Guys, go to the track. Go be fast where there are gravel pits, air walls, paramedics on site, and no traffic or trees/light poles. Set course records instead of a record for how fast your family can lose you.
Yeah that incident was from 2023 - Here is what happened to him: "Speed Demon was knocked out by the crash, but he was still on the bike as it coasted down the roadway. With no time to react, the tractor-trailer knocked the motorcycle over and sent the unconscious rider down to the pavement. He further explained in the video’s description: My accident from about 4 months ago. I call it an accident but it was clearly my fault. Too much confidence for too little skill. Thankfully made it out alive, and didn’t lose any limbs. 20+ fractures in my face, broke arm in half in two different places, collapsed lung, broken rib, two fractured spine discs. It’s good that Speed Demon acknowledged that his actions caused the crash. The collision could have easily ended with him under the wheels of the tractor-trailer. He’s fortunate that he can hope to get on a motorcycle again."

This is what we call a squid. Should stay off motorcycles, this kind of riding is what gives bikers a bad reputation. And obviously it's insanely dangerous not just for the rider but for everyone around him. Now everyone involved in that crash has to deal with the hassle of insurance/getting their vehicles repaired. The trucker loses pay, his livelihood, because of some arrogant prick. And everyone trying to use that part of the interstate for the next several hours is screwed because multiple lanes will be shut down and an investigation has to be done. I don't care about his injuries, that's on him, as is all the damage he's done to everyone around him that he still seems quite oblivious to.
Dutch Motorcycle Madness 13:55 : if it happens so often to you that you can send in videos over and over, could it be you too? Positioning in the blind spot, speeding in busy traffic and overal not good anticipating? I ride my bike for over 40 years now, and in the first 5 years I had this all the time. But with experience and growing older my brains developed a little more and most of all: I learned to "read" the traffic. And getting in this kind of situations became more and more rare.

I live in a city with pretty varied driving styles and a lot of people who seem to win their drivers license in a cereal box. But I find when I ride I have shockingly few close calls, even less than when I drive my car. I think it’s because I’m so much expecting things that they don’t catch me off guard or even surprise me. It’s actually helped me be less angry on the road because when I’m already anticipating it and ready to avoid a dumb move, I don’t get as frustrated as when something catches me off guard and scares me.
I think the "Hey, slow down" @18:58 was targeted at the red car that was coming around the corner. as the dudes bike was still in the road.

13:22 Thank you!! I was hoping you would see my clip :D I was in lane position 1 and in orange stage, all because I regularly watch your videos! Also for context, the truck in the right lane had his turn signal on and was turning right onto that side-road-that's why he was slowing down.
At 11:00 I think you missed the debris he dodged, you were watching the car change lanes.
I have been lurking while I was saving up, and I got my first bike and endorsed yesterday, thabk you for your content, I will continue to watch your content and be the safest rider I can be 😁

He is in Brazil. And no, Stop means Stop. It means the ppl in the other lane have the preference to cross it first. Dan was right, we bikers do whatever we want in Brazil, because we have a faster response most of the time. Like those 2 breaking before crashing into each other.

@@rocka07 Yeah, but no one respects stop signs here. Neither bikers, nor drivers. I don't know which city this was, but it appears that there is a stop horizontal text on the crossing road, as well. There is probabably a high rate of accidents in this intersection, to warrant that.

