    No worries, I’m pretty active in my comments in the community. So, let’s have a bit of a reality check lol You have G.A.S. Bad lol (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) aka you’re just buying gear because it’s the latest, looks fun, don’t want to feel left out with whatever is recent. There’s two ways to deal with this: 1) Accept that you just want something because you want it, without trying to justify the purchase with a false use case of how it’ll be helpful. 2) Stop buying in excess, figure out what you really like and want, and stick to it. It’ll be a process learning to temper your urge to buy, but nothing’s a loss because you don’t need it. Here’s the kicker with either of those, neither is wrong, it’s simply a choice. You get to decide. If you just like buying a lot of gear, trying it because it’s fun and you enjoy it, that’s fine. Enjoy it without falsely feeling like you “have to” justify the purchase first. You don’t have to, and that’s okay. If you feel your camera buying has gotten out of hand and you’re feeling the desire to want to get control of it, that’s fine too. There’s no limits to what you could dream up and create with the fleet of cameras you already have. The same tech in the A74 is the exact same in the A7C 2. The only difference is the body design. It’s clear there’s no actual need for the camera, just decide what school of thought you’re going with. If you simply want to try it, just rent it for a couple of weeks and get it out of your system. If you know for a fact you’ll still end up buying one just because you want it, might as well buy it at the better price. Otherwise, exercise restraint and build up your discipline to stop buying in excess.

    If you grab that 16mm Viltrox f/1.8 full frame lens then you won't have an issue with the crop, and probably the rolling shutter won't be an issue. I have an FX30 so I'm looking for something better at low light and has good bokeh at f/2.8. I could really use 4K DCI, but I'm wondering how those "cinematic" black bars work, is the output file 4K with black bars or is it actual that ratio baked into the (MP4) file?

    Diana, what is better on A6700, a usb streaming, or a micro hdmi streaming ? Say, 4k 60 fps.

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney2 күн бұрын

    It’s always going to be HDMI across the board for the best quality. It’ll look visually identical to what you’d see on your SD card. Even with the fastest USB cables, a fast computer, and live streaming software, HDMI always gives the best quality image and little to no latency. Plus, you can at least get up to 50ft with an HDMI connection.

    Actually I think the opposite is true. You narrow the addressable market by bundling unless it is things like a lens cap and hood with a lens which are integral to the core piece.

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney4 күн бұрын

    I get where you're coming from with your perspective. To me, bundling depends on who the camera would most likely appeal to. If it's a newbie kit and you have the most commonly used/desired lenses with it, it's more desirable than not having the lenses. Body caps and stuff like that are a given and are more filler items that's more expected when you get a camera or lens vs desired. Plus, you can always offer to break it up if you want to hit both markets. Folks ready to buy want the best deal vs not looking at an offer because it has more usable gear with it.

    hello. i have a question, im a tattoo artist wich one of those two works better for me? wich one are you Recomend to me? thanks

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney11 күн бұрын

    Honestly, the cameras won't have that big of a deal between them depending on how or what you intend to record. As a tattoo artist, if it's just sitting on a tripod there's a benefit to having full frame to bring in more light to the sensor, regardless of the lens used. The other thing will be choosing the right lens for your intended use case. That'll honestly make a greater impact than the camera body when using these two cameras. So, the camera body isn't the greater decision, but the lens options. If I was in your shoes, I'd probably get the a6700 over the A7C 2. There's not enough significant value simply going full frame that'd make it worth it, in my opinion. You'll be spoiled for lens options either way, but in your shoes, I'd go the a6700 route and get a couple lenses depending on how you plan to record.

    @JordanPatton-vy2ho That's awesome! That depends on what kind of content you're planning to create and what you'd like to do in the future with your camera. I just bought a battery. Was trying to find the closest thing to the battery that comes with the camera I have now but couldn't find it. There literally wasn't anything listed in any price range with the exact same specs. So I got one that was about 50 watts lower. A minute difference in terms of paper specs, but I didn't want to go above that and possibly end up frying my camera. I figured I rather it be under powered than over powered. HOWEVER I didn't factor in battery swelling. I don't know if that's gonna be an issue or not, but I guess I will find out. I'm familiar with battery swelling for batteries like cellphone batteries. However I would hope that's not the case for a camera battery. I had no problem getting standard Sony battery BUT they seemed way too under powered compared to the OEM battery that came with the device that I can't seem to find anywhere.

  • @DianaGladney

    Deactivate whatever you don’t want exported in the selection by pressing the letter “V” on your keyboard or selecting deactivate in the menu. You can do that or temporarily delete the items you don’t want exported with the A-Roll, export it, then paste it back after the exports. I’d just recommend temporarily deactivating it so you don’t start deconstructing the edit.

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney17 күн бұрын

    Yeah, the 10-18mm is discontinued, but if you find one lightly used, you won't be able to tell the difference. I'd recommend buying on at a trusted retailer you trust and that has a good return policy if you have any issues and feel you need to swap it out. Unless a lens is really beat up (which is very visible if it is), they retain their value really well. So, I wouldn't be put off buying a used one.

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney16 күн бұрын

    @@MotivationNConsistency Ah, I hear you. Let me help ya out. Firstly, DO NOT pay $800 anything for that lens now but it was previously that high for the regular retail price. Now, you can find those around $300 - $450 on the high end. If you go the Amazon route, you'll be fine IF you go with something shipped and sold by Amazon if possible. If it's a person or store on Amazon, just make sure you still get the 30-day return period. Other reputable stores are regular camera stores like MPB.com, B&H Photo Video, KEH.com, Adorama, Samy's Camera, etc. places like that. If you want to go the Amazon route, just check the seller. It'll likely be shipped by Amazon and sold by someone. Just make sure they have the 30-day return policy. If you go a camera store route, you'll be fine because they know what to check for with gear but still check it anyway. Hopefully this helps clear things up a bit.

