Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Thanks for joining me to see the highlights and mistakes from Maryland Sheep & Wool. I got tee shirts from Madder Root, festival merch, and some kits I had given up hope of ever finding! I loved every minute, even though the trip didn't quite go the way I thought it would!
I'm glad to be home and to see you! Thanks! I love you! Bye!

Hey there! Thanks for the shout-out at the start of your video! So glad you stopped by even if you didn't pick anything up from us. BeadBiz has the rights to sell the Tsarina patterns 😊, and we actually dye yarn for some of their shawl kits! Hope to see you at another show sometime this year! Or in the future!

My plan was to come back, but the weather chased me away early!
It was so nice to meet you Trish! (Ya'll she is just as delightful in person as she is on KZread.) Thank you so much for bringing me goodies! I haven't had a chance to take pictures to post yet. I had to borrow a coat and boots from my nephew to wear that day because it was so cold. We only stayed a couple of hours, it was all we could stand of the weather. My brother built a fire in the fireplace when we got home. We also saw a bunch of cars stuck in the mud while we were leaving the Fairgrounds, there were several tow trucks there helping to pull cars out. I left MD Sunday morning at 48 degrees and arrived to 107 in Texas! I love the Tsarina sock patterns, it's exciting that you found that!
I first went to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival in 1985. I looked forward to it every year. I could not get a hotel room so I didn't go. Things happen for a reason. I would not have liked the rain and cold. So next year I will make arrangements early so I don't have to sleep in my car. Yes, I have done that. Glad you had a good time. Maybe we can meet up next year. Love your podcasts.
So sorry our usually beautiful and beloved Maryland weather didn't cooperate this year, but hope you and Luther did indeed enjoy your time at S & W. Love all the goodies you took home! And we'd all love a meetup! What fun!

I loved it all anyway!
Hey - this is a guilt-free zone for us and you! WE love watching you and what you create - I'm inspired every time I watch. If you get a meet-up planned, fine, if not, no worries. I promise we'll still watch. ;-)
Oh, those wheels in that tent. Heaven indeed
omg Trish! hot tip from an Australian Victorian: no matter what the weather forecast, always... ALWAYS! pack a coat. It can be the height of summer here in Victoria Australia, and we'll have some other layer to add to our outfit sitting handy for us.
Glad you could take your fur bestie with you! That makes those long trips way more fun.
Wow! A lot of spinning wheels! Loved seeing the sheep 🐑 t-shirts.

