Notice in the video how her feet never touch the ground and she’s in all white with bandages all over her. She’s representing that she’s a spirit and the one who has died. The guy is left behind with all their memories and dressed looking like he just got back from a funeral.

I played this at my daughter's funeral. She passed from Fentanyl almost 6 years ago. I'm STILL trying to figure out (6 years later) how to live the rest of my life without her in it. I have 3 sons, and I adore them, but I want to be with my daughter so badly. Death no longer scares me because I KNOW we'll meet again. My faith is all I have left. I've given all of my pain over to my God. I have to....to maintain my sanity..😢💔

I’m 50 years old & this is one of the most poignant & beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.

I lost my bf to suicide in May 2002. Everytime I hear this I cry even now. She portrays perfectly the haunting sorrow with her voice, the rage with the rock portion, the angst and inability to escape with her lyrics. I'm glad you reacted to this.

Reading through the comments and seeing I’m not alone in the meaning of this song. When I married my first husband I was barely 19 and we had mental health issues. He was abusive as well but we loved each other so intensely. He passed away when I was 23 due to Epilepsy and he haunted me. His presence was always there. I’m just so young at the time trying to raise my 2 year old and 3 month old alone. I couldn’t take the dreams or nightmares as he watched over me. The constant presence. You know a lot of people say they can physically feel someone’s spirit, or smell them, or something significant will happen as a sign from them. Well all these signs were pushing me into a dangerous depression and I had to be present for my kids. So I wished as Amy says “you would just leave”. So I could feel some sanity again. The traumatizing scars from it all still exist but I haven’t felt his presence in decades 😔

When she was young it was silly good. As she's aged she's gotten better. That's stupid for sure. Most rock singers don't get better as they age. They start losing bits and pieces of their voices. After 18+ years with he style you don't get better. You get worse over time. She didn't. As one Critic said, "It's unfair what Amy can do vocally. She actually getting better and better. It makes us mortals look bad. And does Amy ever age! To look like her and be that talented? Just not fair at all." Maybe her greatest gift is harmonizing with herself. Some times singing 2, 3 and 4 parts layered on top of each other. It's creates and amazing sound.

I always took it as she was a ghost after falling from the ledge in Bring Me To Life, she is even laying on a car's roof, like that is where she landed.

The two of you are why I so enjoy watching your reaction videos. It has always been apparent that you have a deep love for each other and you're very supportive of each other. It just shows in your interactions with each other. So it was cool to see the vulnerability expressed in this video. Authenticity. Love it...

I got to see them play live last month... And she still sounds just as good as she did almost 20 years ago! Also if y'all didn't know she's also the one that plays the piano

When this song came out, I had lost residential custody of my children. I lived in Virginia and my kids were in Kansas. My youngest was 5 years old and this became our song. When I was missing her I'd play this and she did too. One day on the phone she said, "Mom I can't listen to it because I cry when I hear it because I miss you." I was like, "It's okay baby, I don't want you to be sad and cry. Find a happier song to listen to." Now she's 25 and when we hear the song we both tear up and hold each other.

The song "Sober" is awesome. Amy Lee's voice in the song is outstanding!

Agreed, Getting a little emotional just means the song really hit home as it was intended. Many of us have had some mental stuff happen in our lives, the important thing is we came out on the other side a better, more understanding person more in touch with society and with respect for everyone. Amy Lee is fantastic. This song is my favorite- so emotional. Another band with a female vocalist is Nightwish. Their vocalist Floor Jansen is insanely good. She does everything from death growls to operatic soaring vocals. She sings in multiple languages and just about every genre. Put her on the list for female friday you wont regret it. A good starting point is "Ghost Love Score". If you like blues music check out Beth Hart "Am I the One" Live at Paradiso. OMG - what a performance!

Floor Jansen Wacken 2013 Ghost love score; a 6' Valkyrie and 82k fans........the entire concert is a musical Floorgasm.

This song broke me the first time I heard it back when it was released, by the pure emotion evoked by Amy's voice. Every time I hear it, it breaks me again...and I want to keep listening to it, let everything flow & cleanse the soul.

