Social media IS dangerous. I believe people don't realise exactly how dangerous it is. Sharing your activities and locations for the online community to see is extremely risky, with or without an active stalker. It's like drawing a huge bullseye on your own back. Unnecessary and dangerous.

I think that anyone convicted of offenses like domestic violence, coercive control, stalking or fraud, should have to register (like a sex offender), and we should be able to check it when we are entering into a new relationship. There are so many people injured, traumatized or killed by someone who had had police complaints, previous charges, even prison time, and enter into new relationships with people who have no idea. At least if we know, we can make an informed decision whether or not to date them.

The police, most times, won’t help until it’s too late. This is why we have to make sure we have a way to protect ourselves. I had a customer at my old job whom I had exchanged numbers with, for business purposes. He started texting and calling me asking me to go out with him. I politely declined. He called me one day, and had a very eery tone to his voice. He very calmly told me “I can see your job from my house. I know your work schedule, and what kind of car you drive. Next time I see you there, I’m going to come in, break your neck, and slit your throat from ear to ear.” I called the police, and they came to meet me. The police officer called him, and said “This is officer so and so with Tulsa police dept, and I’m with (my name), and she told us you have threatened her.” This psycho told the officer “I’ll tell you exactly what I told her. When I see her at work again, I’m gonna come in, break her neck, and slit her throat from ear to ear. I’m from Turkey, and we cut peoples heads off for less.” (he said for less.. but all I had done was decline his advances). This police officer looked at me and said “there’s nothing we can do unless he tries to follow thru with his threat. I do think you should take him seriously, and leave town for awhile.” I asked “is this not terroristic threatening? Can he not be charged for that?” Again he told me “not unless he tries to carry out his threat. I strongly advise you to quit your job for awhile and leave town, and go stay somewhere safe”. I did quit my job, and went a state away to stay with my parents for the next 5 months. I now carry my own protection. The police won’t protect you.

Regardless of social media posts, he was a lunatic and he would have stalked her and killed her regardless. He was insane enough to stab her 75 times in public broad daylight?? Whether her friends had been with her not, if he’s THAT crazy he’d have absolutely attacked them too. He tricked her into falling for him, showing where she lived, he would have found her no matter what. It is absolutely TRAGIC and the only person at fault is HIM. After dealing with multiple toxic people in my life; both family and personal relationships, I’ve learned a lot…one at the top of the list, is to keep the details of your life, completely private!! Never disclose any of your plans or whereabouts to anyone you do not trying! And by all means, NEVER post your life details online for the world to see. You are just inviting trouble into your life. Some people do this today, to make the other person jealous; without thinking of the terrible consequences it can have. Stalkers are extremely unhinged and this is often the tragic result. What a monster!

The last time I dated I made my date fully aware that I was tagging every place we visited and that my friends knew who he was (turned out we also had mutual friends.) Some people would say that’s too much or “how off-putting for him” but, I’d rather live for many more years than risk it. Turns out I was right to be cautious, as he was only after one thing and in my case, being open on Facebook was for my personal safety.

Why can't we blame the murdering stalker a$$hole for being where they shouldn't? Why can't we have a system where if someone who has a serious stalking history and is known to the police have some sort of check in program with probation or something. I really don't know the best answer but literally anything is better than a "we'll tell him to leave you alone and best of luck to you" approach from the police.

EXACTLY!!!! The focus of blame & "lesson learned" is always on the victim, never the criminal or anyone who enabled the criminal. I do believe that once you break up with an abusive person, there should be no further contact of any kind, but sadly, that is easier said than done for alot of women because women have softer hearts. It sucks that people take advantage of that.

Police don’t do shit until it’s too late. I pressed charges on my ex & warned them how dangerous he was & the officer promised they’d pick him up that weekend. I stayed with my Mom & he showed up multiple times banging on the door screaming outside, when I called 911 I was told there’s nothing they could do about it & that it could take weeks, months, even years to pick someone up on warrants! After 2 1/2 weeks I had to go back home though I really didn’t feel safe. A week later he turned up, pointing a gun in my face threatening me, I managed to run quickly to the neighbors, he shot the gun several times & came banging on their door threatening them then drove off. Police finally arrested him but that incident could’ve been prevented if they’d listened to me & arrested him long before. Someone could’ve been hurt or killed, my neighbors 10 year old daughter was inside their house at the time! Police in my county didn’t even bother to take photos of the bullet casings & take witness statements! Now how are they going to prove what happened in court?? They really are a joke & this is exactly why so many women end up dead!

I understand where you're coming from.. however, it can be difficult when you see someone in this situation make alot of wrong choices..😣😣 I think what is more important here is to learn from these types of tragedies and turn the criticism into something constructive and compassionate, like spreading further awareness. Too many people are still very naive to this type of abuse and stalking. predators spacificly target naive, trusting people, especially people in recovery (of any kind) who may be still coming out of a thick mental fog... She should have put off dating imo...😔😔💔💔 Sadly and I'm not saying this in a mean way but her friend didn't exactly give her the best advice.. "don't worry about him, he's just a psycho" WHAT, REALLY!!?!?🤦🤦🤦 with peace and love, I'm sure she didn't mean to but she should have told her to dial 911 (or whatever emergency line the UK has) and told her NOT to go anywhere alone until this dude has backed off, encourage her to shift her fitness knowledge to self defense, etc.. it annoys me that people still think that a stalker is like a bad rash that will go away on its own..🙄🙄 PEOPLE NEED TO GET MORE EDUCATED AROUND THESE ISSUES!!! Again, I say that in a loving way 💚💚💚 because I have been there to..😕😕

