Miley's done good work since then, but nothing this simple and exquisitely from her roots. I realize she is young and wants to experiment while her Muse is upon her. But, I'd love to be able to get CDs of all of these Backyard Sessions.

I wish she would do a country/folk/acoustic album, it really suits her voice tone

That depends on the person and their upbringings. I think she could be a little more, not too much, conservative in her ways, but if it makes her happy, then so be it. She's young and has time to make her own mistakes and learn from them. When the time comes for her to find her way with God, as you are saying she needs to, then she will. I don't feel it's my place to decide what she needs anyway. She'll know what she needs when she realizes she's without it; to each his/her.

I really appreciate Miley, she does whatever the duck she wants and doesn’t give a shit. Definitely a artist without borders.

Here we are 11 years later and this is still gold. I got into a discussion about how we boomers feel when our classic favorites get covered by contemporary artists. Most of it makes us cringe - soulful ballads backed with screeching synth and noises and artificial percussion, etc. - but this stays true to the spirit of the original while putting Miley's unique sound on the vocals. I'd love to hear more like this.

Y'all not very educated on this subject. - About rappers: they can often sing as much as any other pop artist, which is fine. If you think of Em's hooks and believe that it's autotune only, well, I can't help you. It's far more complex. - Every audio engineer uses autotune on pop artists' tracks, it's common. They don't even have to know it. - Autotune doesn't necessarily mean you get a voice like T-pain, in fact, if used the way it was intended to be, you can't hear it at all. That's right.. - .. autotune IS pitch correction. Melodyne is now taking over in this subject, but both are still used. I love this song. Miley Cyrus in my opinion is one of the most underrated artists. Her voice is miraculous!

I feel like her singing this predicted how her life is going right now... I hope she'll find her way back to herself.

Have you ever considered the possibility she doesn't want to go back to this? I mean lets say you were viewed as one thing for years to the general public. Pressured to act a certain way and stay in the same image for the rest of your life. Granted this doesn't justify some of the stuff shes done, but I can't blame miley.

GTyler Stevens Well, I can understand that, but it feels like she doesn't actually want to act the way she does. It seems so natural for some other people to act in similar ways, but it just kinda seems wrong when she does it. And no, I don't say that because of hannah montana. I didn't even watch that.

Fantastick Roze I don't completely think it has anything to do with Hannah Montana. I just see disappointing expressions anytime she sings songs like this. She looks miserable and tries to hide it.

GTyler Stevens Might be. She basically grew up in the spotlights. That's not a great youth :/ It just seems she completely lost who she really is now. I think she was already losing that, but it's gotten way worse ..

I can't i am a fan, or know much about, young pop stars. But she is a young dynamo. What a voice. She completely nails this classic song.

When I was a kid, Melanie released this song and I sang along with it whenever it played on the radio; it was one of the first non-classical songs I learned for piano. Miley's version is amazing. Love her, hate her, you cannot deny she has talent.

She should do another one of these Backyard Sessions this year. They sound really good and I think a lot of people still don't realize how good of a singer she actually is :)

I like Jolene in the sessions too!. Probably just because I like that song though. She has a good voice. But to me it is like she doesn't deserve to sing these session songs just because she also chooses the songs she does for a living. But that's just me being old. And I know that.

Everybody has a reason to exist and I hope Miley.c knows how her existence is important to her and everyone out here...bravo miss...I wish you happiness

Outstanding version. She has the quality every singer in the world searches for. Much, much better than the original. She really shines on these Backyard Sessions. I hope there's more to come than just the other 2.

Six Million 4 Truth Since I found these videos of her BEFORE, I have compassion for her. She is a M.K and deserves to be saved. She is not doing the thing she is doing in purpose. She looks sick, under a spell and controlled.

You should consider that there are people in the world who are atheist (like me). So in my opinion it's better if you posted instead of pray something like workout. Workout is in over 80% cases cheaper than giving money to Church. Btw this comment is not directed towards hating religion or church, it's just a suggestion. :)

Is it only me, or this is a prophetic song? Miley, an innocent, beautiful, talented girl, not touched by falsity, like we can see in this song and those around this period, became Someone else. Someone changed her song and mind, like the lyrics state, and I don't understand why! The simplicity of her clothes and the natural beauty of her smile make me hope she would someday re-discover her inner self, the true one!

I'm 45; and so both Miley the kid and Miley the rebellious upstart never appealed to me. In fact, I dislike the latter...quite a lot. This session shows me this girl is a real star. She absolutely nails both of this song and 'Jolene'. What a voice!

Can tell she really is deep into these lyrics and has prolly heard this song a million times, its pretty wonderful to watch

Just watched the version of this song miley upload recently and it made me so happy it showed me miley is pretty much the same💗

She's gorgeous with a stunning voice.

This young lady has an unusual voice, to put it mildly, but there is a plaintive element to her sound that makes an old (76) man want to protect and cherish her soul. Be of grace and good health young one.

And here we go again with the "backyard sessions" that is better than ever

She really does have a beautiful voice. I just wish she would use it for more songs like this instead of BB Talk, and her other new songs. But it's her life, she should do what she wants as long as she's happy with it.
