There are some things that are only done is certain areas. Being so many islands, thats why they have seperate dialects, customs and quirks that don't spread throughout the phil. I never saw that hand gesturing. But I lived in Makati. Phil. is the only country I lived in that everyone speaks one united language, but everybody also speaks a distinct and seperate dialect. I went to use the bathroom when I got off the plane. Im sitting on the toilet, and suddenly I see this hand reaching under the door. Im thinking, what????????? Do they have a lot of gay guys here? Turns out he was pushing a bowl of water. LOL. I still didnt know what it was for at first, but then I saw, no toilet paper. Having no other method of cleaning up, I realized what it was for.

So many phil. video channels now, this was refreshing. I was mystified for a long time with my wife pointing with her lips. I would say where is it, she would point with her lips, and turn her head. I would go look for it, couldn't find it, then ask her again. SHe would say, I already pointed where it is. Now Im puzzled, I was looking right at her when I asked. So, I said, u mean its in the dining room? She said yes, thats where I pointed. Now, at this point, pun intended, I'm wondering if she is imaging things. So I leave it alone. Mind u, we haven't been together that long, so I'm really wondering about her now, cuz I know she didn't point at it. And I dont want to argue with her, cuz we all know what tampo is. Three most important words in tagalog. Tampo, salamat and guapo. So, we go thru this again later in the day, and Im like, I KNOW she didnt point this time. SO I confront her, I say, YOU DIDN'T POINT, I watched u carefully. She gets defensive, and I say, point again, so she does this thing with her lips, and Im like, what the hell is that? She says, oh, dont u get it, filipinas point with their lips. and I started cracking up, she started laughing, asking me what Im laughing about, she says, dont americans do that? I just laughed and was thankful it didn't wind up in tampo, cuz that means no boom boom for a few days. And a word to the wise. FiLIPINAS are as stubborn as it gets. When they are in tampo, JUST LEAVE IT ALONE. Trying to get a woman out of tampo is just gonna make it worse. Its like trying to get a turtle to come out of its shell. Or like that chinese finger trick thing, the harder u pull, the tighter it gets. If u try to get her out of tampo by talking to her, ur only making it worse. Just do things for her without talking, give her gifts, AND, THE NUMBER ONE RULE, FOR YOU YOUNG GUYS, is that YOU NEVER, NEVER, NEVER WIN AN ARGUEMENT WITH UR WIFE. CUZ IF YOU LOSE, U LOSE, AND IF U WIN, U STILL LOSE. And I know thats true cuz whenever I say that to a married couple out in public, they laugh out loud. LOL>

2:20 upward hand movement is considered to be impolite. The Filipino way with the hand down is polite. The same they do in Indonesia. Btw if you want a Filipina to come to you you can also wave with 1000 pesos in your hands, haha. Just kidding 10:25 I think they refuse collectively to eat the last piece of food because it is considered to be a sign of selfishnes and greedines. If you can't share it don't take it, that kind of idea. 15:00 In Islam Muslims also have the traditional custom to eat with their hands, in particular the right hand. And also lift up one leg, not on the chair though, but when sitting and eating on the ground. It is somehow better for the stomach I guess. This is how prophet Muhammed and his followers ate back then and it is still done by many Muslims today.
