Five HG Prime GTX | Heated Gore-Tex Gloves |

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

As I ride all year round in the UK, I need bike kit that is warm, waterproof and durable. I recently got myself these Five HG Prime GTX heated gore-tex gloves and am really impressed with them so far. This video is just me testing them out on a rideout to the West Beach Cafe in Littlehampton to meet up with ‪@Phil480‬ I'll do a proper review of them once I have used them for a lot more time.

My trusty Triumph winter gloves that I've been using for a few years are coming towards the end of their life, so I will probably upgrade to heated ones come next winter.

I'm really impressed with these so far, they are very bulky though, not sure what the other manufacturers options are like.

I've been using heated gloves, vests, jacket, chaps since 1985. Two things I've learned is that heated gear is best running off the bike not with battery packs and the second is have a controller that can be switch on/off and levels of heat and with the left hand. Individual controls on the gloves means taking your hand off the throttle to change the setting on the clutch hand side.

I don't know if you missed the part where I showed how to control them? I've mainly used these on their own battery power, but have connected them to the bike too and didn't hugely notice any difference in the heat they put out? 🙂👍

Ill have to look in to these. As a serial motorcycle collector such as yourself i think gloves make most sense rather than slapping a set of heated grips on everything. Also couldnt agree more on reviewers saying something is "the best ever" without trying a single other option available.

I've already had cold fingers a couple of times this winter and have thought about getting some heated gloves for the next one. Like you, never had them before but starting to think that they might be worth the investment. Keep us posted about how they hold up and maybe I will get the same ones myself ! Cheers Pete Garry & Ruby

Nice Pete, I've rarely felt the need for heated gear, but I was recommended to get Five gloves from a young (but very moto-knowledgable) friend about 3 years ago and they are the best quality. Still like new, just looking a bit old.

I was really impressed with their non heated gloves I got last year, super waterproof and really comfy, these ones are a bit bulky with the heating element and battery etc, but seem just as well made! 🙂

Got some Gerbing XR Extreme gloves end of last year totally transformed my winter commute. Obviously had to get the other half some to keep the peace she went for Richa with Gerbing's micro wire internals. All four bikes hard wired to power them. Still worked out cheaper than four lots of heated grips.

Aye and even on low it is enough to keep the chill off. I've fitted the hard wire kit to my Aprilia and Suzuki now which means even on longer trips if I do any in winter, I'll be able to keep them on for the duration too

I have noticed, that the older I get, the more I dislike the harsh cold. Just this winter I noticed I started noticing, when the hourly rent cars, that we have here, don't have seat heaters. I used to not care about that, even with -25, but this year, it was barely -22 and I was already wishing my back and bottom got some heat. Not given in on the bike yet, though, no heated riding gear.

So far I do, and I have now also fitted the hard wireing to a couple of my bikes. I personally find them a bit too warm even switched off when the ambient temperature is above 10°C so wear the other non heated pair I have in those circumstances and then generally switch to summer gloves 16°C and up unless it is raining. I've not really noticed a difference in temp between their own battery power and when powered off the bike. And tend to use them self powered for convenience until they get low and then connect up to the bikes power.

I've never owned heated gloves. Think I would find it difficult to justify that price for the amount of winter riding I do. If I was winter commuting, then yes. The control pad lights certainly stand out, can you dim them at night?

Hiya 🙂 I always pinch the finger tips when I remove gloves, especially lined gloves as it helps keep everything in the right place, but have had no issues with it moving, it can be a little fiddly getting them back on if you have wet hands, but not enough of a thing to bother me.