Here's a tip: Get in the car and lock the door immediately, AND start the car immediately. Get acquainted with the way the door lock works, and make it a habit. Pay attention to your surroundings, dont let anyone get too near your car - and if someone makes you uneasy, just leave that area. Just drive away and if you need a minute, find another place to do your bs (texting, makeup, GPS etc). If you take comfort in the fact that your vehicle doors lock automatically, then you must understand that they (generally) do not lock until you actually put the vehicle in gear (drive), just so you know. So when you get in your vehicle, you are very likely gonna have to physically press the 'lock doors' button on the vehicle door. And don't open the trunk or passenger door and bend over to put all your sh*t in the vehicle - this makes you a perfect target for robbery, or kidnap, god forbid. Toss your sh*t in quickly as you get in. Get your big Instagram *ss in the vehicle FAST, and fn lock it up. And as you're sitting in the parking lot, there's no need to have the window right by your head rolled down. This gives any assailant physical access to grab your hair/clothing etc. If necessary, you could roll down the passenger window instead, but not far enuf for someone to reach their body in and physically grab you across the passenger seat, or even slither in your vehicle entirely... When you immediately lock the door, start the vehicle and are parked facing forward (so you can drive forward, not have to reverse out), then you are then in perfect position GTFO immediately, if necessary, and leave your problem in the rear view mirror. I also put my car (standard) in gear and keep my foot on the brake pedal, that way I'm immediately ready to drive off. *** This habit protected me from an altercation (or God knows what??) with a mentally disturbed (I assume) man who ran up to the driver's door of my vehicle as I returned home from work at approx 3 am one morning. He was obscured by other parked vehicles when I pulled up and came out screaming "Why are you doing this to me!?" (No, I was not in his parking spot lol) all the while waving some kind of long object that my brain claims was a sword/machete (I was so startled and frightened, and I fled so quickly, that I don't even know what it was, nor what he looked like). But, because i was confident that I was safely secured in my car (and I always keep my car running until I am actually ready to get out and go inside my house), I knew that I wasok for that moment and I was able to quickly get the heck outta there (without having to think very much about what I was gonna do) before anything bad happened. And if someone pulls a gun on you at your window, and the vehicle is all ready to go, slam that mo-fo in gear and gun it. Don't even think about it. Odds are, you're better off taking your chances than letting someone armed in your vehicle. And if they shoot you as you drive away, they were probably gonna kill you anyways, so you stand at better chance of shot missing you as you flee. Anyone can be the victim if car-jacking, robbery, or whatever, so men and women alike need to be alert. When you make your own security second-nature, it really clears the mind so that you are able to act in order to help yourself when you really need to. Nobody is gonna be able to help you in some situations. Ultimately, it's on you to look out for yourself.

When I moved to avoid him, he would follow my children home from their activities to find where I had moved to as he knew my routine & the details of my life. Fortunately, these were the days before social media. To this day I am not on social media but somehow I am in other peoples posts & see how difficult it would be to hide. To lose my stalker, I had to have my 2 older school age children go stay with their father while I took my baby (stalkers child) & hid. As a nurse I did not dare work at a hospital or nursing home where he'd be looking for me. I did private duty & hid for 3 years until he finally gave up & moved on. I know he would have killed me as at the end he was telling me how he was going to kill me & what he would do with my dead body. My monster is now dead, God is good. I'm so very sorry this happened to such a young, vibrant, beautiful, talented woman. My sincerest heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. As someone that was kidnapped at the young age of 15, I Never post anything on social media, that's personal, much less where I am, or where I'm going. My heart goes out to sweet Molly.😭

I get mad when I watch these things. There’s this instinct that we have and it’s called a gut feeling. If your gut is telling you something is wrong you get out of there. This is where I feel that people that are either to public or grow up shelters don’t realize you need to follow your gut. It’s not that you don’t want to be wrong it’s literally there is something wrong. And if your gut is telling you to go then go. Never ignore your gut feeling.

My deepest condolences to Molly's friend and family. She was such a beautiful light in this dark and cruel world. It seems like the brightest lights are always extinguished first. May her memory and message live on in the hearts of those who loved her in the correct and safe way. I never got the chance to know her, but I will remember her from this video forever. RIP MOLLY YOU ARE REMEMBERED!!!?

It’s always the most loving and trusting ones that stuff like this happens to. It’s because they are so loving and trusting that they are preyed upon! It’s really a sad situation because having a good heart should not make us targets but it does! She was a beautiful girl with such a lively spirit and a progressive outlook on life. Very smart and knew what she wanted! Stories like this just hurts my heart I tell you! S.I.P. Heavenly Angel! You are with your father God now! No if ands or but about any of it!

I realized that social media is as "safe" as meeting someone in a bar or a party. There is and never was a warranty on the kind of person one can meet through any of these ways. Acknowledge of character and personality is something that takes time and observation. Even people whom are married for many years find stuff, overtime, that doesn't work for them; let alone dangerous behaviour. All we can do is use as much common sense as possible and hope for the best. Greetings from Toronto.

And it's really disturbing that in this day and age there are people who seem completely in belief that they really are entitled to have someone who doesn't have any such feeling for them. As if they were dealing with a dog that ran off when they opened a door and goes after them and try to put a leash on them?

If someone wants to meet "online", they are taking a huge risk... most people meet in real life in school/uni, clubs, bars etc where they can assess a person more intimately as well as their friends...

It’s insane to me how it takes murdering someone for stalking to be a thing in our world of justice in whatever country they’re in.
