Hey Mark, it was awesome to get a spin on it, even if just to the MoT... I might see if I can stretch its legs a bit if we get a nice enough day, but I hate to ride a bike once I've decided to sell it... feels like tempting fate a little. I am sure it will sell, it is more a case of when will it sell as custom bikes need like minded people to buy them, who need to have the money and be looking at the time they are up for sale 😀

Sad day mate, you and Vader have been through a lot together. Is that really 11.5 years, crikey! Someone is going to be very happy with the purchase. BTW, the standard for checking tyre pressures is a kick, not press with the thumb...🤣🤣🤣 That tax thing is winner for the Gov, yet another stealth tax... Take care mate, I here the Daff's are out, so not long now!

Aye, longest I've ever owned any vehicle this. Aye, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth the new tax system for bikes/cars/etc. Hahaha... the only dafs I've seen this year so far are Layland Dafs 😀

Man I love Lord Vader, what a gorgeous motorcycle, she is definitely going to make a new owner very happy. They don't make bikes like Lord Vader anymore. Congrats on the MOT pass 💪 Great video mate, hope you get one more ride out on Lord Vader before it goes off to a new owner.

Joys of fleet management. Paying tax on each bike does get expensive. Here in Australia, the greenslip prices makes having multiple bikes expensive.

Is one of the reasons the bike was in my living room for the last year+ as I wasn't riding it, saved the money on tax

@@HippoDrones They have a couple of second hand V7s there at the moment but I can’t buy anything until the summer and even then only if everything goes to plan 🤞 Seriously thinking about one. Maybe just for a year or so to scratch the itch. So second hand would be my best option for getting one because I‘m not looking for another keeper, already have two of those 😂 Cheers Pete 🍺🍺

Well done Hippo! That’s a crazy system in the UK. A 1 day or 6 month or 1 year tax that you pay for & then the government gets it back again from the next owner 🤦‍♂️ Talk about double dipping… At least we only have to get a Road Worthy Certificate once at the point of sale or the next owner gets one & pays registration transfer tax, but the registration carries over until it’s due the following year. Naturally, nothing is cheap!

It is frustrating to have to pay tax to use the roads with each vehicle... I can only ride one bike at a time, but have to pay it for all of them

Crazy to think it's been over a year since you rode Vader. Taxes are a pain.

Aye, I was gonna sell it last spring, but lost track of time

I recall a Hagar the Horrible cartoon, where the taxmen came and asked for tax money. Hagar protested that he had paid all tax, but it turned out he forgot to pay the tax on paying tax.

It is not a wet weather bike, but I didn't build it to be one!

It’s always weird to let a bike with history go, but it’s fun to dream of what lies ahead. Ahhh, so now yall do what we do. Just different words. I had to go get my bike inspected (MOT) that’s $7. And then Registration (Tax) $53.00. It’s a yearly thing as well. I didn’t realize mine was expired till it was pointed out 😆🤦‍♂️.

When we used to have to have a physical disc showing we had paid tax on our bikes, it was a lot easier to keep track, they would send us a reminder a month prior, and that also reminded us we needed to get the MoT done as they'd usually run at the same timeframe... now the tax is electronic, we don't get a reminder, so have to stay on top of it all... not so bad if you own one car, but 4 bikes and a van, it gets a bit chaotic! :-D

@@HippoDrones Ahhh okay. We get mail reminders as well and like you, between my bikes and the 2 cars, sometimes one gets missed. This is also why i like dirt bikes, none of that stuff needed.

Ah the gold old days of vechile tax. T iremeber a 12month MOT nad tax was a selling point. I think you'd kick yourself if you have the oppertunity to get a last proper spin with the correct weather.

Is just time for it to be sold, I meant to sell it last spring, but I never got around to it... it is too much money to be tied up as an ornament, so time for us to part company. I'll hugely miss it, it is my bike, no other like it :-)