I agree with wearing gear on an e-bike. I've known a bunch of people that broke their elbow riding on regular bikes. Asphalt is hard on the body even at low speeds.
Hey Dan. Wasn’t sure what video to comment on so just chose the most recent. I’m riding in Ireland 8 years now. We obviously ride on the left side of the road and have a lot of rural tight country roads. Anyway I just want to say keep up the great work man. I recently started watching your videos and your AARs and riding tips really really helped me. The state of alert for different areas of the road orange and red etc are a life saver for sure. Your videos refreshed in my head what I should be doing anyway. Unfortunately this evening as I was riding my bandit on a regional road here (80km/h) a car just randomly pulled out across me and then slammed on their brakes causing me if I wasn’t already in a state of alertness to nearly crash straight into the driver side of the car and it would have been disastrous. But I reacted in a fraction of a second as I had already been constantly looking for escape routes while riding and managed to take one and swerve to avoid the car as it was impossible to stop in time due to my speed and due to the car pulling out when there was at most maybe 10 feet between us. I reacted without even having time to get startled, it was just muscle memory at this stage. Your videos are great. Thank you man🔥
I am riding for 45 years and I love watching your videos and I hope I can pick up some of your advice in practice. I especially like that you expose us to uncommon situations. I encounter perhaps every 1'000km some red state and every 10'000km some more serious situation. I like that you call for calmness. Some of the situations shown are just normal traffic (like the car reversing into the parking) only entitled bike react negatively to that. We neither own the street! we get thought defensive driving (=don't insist on your right and assume errors of others) during driving education. I can see that the average European driver rides more responsible than what you see on US videos. The hest country for Motobikes in Europe must be France when you approach from behind 9 of 10 cars make extra space for motobikes.

Glad to see E-Bikes finally making a entry into the biker world ✌🏽 I get how that one guy feels I deal with it just about every day with people being impatient and blowing past me just to get stopped at the same red light 6 seconds later when I finally catch up 😂😂 I’m not about to explode my BMS because you feel entitled in your 06’ Camry bro bro. Just wait till there’s a passing lane or get in the left make a gap then merge back right 🤦🏽♂️ no matter WHAT YOU RIDE gettin smacked off hurts wear gear regardless
I truly believe education is best past on through serious laughter. The laughter keeps everyone entertained and focused, the seriousness keeps us alive. Love your vids and everyone who teaches like this.
Lane splitting at 100MPH? Yeah that's always gonna work out well. FFS I never pass anything big unless I have the whole lane available to me. And lane splitting, usually not between two other vehicles but alternating lanes and using the gaps between other vehicles, as in nose to tail gaps not door to door gaps unless really slow traffic.
Okay, one thing I have to say. I just got my license and motorcycle last week, and I have been watching Dandan's videos these days. I noticed that many bikers in the videos are rude and unreasonable, always blame others or flipping middle finger even though they are at the fault. It is kind toxed.

Hey Dan thank you so much for posting these videos and educating us so much. Have you seen the video “red asphalt” it shows car crashes and first hand accounts of fatal car accidents. It’s very graphic and gruesome but educational and eye opening.
7:27 thumbs never heal mine just lock up randomly now 😂
19:25 I think he yelled slow down to the car approaching them
14:41 the rider said in dutch: "Telefoon neer!" Which translates into: "(Put your) Phone down!"
That made me sick, but also good reminder to ride safe..
15:16 that wasn't because he stalled, that's because driver behind wasnt looking P:
I had a crash just like the one at 6:30, I didn't almost get run over, just hit the back of a stationary vehicle on the freeway (probably traffic or something I'm not too sure) at 5:30 am after a 8 hour overnight shift. I didn't have an open book fracture but let's just say there's only one grape now. Still love riding, and I ride to this day, learned a lot from that mistake and I believe it was one of the better things to happen to me.
Potential incidents like the clip at 12:30 is what helped motorcycle riding MAKE me be ambidextrous. Long ago I would feel way more comfortable swerving to the right during practicing. My teacher whom was also teaching me carpentry at the time was teaching me to do more tasks with my left hand. Using hammers, power tools, and all helped me turn focus and control and that honestly helped me be more comfortable and stable making left side evasive maneuvers. Now, i can even write with my left hand but mainly I do feel like that helped the whole left side feel less foreign. I feel like it's important because you might swerve right out of habit and it's secure, when you should really be going left.
Speed Kills. Especially when blended with carelessness!
When I run bike I always keep anticipating moves of vehicles going ahead of me .
Looking at the road as that person slides down it looks to be a very smooth road with about i 1/4 to half inch of water can make smooth asphalt very slick
oh that 4:50 clip was right in my neck of 95. Florida has some crazy drivers and crazier riders
It seems that most of the problem is the speed. Maybe having a super fast bike is enough of a temptation to push it to its limit. I have a dual-sport so maybe that's why I don't feel that.
As someone that has done concrete, the truck is supposed to be clean so stuff doesn't fall. but yes dont travel behind anything with more than 4 wheels
10:30 I see so many people taking their feet of the pegs in a panic situation.. The moment you do that you're basically a passenger on your own bike... (not completely, but you surrender an awful lot of control by doing that) Also at that speed what do you think your feet are going to help? It's not a pushbike... Stay on the pegs! Then trail brake and steer your way through by focussing on the exit..
4:50 was absolutely brutal, when the tractor trailer made contact with him on his side i thought that was it for him. I was thinking his arm is gonna get pulled down by the semi's tire and he was gonna get ran over by the back tires of the trailer.
Gyroscopic precession is not what kept the bike up. Gyroscopic forces did. Precession is a little complicated to explain but that’s not it. It’s something that affects gyro compasses in planes. The longer your flight, the more precession, meaning your gyro compass needs to be corrected during the flight. Picking knits… love your channel. I’m a safer rider because of it
5:22 I thought the cut away explosion thing was real 😂😭
I think the bridge is icy. Bridge surfaces generally freeze before regular surfaces. Add some freezing rain = crash video.
why they get wobble front tire, because they dont have that piston protector _? would it save them from it ?

