She clearly has a lot of respect for the music that has gone before her. And for that she deserves enormous respect.

I'm 63 years old and I've loved Miley since I use to watch Hannah with my daughter many years ago. I've watched her grow up and I think she's now a beautiful young woman who has overcome so much judgement for the things she does. I love how fun she is and above all she has a beautiful voice and Ivwish her all the success and happiness in the world.

I always say about her - whatever you think of her (and who cares about what she does in her personal life, really!) this young lady can S I N G. Doesn't need all the bells and whistles. Just her voice is amazing.

I truly love miley’s ability to artistically articulate her raw emotions into her songs, to create an instinctive sound using her unique vocals. It makes her so memorable.

Her vocal range is incredible. Like her or not, she can bloody sing. What an amazing cover, I'm so glad she's back and doing things like this. I missed seeing her challenge herself taking on classic songs and making them her own.

crojalwol beautiful covers all of them, but there's no reason to judge her for no knowing them, there always space for new smilers to join the fandom.

Whether you like her or not, it is obvious she was born to perform. When she sings, you can't help but listen. She just grabs your attention and holds it.

I'm 59 years old and I have never, ever, ever heard that song sung so beautifully and with so much passion, even the original isn't as beautiful as that! It made me cry!! Wonderful, thank you Miley, you're a lovely person and have so much soul! xx

As a Smiler, I love when she sings her own songs because she proves every time that she sounds exactly if not better than her studio versions but my favorite thing is when she covers classic songs and makes them her own. She truly proves her talent and voice range. You may like Miley or not, but can't deny she can sing and put emotion on everything she does.

Christina Aguilara's, "Hurt." Ms. Aguilara pours raw emotion into her music. That said, she has some, not many, songs I don't care for. On the contrary, I've YET to hear Miley Cyrus sing a song I don't LOVE!

Miley's musical soul allows her to play with the rhythm and groove of a song so that it can breathe. I'm 48 and loved Roberta Flack and Miley's version. I cried more during Miley's version. Our feelings flow out of us when we sing. It's not just music.

I think she is one of today's best singers.

Miley is an amazing artist. I can’t get enough of her covers songs she does either her touch. She is so underrated as an artist. Truly talented. This brought me to tears her emotions.

Roberta Flack's "First time" always had special meaning for me. Playing on repeat once a month I would reminisce about how the love of my life never fully worked out. Now, Miley's version will share the pain with Roberta's.

I love her... I don't know why I'm crying, and I'm an old guy...The Roberta Flack version of this beautiful song is maybe the most emotional for me, also the one from Johnny Cash, but Miley always put something different, something new...I don't know...she has so much soul in her singing. Where in heavens name did THAT tender voice come from??? I love Miley, have watched many dozens of her videos and performances, and most have a power theme. The start of this was so very gentle I was shocked. I know she has been singing since she was a little girl, and I mean professionally. And she was so busy all the time on tour and in the studio. Thank God for her family being with her, supporting her and making sure she developed a great work ethic and kept improving her voice and her on-stage presence. Truly a staggering young talent with years to go. And yes, like all of us older folks, we all went through our "wild time" so I am thrilled to hear Miley truly stretch her voice and and yet bring all the love and tenderness to a song when it is the right thing to do. Wow, what a simply beautiful redition of this song. Oh, I also love her relationship with Ellen and with Jimmy Fallon.....they are great friends and I think those TV performances are helping her "grow up" too. Thanks Miley.

This is how pure talent sounds like.

It's actually Ewan MacColl's 'The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face', written for his then lover, later wife, Peggy Seeger in 1957 (and BBCRadio1VEVO should have known that, seeing as MacColl was English, albeit of Scottish parentage). Roberta Flack's lovely 1972 recording is perhaps (!) a mite easier on the ear than the original - and I reckon Miley does a truly excellent interpretation based on Flack's version! Beautiful song...

Angelina Jordan Astar (born 2006) will be 12 this year, she hasn't been broken hearted yet. Myley's version has more emotion because she has been in love before. Jordan has a beautiful voice I love her Gloomy Sunday cover but to sing a song, your emotions sometimes spill out and everyone gets emotional, that's why Miley's version here is so good.