It was so much fun!
I am so glad you enjoyed your Ups of the trip inspite of the cold and rain and the other downs!! I am really enjoying learning from your videos and your love & passion for Our Fiber Fun!!
That’s a shame about the weather, but so fun to see a fiber festival after so long with none to go to!
So happy you found Ronda
It did look awfully muddy and cold but looks like you had some fun. And seeing Rhonda was a cool surprise. The rental was super cute and the co pilot is a handsome dude. Nice turn out even with bad weather.
I'm SO glad you had a good time despite the weather. I would have loved to say hi at the festival, but we musta missed each other. I was wearing a grey sweater and my red cloak/capelet I'd sewn myself, which had a HUGE hood and was made of two layers of wool sweater fabric so I managed to stay (mostly) dry and warm. This was my first Maryland Sheep and Wool, and wow it was rainy and muddy (SO glad I wore rain boots, I sank up to my ankles in one of those muddy puddles) but I still had a great time. Won an Ashford spinning chair at auction (and talked with some lovely people there), got a used wheel that I'm in love with, got wool from breeds I haven't spun yet so I can branch out and keep learning to spin with easy pretty wool (especially excited about the Jacob I found), saw cute sheepies and heard their baaaas from all over, and spent time with my friend and my brother who don't have any interest in doing fiber arts but loved learning about them, seeing the sheep, and hanging out
😂welcome to the east coast Trish! It was a good thing I didn't get the chance to go... Those wheels! OMG! You would have to have me drug out of there (with kicking n screaming 😁) because the walking wheels! 9h 😍 Short of the mud, wind, & wet... It does sound like you had a blast! Thank you for sharing the festival with us. Maybe I'll be able to get the chance... Plus save up $$$ for a fleece and a wheel 😉 Glad you also got some down time in on Mother's day too! Love ya Trish!
I would of loved all the stalls but hated the weather haha, love the tshirts and the maryland hoodie. Love the place you got to stay in, and so glad you got to see ronda. I would love to make it to a festival this year but it all depends on work now. Please stop feeling bad it's all OK we all understand and we all love you, I'm just gutted I'm in the uk lol. Love the sock kits I couldn't do them can't wait to see them made, so much love and light trish and John xx
Glad that you had a good trip despite the things you feel were poorly planned. Meeting people that you’ve met online is the best! Hope the repair on your car isn’t a major one. 🤞
Thanks for the look around MDSW. I’ve never seen it. And, girl, you have the most beautiful hair!
You are WAY too hard on yourself! It’s easy to say what you should’ve done, looking backwards, but there’s no way you could’ve known your feelings ahead of time. This is like how you tell us…..it’s a step on your success journey. ♥️ I’m so glad you had a wonderful time, and I’ll see you in Allegan! Hopefully I’ll be vending, but they haven’t replied yet. Either way, I’ll be there!
I couldn’t believe I ran into you. I was trying not to fan girl out on you. Lol. I thought you needed a raincoat but figured that it was your thick Michigan blood. My daughter has become so inspired to crochet since the festival and has subscribed to Ravelry. We had lots of fun. I almost purchased a fleece but wasn’t so confident about my knowledge of breeds. Will check out your breed studies. Glad you had fun and so glad you found Rhonda! I think you were in front of me in the arrival line. I parked way out because I was afraid to turn right. Should have followed your lead!
Trish, you are so sweet, but you need to go easier on yourself. We don't own you. That Willow Ware sock pattern looks amazing. I can't wait to see you knit it! Glad you had a laid back Mother's Day.
There were a lot more people at the festival on Sunday than usual so I think the weather made the difference. I bought some Gotland roving because I have never spun that breed! I posted the earrings I purchased. I had to bring home a bag of kettle corn. I also found an extremely thin single ply wool for plying. Very excited about using that. Kansas Barn was not there. I really like seeing new wheels and looms so I was disappointed with that. Otherwise, I enjoyed the time. It was windy. but the sun was out. I live 1.5 hours away so I am able to go every year. What a blessing! So glad you were safe and that you enjoyed your trip. See you Sunday. Blessings.

Was a great show. Sold all my fleeces, so I’m really happy!
Sounds like a great trip! Thank you for sharing!
What a beautiful experience! Thank goodness there’s always next time for a meet up.
Holy crap, you were there!? My housemate and I went for the first time ever! I bought my very first raw fleece in the other version of heaven (that's actually how I found your channel, lol, cuz I'm learning how to process it)! I've been learning to needle felt and since Christmas and she has been crocheting for years. It was SO MUDDY AND WINDY though, for sure, we went Saturday too and it was so lousy! Everyone was remarking on how unseasonably cold the weather was (I didn't dress right either, and was very cold!). My mask actually got so wet that I had to change it out, lol! Like you, though, we 1000% considered it worth the journey down from PA for it! I'm glad you had a good time! We're definitely gonna go back next year, hopefully the weather won't suck! Also, next time you're in that area, if you like sushi, check out JY Sushi in Eldersburg, it's about 15 minutes from the fairgrounds (I used to live there :D)!
That auction tent filled with wheels and looms made my jaw drop! 🤣
I live here in Maryland and have never been to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. It's on my bucket list. Also a little tip for those that are traveling to Maryland from points west, to avoid the tolls on the PA Turnpike, take I-79 south from the Washington (Pittsburgh) area, through West Virginia, then take I-68 east which will head into Maryland and end at Hancock, MD and if you continue east you will be on I-70 east, which is what the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is alongside of.
Too bad it was so cold and wet. I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway. It's so awesome that you found the sock kits.
YAY! Ronda deserves all the hugs from all of us, Brooke Shields! :D

