That rider having all those encounters is to blame for some of those, had plenty of time to slow for that car pulling onto the road but keeps the speed up and then proceeds to flash their lights, riding right next to the centerline with a car passing the cyclist didn't even try to move over, looks like someone is trying to have a problem or the remaining braincells are out to lunch.

An older person you see having a rough time walking, is often doing it, so they can keep on walking. Once you sit down all the time, you have given-up. Moving is living.

The cop changed his song as soon as he knew he was being recorded 🤣🤣🤣

@@ma-jp8bfit’s different, for you to get a copy of the body cam you need to ask the police department and they can also decide to take a while to release the footage if it wasn’t damaged or lost *wink wink*. When you record on your own they cannot seize, stop or block the recording as it would be unconstitutional plus you get to release it any time you wish to or take it to a lawyer asap.

@@ma-jp8bf one thing is that the cop is recording with his body cam it’s police regulations they must it’s another thing when cops get recorded by the person they are stopping or questioning that’s why he changed the tune to his song

The pullover was actually kind of a good lesson to the kid. The kid said he was doing the speed limit for the last 2 miles. Was he speeding before that? Also-- you putting stuff on your bike interfering with the ability to see the license plot is going to give them a reason to pull you over. Most states have a requirement the plate be visible-- not just attached. So yeah, putting filter over it, or a darkened cover, or putting something blocking it's visibility, or bending it at an angle is a valid reason for a cop to stop you. Don't give them that reason.

To add a little context, the bike at 22:50 has an electronic roll chart up on the dash and what looks like a timing transponder on the bars, so he was in a rally or race of some kind. That adds a sense of urgency that probably contributed to pulling out in front of traffic.

He's probably on a transport stage though, no? I can't imagine race organizers are dumb enough to have a stage go through/over public roads with traffic?

At 4:00 that appears to be a one way street. There are no traffic lights for traffic to see in the opposite direction and the divider line is white, not yellow.

Doing over 80 in Atlanta is typical but dangerous as hell on a bike, roads are crap and drivers are in a hurry all the time, but that rider was in the blindspot plain and simple and at those speeds you are not going to be seen. That's just the hard cold truth, you really have to have your head on a swivel in the ATL at all times and read the road like a fortune teller🤣

DanDan, lithium battery-fire is a chemichal reaction wich does not need oxygen to continue burning. Cooling it will help. Electric cars, trucks or bikes need to be lowered under water for a long time. The gas (smoke) is very deadly.

The motorist from the video at 4:00 is in the Teide national park in the Canary islands, i recognize the area; full of turist and that building in the right is a funicular to the top of the volcano. By the way, that guy is driving way too fast for the conditions of the road, the part where he is complaining about absolute nobrainers just infuriates me, boy just slow it down.

4:09 really don't understand this guy. He rides like he's driving a truck. Can't assume you can brake in time, if you're not going to pay attention.

tourist heavy places are a whole other hazard... take your average urban attention defeciet and multiply by ten. I lived in Banff/Yoho for two decades, people on vacation check their brains at the gate.

About the car at 3:00, don't forget cars have also a blind spot there (at the separation between the front windshield and the side window. It's very small, but it's big enough to hide a bike.

In a lot of situations, I see cars lane splitting and turning on main streets without looking, but a lot of the riders are completely clueless in avoiding the situation. Take it for granted that car drivers are going to do these things and always be prepare to slow down and avoid the situations. Most of these crashes happen because of egos and riders rushing to their horn instead of breaks

16:38 car brakes then turns off ahead of him. He never downshifting from 6th gear. Had he slowed and down shifted for the right turner. He would've been slowed enough to stop before hitting the left turner. Sure the car driver is an idiot for not seeing him. But we must ride like none of them see us. 6th gear in busy intersections ain't it😅

another prime example for why I never use the horn for anything ever wether in the car or while riding. just raises everybody's blood pressure in the vicinity and sets the tone negatively, usually needlessly as well, wherein the horn did nothing good, solved nothing properly, and scares the folks near the road, further spreading tension and friction. 3:11

There's an interesting cultural difference between the east and west (roughly) in how we use our horns. In the west it's usually a long, aggressive f you honk after the fact, while in India, Thailand etc. they're usually short, informative "watch out I'm here" beeps. The latter seems like a much more productive way to use the horn.

Burning lithium batteries create their own oxidizers, so that wouldn't work. Well, it might stop any secondary fires from starting in there, but the battery would keep burning.

@@styx85 I had a phone catch fire, its lithium battery ignited when I tried to remove it (my mistake, never use metal tools on a battery). I dropped the phone in a 5 gallon bucket of water. That put it out.

I'll share my painful new rider story so any new riders can learn from it. Even though I know I'm going to get lambasted here in the comments. I had a motorcycle safety course scheduled but didn't take it yet, I have to reschedule it now. Got a vulcan 650s for my 1st bike last week. Started in a parking lot. Then moved to my neighborhood. I ended up riding to some other small towns over the course of a few days. I was being cautious, practicing some stops without stalling the bike and turns. Doing well. And then three blocks from my house I went to turn out of my development in first gear going about 10 miles an hour. I shifted in the middle of the turn not knowing the damage that it could cause. When I let the clutch out, the throttle caught and jumped me probably from 10 Mph into 30 + in about 15 ft straight into a curb. I launched over the handlebars and landed on my shoulder breaking it in four places. I also broke 4 bones in my other hand. Got a plate put in my shoulder with 7 screws.. I bent the rear brake pedal, and dented my gas can and scratched my front rim. Now I'm pretty much incapacitated for a month and I'm not sure how many extra weeks it'll take until I can ride again. I had full gear at least but I made a super uneducated novice mistake and it cost me dearly. New riders, if you're reading this, learn from my mistake. Don't underestimate the power of your bike. Unfortunately I didn't know better and now I'll remember this for the rest of my life. Not a good way to learn firsthand. But hopefully others learn from it. If I had it recorded, I'd submit it, but no camera yet. I love the channel, I've been binging it I'm trying to learn as much as I can when I do go back out.

I ride a Vulcan too. They got some juice for sure, but in your case it had nothing to do with shifting during a turn. It was two things. Dumping the clutch and an unsteady throttle. You need to practice throttle control and friction zones a lot more.

@@PedroAlvesGoogle doesn't matter what they're in or what they're doing. When I'm in an organised group, I always look even though we have marshals controlling traffic. Better safe than sorry.

When dealing with lithium remove it and !!don’t add water!! It will form hydrogen gas. If you are adding water do it when there are no heatsources around for example a hot exhaust, cigarettes etc. we all know the reaction with hydrogen gas and fire

16:12 typical cop. pulled him over because he saw a bike and thought he was gonna get an easy ticket. Realized he couldnt lie because he was recording. made something else up, and that wont fly either. I would be taking that cop to court. buy a new bike with the lawsuit money

The majority of the riders in the low 80s that I have run into are riding large caffe' racers or Harleys.

@@Iugeer And organ donor special. The road is probably posted at 70, he's going 86. There is a fair amount of traffic around, open lane patterns, and Semis. Its one thing dodging around cars, but a semi with a trailer is like having a brick wall next to you, it cuts your options drastically. Mind you, I'm sure many people will benefit from those organs

I won't say "he deserves to crash", but I have an extremely low opinion of ppl wearing comedy character covers on their helmets, especially that Easter bunny.
