Bending the pins is a classic fix that I remember doing when I was about 13 years old. Unfortunately, it isn't a permanent fix, especially if you use your console a lot. Thankfully, the 72 pin connector is incredibly cheap off of Ebay. Under 10 USD for a new one out of china, and well worth the investment.