This song has been a huge part of my life for about 20 years. It still makes me cry.

If you don’t at least get goosebumps from this song, or even shed a tear, you have no soul. Honestly that should apply to anyone, regardless of what music genre you typically stick to.

"Bring me to life was insane. I feel like that's going to be a hard song to top." Haha, I love it. Can't wait to see how they react to My Immortal.

Amy Lee has the most hauntingly melodic voice, which makes her vocals uniquely crisp, and clean not to mention beautifuly addictive.

This song is almost 20 years old now and came out when I was in my early 20's. It's a song that defiantly hits harder now. Back then, it was just a great song, now it's a powerful song. I can now relate to the lyrics, but not towards a specific relationship, but towards my memories, moments, and my mind. The older we get, the more memories hurt, not just the sad and/or bad ones like losing a loved one, but the good ones also, like life never being as great as it once was, as certain moments will never be experienced again like they were when we lived them. My memories are slowly killing me as I can't let go.

When you guys listen to Lithium by her you will hear pure raw emotion and power blended perfectly together ...

I have had mental health and emotional struggles in the past, as most people will confront at some point in their life. The part of this song that always makes me cry is the "I've been alone, I'm alone!" part. Even though I am now in a very happy place, that still touches me. When I was is that dark place, a friend told me that I was "wrapped in a cloak of love and support that I did not even know was there. Take comfort from its warmth, for one day the sun will shine again and you will forget you ever needed it." It's true, the only time I remember the cloak is when I tell other's of its existence. Many, many people support you without you even knowing about it. The sun will shine again. Be patient and love yourself.

I'm going to be one of those downer guys. I have always loved Amy Lee's voice and this song in particular over the years. Back in January I lost my youngest daughter and now when I hear certain lines of the lyrics in this song I immediately tear up. It's a beautiful song done by a talented beautiful lady ♥

This was actually written by her band mate Ben Moody when ne was 17. He wrote it after losing his grandfather who had raised him. Ben is the guy in the video.

The reaction, the song & the vid is so incredible Amy’s voice is so amazing & the band so obviously talented you’ve made a really engaging & heartfelt reaction bless you both. This song always brings to mind my trauma sponge, my little girl (dog) Molly. I deal with schizophrenia and for five years she made my bad days better. She is one of the reasons I'm still alive today. She passed away and it ripped my heart out. I think of her every time I hear this song.

I'd like to make a suggestion for Female Fridays, Loreena McKennitt, she's a Canadian singer-songwriter, whose music is often described as Celtic-oriented, I find it ranges from folksy to medieval, and can be almost a time-machine. Check out her song "Dante's Prayer", it's from her 1997 album, 'Book of Secrets'. Her voice is really on display in this song, a vibrant soprano with a great range. Much of her music also features mainly acoustic strings, like violins, cellos, harps (Loreena plays the harp, among many instruments) & piano, and woodwinds like flutes & recorders, accordions, basically anything traditional and acoustic. Thanks man for you being so open about the time in your life when you felt low mentally. I'm fifty and I have suffered with depression,anxiety and low self confidence most of my adult life. Also your videos help to cheer me up in a nostalgic way when you react to the rock music I listened to during my eighties teenage years. You say that we, your viewers, are blessed. I KNOW that I am blessed everytime I view your reaction videos as they cheer me up when I'm feeling down. I think one of the most amazing aspects of Amy’s voice is that it can cut through anything. And that enabled her to mix heavy rock instrumentation with a beautiful love song. It’s borderline perfect.

I lived around Amy and used to hang out with her many years ago. We would listen to her perform at Juanitas in Little Rock. The last time I talked to her, she told me a couple of her songs were going to be in a movie and she was going on a big tour. That was around '99 or 2000, and she has done nothing but excelled since then.

I was very lucky to see her in concert in 2022 & it was absolutely amazing to here & see her live. She did amazing as always!!!! I'd go see her a million times & still be blown away by her voice!!!

If you love this. You need to check out Nightwish, ghost love score(live at Wacken 2013). You won't regret it.
