Cool update, I just started rebuilding my cactus and succulent collection. Selenicereus grandiflorus grows everywhere here in Florida, it naturalizes easily.

Hello Amie, greetings from Ireland, Cacti grow well under protected conditions such as a greenhouse, most cacti can survive cold but not wet conditions, bird of paradise plant can take up to 10 years to flower.

Great video, what a great collection, I’ve only got about 7 cacti but got a lot of succulents started collecting in April, now I’m addicted! Don’t know how you get all the cacti in your house - is it a mansion lol I saw Lynns video and she mentioned your name, she was unpacking the plants you’d sent her which were great

Just curious on a couple things. Do you leave your cacti in the greenhouse over the winter? If you do, how cold does it get in it? Do you heat your greenhouse over the winter? Thank you.

Hi Phil, I keep a lot of my cacti out over the winter, South Kerry in Southern Ireland is mostly very mild and tempetures -°C are rare, anything from South Africa, Brazil etc I take in to the house, Cacti from high up in the andes such as Rebutia I leave out the greenhouse as long as the compost is bone dry, i lost a few such as old man cactus which I had for over 20 years which is a pain but I have only my self to blame because I didn't look at the weather forecast and bring the cactus in, I'll be doing a future video on that. if its frosty I'll drap horticultural fleece over the plants and light a small parafin heater. But any tropical and higher temp cacti I wouldn't risk leaving them out over the winter.

@@shanewalsh1439 Thanks for the reply Shane. I was in Ireland this past summer for the first time and was surprised to see Palm-like trees growing in peoples yards and Fuschia plants here are an annual and over there they are like 15 foot bushes that are also outside year round. I heard it didn't get into the negative temperatures very often but I didn't expect it to be that warm. It was awesome!!! I will definitely be returning at some point. Thanks again.
