This is my first time seeing your channel Sam, and it is an excellent topic. I am a 57 year old American retired in Cebu for a year and a half. I am dating a 23 year old Filipina. I looked at many Filipina dating profiles, and judging by their age parameters only, it looks like approximately 25% of them are willing to date a man 50 or over. I think that you are absolutely 100% right about age gap relationships being driven by money. I will quote Briffault's law: No female will mate with any male unless she receives an advantage from the male. So the older foreigner with a $2,000 pension can offer his Filipina ten times the advantages when you compare him to her neighbor Tonio in the village who makes $200. Also, the foreigner can assist with a visa and US citizenship if desired. It is very difficult to find a single quality woman in America, and many American girls would not be interested in an older guy with a $2,000 income, which is the American equivalent of Tonio's income. So you can see why the older foreigner and younger Filipina are actually a good match instead of dating in their own countries. Every time I go to the shopping mall, I see older foreigners with their younger Filipinas. If I hang out at the mall for a while, I will often have a Filipina come up and introduce herself to me. Tonio can't afford to take her to the mall, but I can, and all women worldwide love to shop. If I want to have a child, I am forced to find a woman of childbearing age, 20-30. I sure can' t have children with a woman my age. If I wanted a woman my age I could easily find one without much trouble in America.

@@SAMLAMB Sam....and Michael - excellent video and comments by you, Michael. First, see you in May, I hope, Sam. I will "finally" be back home in Dumaguete after running around SE Asia and being stuck here in Manila for a bit trying to get some things done and land a Chinese VISA. I agree with your comments - as an explanation for about 85-90% of the reasoning for Filipinas falling for washed-up semblances of men like us (well, me at least - you still have some kick left in you). The other 10-15% is somewhat cultural in that I believe Filipinas are more open to the age gap than women in many other cultures. Maybe Thailand and a few other SE Asian countries are on par, but certainly not Vietnam, Korea, Japan and others would be quite so welcoming, albeit the income depravity is not the same. But even with the same lack of material possessions, I don't think you get quite the same buy-in that you can get with some Filipinas, and that is NOT a knock against them. I think it speaks highly of their general open mindedness to people who don't fit a "cookie-cutter" image that the world tells them to accept. Not to down-play their desire to better their socio-economic condition, and can one blame them? Michael - spot on when it comes to the child-bearing. If you desire children when you are 40-50-60, or whatever, so be it. Your business. But a 50-60 year old woman does not have that option. Truth be told, in the animal kingdom (to which we also belong), males instinctively migrate to fertile females. And the other males (and females) don't refer to them as "pigs" - unless of course they ARE pigs. But the poor boars lost that job when they discovered artificial insemination. We guys can't buy a break.

There are many reasons for this. 1. Many older guys want to start a new family. A young girl can have kids. 2. Most of the Filipinas have kids. The guy she was with dumped her, because he wasn't stable. She looks for stability. 3. She also seeks a better life. 4. She seeks an looks for wisdom an support. The ability for her to learn an grow. 5. In most cases a young filipina can learn, she can be what the older guy is looking for. 6. Her family knows she will be taken good care of financially an in many cases, he will help or support her family. 7. In most cases the older man will not cheat. He really doesn't want drama, and she likes this because most Filipino guy's cheat. 8. She wants a full an stable life. Very simple. Plus if an when he passes, she receives his benefit's. The younger guys are not retired. They have no pension. They want to play around. The filipina knows this game well. Best wishes, good video.

First of all, what is old. Sure 50s, 60s and 70s is old, but not like it used to be. Each man's personal health is different, but most men don't start acting really "old" until their 80s. That's when their bodies don't move like they used to, and even their speech and way of talking changes. Secondly, what does young mean? I consider 18 off limits, and 19-25 to be "young" and the target group you want to start with first. Thirdly, why wouldn't you date a young Filipina if you can? duh. And if you ARE in your 70s or 80s, if you date them young, when you leave this planet, she still has her whole life ahead of her. So you're welcome.

what you are saying is perfectly reasonable to me. when we turn on the network TV , stream TV or watch youtube content, its mostly the same. People want to watch younger beautiful people doing interesting things . And that content with nice looking actors or nice looking couples dominate the media . we are are all " conditioned " to think a different way, when reality is quite different. My wife and I have been married for over 40 years, we have 3 adult children and grandkids, and no one cares about my boring middle class life . Thats why when we watch TV , or watch the news, or watch TV adverstisements, I try to separate what I am being " SOLD" versus Reality .

Sam all your comments were very accurate. It's sad that Filipinas and the Filipino population in general are squeezed into making those kinds of decisions. We in the Western countries really don't have any concept how deeply poverty affects the trajectory of these people lives. We have poverty in the US but until you see how much humility Filipinos have and how they find the strength to still be good decent people in the face of really abject poverty then maybe we can appreciate life more, by understanding the reason behind the decisions they are forced to make.

Brenda. I’ve thought about that. That’s why I go all in when it comes to helping my Filipina. RAZEL and I have been in a relationship for 6yrs. I’ve taught her how to survive without me. By teaching her finances. She’ll be fine when I’m gone.

in other countries they dont date old foreigners like they do in the Philippines, even if the pay isnt good in the country. yes, they date old guys in ph because they have money, but also its like almost like a fad to date foreigners in the Philippines, they want foreigners around them, it makes them look good to be around foreigners. but yea they would rather be with one who is less than 20 years older than them for sure. but i talk to a few of them, im younger, they want me to just have babies with them because they like my eyes and my nose. they dont even want to get married or come to usa. they want me to stop by and do my thing so they can have a baby.

@@SAMLAMB i have never had any children. im just saying, in the philippines they really like foreigners, their families and communities will encourage them to get with foreigners, it isnt like that in other countries. everyone in the world wants money and girls everywhere want to marry up, but i think the massive amount of old dudes with young girls in ph is not solely based on money.

@smittylikesto Smitty, thank you for the comment. Every time I read a message like yours it makes me rethink why foreigners are so popular in the Philippines. I’ve made many videos dealing with this exact subject. Although you see a lot of old white guys with young Filipina. There’s just as many old Asian guys with young Filipina. You just don’t notice it. Whether it’s old , young, white, asian, or black, I still feel the main reason you see so many old white guys with young Filipina is because they stick out like a sore thumb. And when you show that on KZread we as humans are drawn to that. I’ll share this quick story: the first time I had 2 girlfriends I was not sure who to pick. So I’m in a taxi, and I told the taxi driver my dilemma. His comment changed everything. Now most taxi drivers make about $20 -$50 a day …he’s about 35 to 45 yrs old and he said, what’s the big deal I have a wife and 3 girlfriends… and you see those homeless people in the park, they probably have 2 or 3 girlfriends. Then he said women are 3 to 1 to men here in the Philippines, So if you’re broke and have no money just by pure numbers a man should have 3 girls if money was not an issue. So the answer to so many old white dudes with young Filipina. Is a matter of economics, and survival for a woman. There’s just not enough men for them to choose. That’s just my opinion

@@SAMLAMB i dont think there is a ratio like that in the philippines as a whole, but i have heard in the big cities there is a lot of young single women. maybe there is also the fact that marrying a foreigner can give them the chance of leaving the country, i think that might be just as important as the money.
