She used to ask me why I never asked her to marry again after I caught her cheating and stealing from me, it was because the trust was gone and I was alone in the relationship so often, being to only one who was in love. This song, Bonnie Raitt's "I can't make you love me" , Brooks & Dunn, "You're Gonna Miss me when I'm Gone" and Tom Petty, "You Got Lucky(When I Found You)" used to make me cry and make her so angry when I sung along. That line "...though you're still with me, I've been alone all along" kills me every time. Especially with this song being out around when I lost my papa to cancer & I never resonated with a lyric more than having to go on without him around. The person I was closest to in my family being lost to cancer at 12 put me in a deep depression. I still struggle with depression and any milestone has been very bittersweet with him not being there.

Same! My best friend and I first heard them on the radio in 6th grade, fell in love with the songs and proceeded to listen to the "Fallen" album on repeat. To the point we both sunk into a depression and had to take a loooong break from indulging in the music again. Recently I popped in that beloved CD during a road trip and could still sing along to all the songs. I texted her and said "Dude, guess what I was listening to." She had, coincidentally, just finished hearing one of the songs. Lots of memories of our younger dorky, goofball, and angsty, teen years.
