a felony.

IDK there are several manufacturers selling bags that look exactly like college book bags (that also function that way) that also handle a takedown rifle or shotgun and also allowing for the original purpose like carrying books to allow a person to just be someone not being a someone else (awful gun owner). 5.11 (off hand) has a few bags that look exactly like a college book bag with reinforced supports and space to hold a takedown rifle on top on a bunch of books. I don't see a need to sacrifice space that way. But let's face it, in a college situation these firearms will be illegal anyhow. Or eventually MOLLE stitching becomes illegal.. I think our goal should be to make it so these kids vote for legislation to help them to not feel dirty about protecting themselves rather than advising them on how to hide their dirty "gun secret"... but maybe it's better that the ideas be out there.
