As someone who is recruited to be game master almost permanently (haven't been a player in almost 20 years and I miss it) I'd give anything to have every player be like Darcy. She's attentive, creative, and has infectious enthusiasm. This is not to say the other players here are bad, in fact I like all of them, but special shout out to Darcy.

It is actually very cool to have a low level encounter with the flora like that, as opposed to the D&D Goblin attackers that I am familiar with. So the trees produce a thick, sticky and yet acidic substance that shoots out of an orifice, as a means to protect them from "earth storms", that poses a danger for the group. That really is so cool. x)

Ryan Lynd I agree, don’t think is a problem of yours. I am kind of disappointed with Monte GM skills. He is an amazing game designer, so I expected a perfect use of pacing, narrative conducting, descriptions... you know, everything he talks about in his books. Instead of that, he really seems slow, dubitative and not solid at all. That’s frustrating, because he has all the ingredients to succes, I mean, the players are very good, the plot is interesting and he basically created the system, so he should be fluid. But, for some reason, he is not... Don’t get me wrong, I really admire the man, he created some of my favourite games and suplements ever. Maybe this was just him on a bad day, or maybe game designing and mastering are not as related as I thought.

@Baris Parlan - Mathew Mercer is great, but comparing anyone else's DM session to Critical Role is setting an unrealistic expectation. Based on this video, I have a good understanding of what Numenera is about. I learned that this uses a simple set of rules that doesn't get in the way of telling the story. I learned that only players roll the dice, thus greatly speeding up gameplay. While Monte Cook doesn't have the vocal command or the flair for the dramatic (like Mercer), he accomplished exactly what he intended in this video presentation - and gave a game-play session that is more representative of how most people play pen & paper RPGs. A success in my book.
