Ferrari’s incredible win in Australia might have been helped by Max Verstappen’s untimely exit from the race but by all accounts, Ferrari were quick enough to challenge the Red Bull’s anyway. Red Bull aren’t sitting still though and their aerodynamic wizard Adrian Newey has sent a chilling warning to the rest of the teams. With the legendary Suzuka Circuit up next on the calendar, the on track racing is going to be intense and Red Bull’s competitors will need every edge they can get. Ferrari are going to be coming out fighting but the track, with a large percentage of high and medium speed corners, could see Mercedes have an even worse weekend than they did at Albert Park. Haas and RB as the early leaders of the bottom five will be rubbing their hands in glee at the idea of picking up more points while the Silver Arrows flounder.

Max would have left Carlos far behind first lap had his brake not locked up immediately. Delusionals trying to spin it as such a great forward leap for Ferrari.

You have to remember how far Sergio Perez was behind the Ferraris at the front. He was almost a minute behind, and Australia has many Drs zones to help Perez catch up.

@@racing1000But Perez ain‘t Verstappen. Between those two, Verstappen is by far the quicker driver. Not to say the Ferraris weren‘t fast, but I think Verstappen would be better off.

It is a Great Leap Forward by Ferrari. First 3 races they have been comfortably ahead of the field bar red bull. Night and day improvement compared with last year
Like I have been saying since the end of last season, I do believe Ferrari is capable of fighting for the constructor's championship this season. Whether they are going to win it, I don't know, but I do think they will be pushing Red Bull much harder than anyone else did last season.

With their upgrades, both Ferrari and Red Bull are to extend the gap between them and the rest of the field. Their cars will almost certainly occupy the front two rows of the grid, and the high-speed nature of the corners in Japan gives me hope that the Ferraris can fight to get both cars on the podium.

To think that Obi Wan Newey the Master of the Air Force cannot squeeze more from the RB20 is not living on Earth One. He is playing Grand Master level chess while the rest of the grid is just playing chess. Alpine is playing checkers. I do applaud Ferrari's turn around though. Good on them for this surge. Let the battle of the major upgrades begin.
Here is a serious curve ball for you to consider. The only reason why Ferrari did well at Melbourne was because the FIA unfairly penalized Checo after qualifying.......... and Max had a freak, random brake failure that took him 'out of the race'. Think about it. Max took the lead and started pulling away with a right rear brake that was seized!!! ......... With no brake problem & no unfair penalty for Checo, would have given the RB team another P1 & P2 finish.

REDBULL DOESN'T LOOK ALL THAT DOMINANT TO BE TRUTHFUL . THEY DO LOOK QUICK BUT NOT AS FAST AS THEY DID IN 2023 COMPARED TO THE TOP THREE F1 TEAMS FOR THIS YEAR . SO YOU COULD BE WITNESS TO SOME MAJOR UPSETS . JAPAN IN THE NEXT RACE IS THE PROVING GROUNDS IF ONE OF THE TOP THREE F1 TEAMS CAN BRING REDBULL TO THEIR KNEES WITH A WIN OR STAY WITHIN A HALF SECOND OF THEM TO THE FINNISH LINE THEN WE ALL WOULD BE ASSURED THAT RED BULL HAS FALLEN .
Max will win the Drivers Championship but Ferrari will win the Constructors Championship because of the weakness of Perez This in turn will put someone else in his seat in 2025
Ferrari finishes at the very top of the heap in 2024. Period.
