I have always been socially awkward, but sometime around my late 30’s I decided just to rush in and talk to people and if they didnt like how ‘weird’ I was then they could move away. I got tired of regretting not talking to people or obsessing about how ‘silly’ or ‘weird’ I looked to others. I definitely put my foot in it more than a few times but you know what? No one died, no one laughed, a few were pissed off but then who cares? They were not my peeps. Just go for it Taylor! The people that mean the most to you accept you exactly how you are. I love that yellow you are wearing and your bra-let patterns. And right now I especially appreciate all the fleece talk as I am just getting into spinning. Thank you for all the very important details.

Social awkwardness - the struggle is real! So many of us are out of practice and now avoiding social situations because they come with serious hangovers (like 3 am panic attacks). We all need to give each other time, patience, and kindness as we come out if isolation. 💕

Hi Taylor! That plant is Elecampane. It's also medicinal. It won't do much this year but will be spectacular next year!! Your fleece processing is done with such care and love. I find it inspirational. A medium fleece is my favorite to work with. Not too greasy and you can easily card OR comb. I was in Frederick as well after MDSW--I wish I had checked out Magpie.

Good grief! Your garden has transformed quickly! A few weeks ago it was just dirt and sticks. How exciting! I nearly swooned at your footage in the fibre shed. The fleece you washed looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Oh my your fleece is gorgeous! What a find! I look forward to seeing it spun up. I like hearing about how you go about processing your fleece. I haven't tried soaking and then scouring. I usually go straight to scouring. I may give your method a try as I have just purchased Gotland and Shetland fleeces.

Such a lovely podcast. I thoroughly enjoyed your garden tour as I am moving in a week and this year will be about establishing gardens where there are none. Loved watching how you wash fleece...always something to learn from one another.

I loved how you shared your processing of your fleece! I never considered trimming the ends if they didn't suit my needs. That is such a smart idea. :)

When the staple length is long enough, it’s much easier than trying to comb through the damaged ends! ♥️❤️🧡😊

I let a famous indie yarnie cut ahead of me in line at The Knot House because her little one was anxious to leave, but I still did not actually say "hi" or "I love your yarn" or anything normal because when you look up "socially awkward" in the dictionary it's just a picture of me sweating profusely. 🤣

Taylor, are you growing nettles for tea? We have been drinking nettle/ hibiscus leaf tea with some honey…… oh so delicious! This was super interesting watching you prep the fleece and wash it! I had no idea the work that goes into getting the fleece into “yarn”! The kitties loved that fleece too! Loved the color of the Magpie yarn you got too! Hugs, ClaudiaSJI

Yes, we have made tea but I seem to grow it quicker than I can store and consume it!

@@TaylorOwen well yes, it’s the very early tender tips that are the best for tea making. After seeing the advanced growth of your plants I can see you are way ahead of us growing wise. We have had very cold temps, little sun, and wind! We lost our power just two days ago due to a falling tree! Oh the kitties were happy with that fleece huh?
