    Love both your channels. I'm currently doing Busy Dad because it's so simple. I work out 5 days per week. 4 doing burpees, and 1 doing rows and lunges for some antagonistic movement and a bit more on the legs. The simplicity is what I need as a recovering fat lazy fuck. I'm still a fat fuck, but I haven't felt lazy in a couple months now. Soon I'll just be a fucker.

    The Busy Dad Program is the best fitness program out there. Its been life changing for me as a dad with not much free time. I never had much motivation to keep fit but somehow the BDP has got my interest and im still doing it five months later and making great progress. His website explains it all and i was hooked after reading it.

    Agreed. I do Busy Dad work outs once or twice a week, as they are time efficient, challenging and good for bench marking. I also do Cindy routines and a mix of other circuits, mostly burpee based. Exactly as you say it’s the freedom of burpee based training that is so great and there are many different useful approaches to choose from 👍

    I use it. The best advice I could give is move on between levels after that level has clean form AND the level becomes "easy" or not as strenuous. I'm at 40 navy seals, I can do 60, but it will burn me out, I will proceed to 50 in a few weeks.

    Well said Lee. I owe Max and the BDP an awful lot for the shape I'm in now. I also saw the hurt in his eyes delivering that video. One of the big problems with a lot of the arm chair pundits is they are just that. This is a marathon not a sprint- a lifestyle. Once you embrace the burpee and the benefits it has to offer over other forms of training, and stay consistent, you won't look back.

    Excellent explanation Lee. As Max says, it's a remarkably simple and effective training methodology but it isn't for everyone. Quite honestly, I am among those people who has great respect for the program, and while I enjoy high intensity training at times, it isn't a style that I am drawn to for consistent routines. I prefer a balance of intensity, endurance, and other in-between work as part of my own training. Everyone has to derive their own value from their routines, whether following a program or self-created.

    Hi Sir Lee , his routine is great . When training that Hard , i do Pushups first and then Leg Squats ,to separate . For the people that wants a notch easier but still wants to do high volume Push Ups and Squats . And on the leg squats its great to do with rubberbands ore with a ketlebell . Ore to do 20 Push Ups a time and 20 Squats ,that is also easier . Whit this routine Busy Dad can even do more Push Ups and Squats . He is up there whit the fastest Burpees specialist there is . He is a Powerhouse . He is really Fit . He is been doing his training for years . Send My Warm Greetings to your Friend Busy Dad , Much Love from Helsingborg Sweden

    Nice video Lee. Being a father of two and having a busy lifestyle, i've found it increasingly difficult to find time to train. I used to have hours to be in the gym. These days I can usually get a 20min session in at some point, whether it's early morning or late night. However, after a year of doing mostly burpees, a 20min burpees session was no longer offering me the intensity I was looking for. I didn't feel I was getting any fitter or stronger, rather I was just maintaining a level of conditioning. One day I decided to try a Crossfit workout and I was shocked by how difficult It was to get through. This made me realise that I was not as fit or strong as I thought I was. I was just good at doing burpees. I still love burpees but now I incorporate them into Crossfit workouts. Since doing this I have gained muscle, strength and endurance. I can arrange a 20min routine that makes me feel more fatigued and satisfied than any long winded burpees session ever did. On days where I simply cannot get in the gym, I still find time to knock out some one pumps/Navy seals. These are now like my emergency back up routines. So, for anyone that isn't feeling that 20mins of burpees is enough and if you don't have time to spend doing hours of Navy seals. I suggest you try doing 100 burpees with 100 40kg thrusters for example and try to fit that into a 20min session. Love and respect to you and Max. Thanks for all that you do for your viewers.

    I was thinking about that myself. I Just watched Physical One Hundred on Netflix and can see the crossfitters doing well. I also noticed a mountain climber and a wrestler doing well on rope climbing and other challenges. It's been cool seeing people who are strong in different areas of fitness and seeing people discover how weak they are in certain other areas. I've also seen some calisthenics guy on here just wandering the streets and using whatever they can in their environment to create challenging exercises. The question becomes, am I truly fit if I cannot sprint/ run short to mid distances /climb a rope/ hold my own body weight up for several minutes / push or carry reasonably heavy objects a certain distance etc. A lot of this stuff could come in handy in day to day life in emergencies as well. An emergency is the wrong time to find out you're not in shape.

    you made a great defense of the bdp. i'm not sure why max even posted the video about sustainability as his channel has grown by leaps and bounds; unless he's getting burned out by his own program. i think the efficacy of his program is due to the brevity, and the program he has come up with is quite ingenious with a well defined structure. in my training, burpees are a sub category, not because they aren't a highly efficient method for getting fit; they're just too abusive to my joints in excessive volume. as you summarized, we all have to figure out for ourselves the route we take on our fitness journey.

    The fact is that in the busy dad program there is no strategy for how to move from one level to another. It just lists the levels. In addition, he has no strategy on how not to combine 6-count burpees and navy, so as not to overload the body.

  • @StrongandConditioned

    @StrongandConditioned

    Although there is some truth in what you say, ultimately you have to look at in in context which I explained in the video however here’s another way… Think of BDT as an ‘open source program’. max has set up the frame work however it’s up for the community he has built to create strategies to reach the levels set out. Once one strategy is defined as superior, it becomes a mainstay in the program. It’s actually genius in this respect because it encourages experimentation and fosters a community

    @@StrongandConditioned So where are these strategies to reach the levels? I am completely grateful to the creator of the BDT. This is really the basis from which you can build all sorts of strategies. And with different end goals. Because 6-count and navy with different variations act on the body in different ways. For myself, I determined a strategy according to such a scheme (only navy). It means not from number one, but a strategy for increasing the load 1. 6 4 3 3 2. 10 in one go 3. 6 6 3 3 4. 14 in one go 5. 8 6 4 4 6. 17 in one go 7. 8 8 4 4 8. 20 in one go 9. 10 8 5 5 10. 24 in one go 11. 10 10 5 5 12. 26 in one go 13. 12 10 6 6 14. 30 in one go 15. 12 12 6 6 16. 33 in one go 17. 14 12 7 7 18. 35 in one go 19. 14 14 7 7 20. 37 in one go 21. 16 14 8 8 22. 40 in one go 23. 16 16 8 8 24. 42 in one go 25. 18 16 9 9 26. 44 in one go 27. 18 18 9 9 28 47 in one go 29. 20 18 10 10 30. 50 in one go What strategy have you determined for yourself as the most effective?

    Thanks for that honest summary of the BDP. As an older man just on the other side of 65 and having had some significant life changes recently, Max's passion to help others has been/is a huge motivator for me to help pull me out of a rut and on my way back to a higher state of physical conditioning which as we age which is paramount. It is also good mentality as those endorphins start to kick in after a work out. As a younger athlete "back in the day" I mixed high intensity workouts to overcome the boredom of endurance training so for now, the BDP is where I need to be. Thank you for your content and instructions which is also motivating.