    Do you need SD cards for camera I just purchased this camera and I’m not sure I’m just going to be using it for vlogging but are these mandatory?

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney17 күн бұрын

    Yep! You'll need an SD card to record to any camera. If we compare it to something like our phones, we no longer need to insert a memory card, we buy them with preset storage amounts. With cameras they don't come like our phones do. You buy the memory cards, record with them in the camera, and when you're ready to take the footage off you'd use the SD card reader on your computer or buy an adapter to connect that card to your computer to export the footage and edit it. If you edit with your phone, depending on what phone you have, there are adapters to connect to your phone and get the footage off that way vs trying to send it wirelessly, which is slow with most cameras. Hopefully, this cleared things up a bit for you on using it.

    Hi Diana, super helpful video especially with the settings. Can I ask - do you know a good way I use my ZV-E1 (I went for it!) could record a video in 4K 24p and screen recording at the same time separately? I'm testing out eCamm (thanks for the rec) but have only been able to get it to do Picture in Picture which combines both my talking head and screen recording. In Descript I can record both video and the screen, but only in 4K 30p or 1080 30p because of the ZV-E1 settings. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Bump in case you see this!

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney19 күн бұрын

    @PeterSu Howdy Peter! Hmm...there's a couple of different ways you can do that, but let's stick with what you have so far. If you already have Ecamm Live and the ZV-E1, using a computer based setup can be accomplished by creating a scene that is the final layout you'd ideally like BUT enable isolated video files in your Ecamm settings. In Ecamm, go to the Settings gear icon, select the tab "Recording", and you'll see an option called "Record All Broadcasts". If you have this option selected, you'll then see more options become available called "Record Isolated Video Tracks". Here you can select the individual video feeds you want to record. That way when you go into editing, you can have the full version of that isolated video feed vs just the created scene in Ecamm. I personally try to minimize as many steps as possible in edited by making the adjustments in real time in Ecamm. So, if I know most of my video is going to be a picture in picture framing, I'm going to enable Isolated video so I can switch to the full camera screen feed or just me on screen when I want to in editing. However, if I know a longer portion is just talking head, I go to my "Just Me" scene, and let it rest there until I'm ready to switch to something different. I do everything in 4k 24p, even in a setup like you're describing you'd like to do. I used the HDMI port, not the USB/ The only way/reason you'd be locked into certain frame rates is if you use USB-C only. I go HDMI every time because it's the best quality and gives me tons of creative flexibility. You can mix and match it however you want. Congrats on grabbing the ZV-E1, hope you enjoy it!

    @@DianaGladney Thanks a lot - you are amazing!! I couldn't find this anywhere online/reddit/etc. OK - so I got the Cam Link 4K and can get 4K 24p in eCamm via HDMI now, and also ordered the UURig fan with your link (huge to know you trust this adapter more). However, when I go to "Record Isolated Video Tracks" the individual tracks are greyed out because I don't have Apple Silicon in my older mac. Is there any way to still record the screen separately on eCamm? If not, what do you think about if I just use Descript and record my talking head in 4K 24p (via the Cam Link) + my screen? This setup seems pretty awesome since I want to drop everything in here anyway to get Studio Sound and edit in here. The only thing is I'm worried about the 4K video being choppy/having latency since I think Descript uploads my stream to the cloud and my internet speed wobbles at times.

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney22 күн бұрын

    @YTANIRUDH Nope, none of the Sony camera models from have that issue. There's no settings you need to adjust for the camera to stay on while you're streaming, so you're good to go. The cameras that do that, like with the Canon M50 Mark 1 for example, is because it didn't have Clean HDMI. Meaning, it didn't matter that an HDMI cable was connected to the camera, it didn't register in the camera to make it stay on recognizing that the port is in use. Sony cameras, even the cheapest ones, have Clean HDMI out and won't go to sleep and time out.

    I heard Zve10 is not good for begineer photography it is worse for photograph is it true?

  • @DianaGladney
    @DianaGladney17 күн бұрын

    No, it's not true. The reason why folks would say that is the body design is crafted for video content creation over photos. For example, there are more buttons on a camera like the a6600 for example and it has a larger battery, that's pretty much it. There are zero differences in the sensor quality, low light performance, or anything else for photos between the ZV-E10 and the a6600 for example. Quality wise though, there's zero difference since all the internals are exactly the same. Now, if you're comparing it some other higher end camera made for photography, the answer may be different. But versus the a6600, they're the same camera, different external shell. Literally.

    Nice video, and it is actually much worse. If you shoot with a manual lens none ?? of these options in scene mode will work ??

    My only beef is your offhand comment about "and you're blaming us for buying..." You offer valuable content that is worth watching, but a LOT of Tubers are glorified shopping channel hosts who offer no real value. They are in it for free gear only. It's gross, and I'm glad that viewers are calling out a lot of the BS. I have no issues with product reviews, but I want a genuine review, not one in which the reviewer isn’t honest, because they dont want to jeapordize getting gear for free from the company being reviewed because they were honest about the gear being shite.

    That's interesting! Sometimes I like background music, sometimes I don't want to hear anything but it just depends on the video for me.

    @@DianaGladney I still love your content! and am a big fan of your channel. I wonder if it's partly because I listen with earbuds. When the music is loud I have to bow out.
