i just bought the upgraded version of this fan from Amazon where they remove the suction cups and now have a spring like system on the side of the camera where it fits in the camera more effectively. I had this model at first but after a while the suctions cups stopped working and i did use the rubber band method as you said but it just looked ugly to me lol. This new upgraded model is much more professional looking.

We recently ran into overheating issues with our ZV-E10 when we switched to a bigger lens that seems to be holding in more of the camera heat. We got a 50mm X 50mm copper heatsink off of Amazon and some heatsink thermal tape. That lowered our temps from 116F and overheating, to about 96F at the max. The video screen will not close anymore, but it's a set up camera in our studio that does not move, so not an issue.

In my opinion you shouldn’t have to use an external cooling device on cameras. BUT, the alternative is paying an additional $1500 for the bigger camera that doesn’t overheat. $19 Ulanzi > an extra $1500 camera (new) I’ve had the ZVE1 since it launched. I’ve never had it overheat while videoing using it in 4k 60fps. It finally overheated 15 minutes into a zoom meeting because I kept it in 4k 60fps. Dropping it down to 1080p 30fps helped, but it had already overheated and I didn’t have anything to cool it off quickly. Just ordered Ulanzi through your link. Thanks! And thanks for the awesome review! You just got a new subscriber, too!

@@SonerAktas Meaning the overheating issues a lot of users are reporting are due to the camera not having the necessary hardware to process the higher video specs without running into this issue. Whether that be a fan or the heat sync tech they’ve put in other cameras, this camera is missing something those cameras have. What specifically? I don’t know but it’s definitely an intentional difference vs some “accidental omissions”. The previous video I posted on live stream settings goes into more detail of what does or does not impact the camera depending on how detailed you want to go.

  • @DianaGladney

I think that'd be illogical and expect the mic to block that audio fan or even if it was next to an air conditioning vent or something. If you find you're in a space where you need to use the fan, I'd recommend not putting a mic right next to it on the camera. It's probably best to boom the mic on a mic stand or extend it off the tripod closer to the speaker or use a different kind of microphone. But I can't see still keeping a shotgun mic on top of the camera and have the fan on. It's quiet but it's still generating noise.

It sales as it has basically the same video quality as FX3 which costs x2 as much and ZV-E1 has better AI powered autofocus. For this money instead of fx3 you can buy Zv-E1 and Fx30 so 2 cameras in price of one and fx 30 is APSC FX3. Or if you just buy zv-e1 and want to use it for professional work you can add a fan, atomos ninja + drive for backup recording and maybe samyang 35-150 and start shooting weddings, whatever. With that money you only got FX3 with build in fan and no lens.

Depends on what mic setup you're using. If you're live streaming, it will slightly increase the noise floor, but not enough to make a huge difference that what you're already used to. If you're making a video and have a shotgun mic on top or using the built-in mic for some reason, yeah the mic will hear it, so it wouldn't be recommended doing that. Using a lapel mic with a wireless setup or podcast style mic in a desk setup, it'd be fine.

I bet you drive a car that needs premium gas (C Class Mercedes) and put regular in it. on a serious note. That fan is no joke.
