WHAT IS TALK HEATHEN?
Talk Heathen is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared toward long-form and on-going dialogue with theists & atheists about religion, theism, & secularism. Talk Heathen is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
Talk Heathen is filmed in front of a live studio audience every week at the Freethought Library of the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop & support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing & friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of government-religion separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists & to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

The point is that we have scientific theories (which are the highest order of evidence in science) to explain how gravity works and as I said before we have a Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection. That is what you need to attack to see if you can refute it; that is how science works! Even if you were able to refute the theory it would not automatically mean your alternative was the 'how,' you still have to provide evidence and demonstrate it can stand up to attempts to prove it wrong. Just saying "What if evolution IS creation?" is neither here nor there; if you want to make the claim then you have a lot of work to do; I have seen so-called 'scientific evidence' put forward by 'creationist scientists' for elements of creationism and they are not fooling anybody so far; they really need to up their game!

This is a talking strategy that is actually written and handed out among white supremacists, right wing pundits and conservative christian groups. Keep making statements, when the other side starts to refute your statements change to a related (sometimes very tangentially related) topic and make another statement. To the casual observer it will seem like they are winning because the person is always on the attack and the other side makes a partial defense then switches to make another partial defense against another statement. It works with casual observers because they tend to agree with the person who seems the most confident. In places like a court it fails spectacularly because the person has to validate their assertions but they only really worry about winning in the court of public opinion.

The curriculum that they use is almost always some biblical oriented tripe from the US. I don't know how the latter get away with that. EVERY CHILD is supposed to have the core curriculum as set down by the jurisdiction in which they live. Other addition elements can be added but not to the detriment of the core material. That may be true in the private schools because it is monitored by oversight bodies. The homeschooling though... dunno. I have a set of four nephews who were schooled in this fashion. The two older ones finished "high school" with far less education than a public school kid. The two younger ones... coming on about the same. One of the older ones managed to get some decent post sec education and has a career. The other one... not so much. 01 that we're supposed to be evolutionary cousins to and they're examining the dna here and looking at fossils and the layer that's added to this one is that rather than just looking at the dna they're looking at the dna and then correlating that to some of the morphological structures the shape of the bones and see if they can find any connections between those and a bit of a fascinating way to think about this this is the first one that's been done that way and the conclusions are very interesting especially if we start thinking about these from a biblical perspective that's right so for a long time as creationists we've been saying that neanderthals and humans are you know they're neanderthals are human it's fully human you know the secular world has gone back and forth as classifying them as homo neanderthalensis or homo sapien neanderthal instances whether it's a different subspecies or different species and we've said all along they're fully human and what this study shows is that most *** Are humans descendants of neanderthals|Tim Chaffey, and Rob Webb
