Dolly’s version is still the best imo. Miley has a much more powerful and technically good voice, but I still think Dolly’s voice was the perfect voice for this song. She inhabited the role of the person singing this song flawlessly. I do love this cover, though!! Definitely my favorite cover of the song.

This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. I have disdain for the subsequent stuff (the airhead pop stuff), for her childish antics/gestures, and for her putting up the other music (if we can call it that) on a pedestal when its garbage that suited for the squalor.*

Her singing this song shows her true talent. By far better than her hip hop tracks. She has that deep down soul to pull off a classic country song of this magnitude. Id love to hear her try some patsy cline

She is a phenomenal singer, and rather provocative artist in terms of her presentation to the public, and the insanity of her live performances rivals that of Kiss. I find her to be an intentional parody of modern sexualized pop music. She also released an entire album for free, cause she acknowledges she doesn't actually need to make money off of her music at this point. So I respect her.