Blows my mind that this 'expert' sees no danger in lane splitting or whatever else it's called.
The little clip at 14:33 the biker said "telefoon neer" and that means phone down. It's not allowed to have a smartphone in your hand while driving and those fines are pretty high. And this happens a lot in the Netherlands, when i'm on my way to work i see plenty of people playing with their phones either placing a call or in some cases even watching a video! I had one too in a Tesla. A lady playing with her phone while in traffic but still rolling and slowly merging into my lane. Hit the horn and pointed at her using the phone. The best part is that she was even offended when i told her not to use her phone while driving. Some people need their license revoked that second and not been giving back.

Dan the fire man have you ever fallen off a motorcycle
I'm 79. I can only say that I can't imagine what my life would have been like if I had not spent so many years and miles on two wheels. Riding is pure pleasure and exhilaration. It comes with built-in dangers and hazards that cannot be circumvented. Bad things can happen that you have absolutely no control over. We can only mitigate those inherent hazards by being hyper vigilant every second. Riding faster than every other vehicle on the road is a death wish. Weaving in and out of traffic then getting pissed because somebody didn't know you were there is foolish and sooner than later will end your riding days. I notice that so many riders relay a lot on their middle finger to enjoy a day's riding. Then they gat no respect in traffic. Stop making enemies. By the end of your riding day you must be mentally and physically exhausted. Try backing off when you see something happening in front of you. It cost nothing. And it pays great dividends. Like having supper that night with you family instead of through a straw in a hospital bed. I'm also a retired firefighter and, like Dan, have seen it all. If you think the helmet law stinks you should smell blood mixed with rusty radiator water, beer vomit and oil sizzling on hot July asphalt in Phoenix

Last clip was pure ego. "Imagine having to wait like the cagers?!!" lol
As a dual sport motorcycle rider with a brain-my blood boils by the lack of common sense shown by riders in these videos. It's one thing for the instances to happen, but to upload them as if they aren't the r3tard. I should also mention I'm a truck driver who has never had an accident. The video near the end where the guy was butthurt about the person backing into the spot just shows how bad at driving and riding people really are. Backing into the spot is what prevents accidents from happening, cars shouldn't have to worry about bad riders. I've noticed in almost all videos Dan doesn't even see half the stuff or give worthy advice. Dan just says the obvious and keeps spouting the same acronym. Such a braindead culture that I'm not super proud to be part of. Lane splitting is absolutely insane and shouldn't be legal anywhere.
5:14 WTF 😮😮😮😮😮😮
