Shane, I love looking at your collection! Makes me want to buy more cactus that I see from your collection which I don’t have. I also love your echeveria and agave collection. 😍 Beautiful sunset shot! Can you do a spotlight on tephrocactus? It’s care, different kinds, etc. I see you have a lot. I only have one and it is getting too dehydrated despite being watered. I’m not sure why.

Is it good for a cactus plant to flower all year? I see different videos talking about making sure the cacti go through the seasons and winter type months from Oct. to Feb. dormant in order for them to flourish. I have just started back about a year ago increasing my cactus and succulent collection after moving to Kentucky USA. I love this and the plants and upkeep are so much fun but also therapeutic. Seeing 25-year and old plants thriving amazes me.

Hi Thomas, yes it is good for cacti to go through the seasons, a cool dormancy period from Mid October to end of March/start of April when they get their 1st watering and liquid fertilser. I water about every two weeks in the growing season and fertilise twice only, their last watering will be the end of September start of October depending on the weather, usually if its overcast I won't water.