Wow. What a big festival. We had one over here in Utah. Feel so lucky to have this in my area... well ish.. but wow! What a cool display of all the wheels, and that festival is amazing! BtW Totally love all your videos! Thank you for sharing your fiber adventures with us. :)
Yyyyeeeeow! Those sock kits are amazing! Looking forward to MFF. Hugs!!
I really wish I would have seen you there. I didn't stay long because of the weather. I feel like a wimp because I live about 45 minutes from where this event was held. Atleast I bought my 1st fleece and my daughter got me camel fur
Wow blue willow socks! That is amazing! Can’t wait for you to make them.
Thanks for sharing the atmosphere of the festival. I’ve never been to a fibre festival… The weather looks crazy! How great that you met a couple of people. I bet they were thrilled.
I’m sorry I missed you! I love watching videos of fiber festivals that I go to because it gives a different perspective of the same thing. Next time I’ll see you 😀
Loved EVERY minute of your video today. Fun Fun Fun. We have a wet same temps day you had there, so I was in the correct "atmosphere" to watch.
You should do a knitting circle or something like that in August for a meet and greet!!!
Hi. I am watching your video while traveling on bus from Athens to Sparta. I will be attending a weaving seminar over the next 12 weekends. Stop beating up yourself. Enjoy your journey. It is a learning process, and each time you will be better at something. The same goes for me. After 2 weeks of travel, I am better at choosing suitable clothes, accommodation and meeting with people I know. Hope you always find the silver lining. Have fun, even when things are not as you want them to be. PS: Love your t-shitrs.😊
That is pretty cool to get to go to a festival! Love your puppy!

I would have love have gone. Most people did say it was very cold and wet. They where complaining about automobiles 🚙 got stuck in mud. Love the shirts 👕
Michigan Fiber Fest 2022 Yus!!
I went to my first fibre fest ever, and it was truly amazing and their I picked up fibre it was so nice just to feel the fibre and see people in person.
I just found your channel because I was looking for podcasts on Maryland Sheep and Wool. I’m so so glad. I really enjoyed your whole episode. Your attitude about the weather, etc was terrific. Glad you found your sock patterns that you’ve been looking for. They seemed a bit much for me-I’m a real beginner, especially with socks. I really wished I had made plans to go to Maryland. It looked wonderful in spite of weather. I adore Luther. What a cutie pie he is! I so want to go to Rhinebeck this year. I had planned to go last year but my little dogs were sick so I cancelled my plans. But maybe this year! If so, I’ll see you! What fun.
Glad to see you found a few goodies!
Hopefully, I’ll be able to get to the Michigan fiber fest and meet up with everyone! Even with the rain and cold I’m sure MD fest was great. Can’t wait to see those sock kits finished. They’ll be beautiful!
Glad you had a good trip. I hope the repair is covered under warranty
That show looked amazing. We do have country fairs here in the UK but I have NEVER seen a used fibre craft booth before. It’s probably just as well because I would come home bankrupted 😂
It sounds like you had a great time, thank you for sharing with us. I can't wait to see your socks when they're finished.
I am glad that you had a great time.
I'm so glad you had a good time
Glad you had a good time. It sounds like you got to relax and have fun!
Wow! What an amazing trip! I would love to attend something like this.
Absolutely love the t shirts.
Thank you for letting us be part of your trip! It looked amazing, especially the tent of auction wheels and looms. Glad to hear you had a glad time. ❤
Can’t wait to see you knit up those socks! I saw that booth with all the sock kits, but am only an “advanced beginner” knitter. Maybe next year. Glad you went and hope you plan to come on down again. We’ll order some better weather next time :)
That looked amazing! Glad you had a good time. Those socks look beautiful
Absolutely I would love a meet-up in Michigan. No pressure. Just a get together.
Glad you managed to have fun. Still kinda sucks about the weather and place you were staying regardless. Love the shirts and sock kits. Glad your "pony" vehicle/ride) got you home safely. Nothing worse than a fear at the back of your mind that the car might break down when traveling and especially with furry friends lol.
Cute shirts! Wish there was a fiber festival like that in Oregon.
I always love hearing about the festivals and seeing vlogs! Those used equipment and fleeces do look like heaven! I would love to say hi at the Michigan Fiber Festival :-). I will be going with my mom, mother in law and sister. We went for the first time last year and it was amazing! I hope to participate as a vendor in the future, in the meantime more dying needs to be done :-).
I love to see a better view of Luther. We just lost our apricot mini poodle. So sad

Thank you.
Thanks for sharing the fun. I worked has a letter carrier and we used to wear Gore-Tex and work all through the rain without any worries
You can't go wrong with a good Tshirt! I've thought about doing a mini meet up over here in UT because I'd like to hang out with other tribe members, but the thought of it is overwhelming.
I will be at MFF demoing my sock machine :)
Looks like it was a lot of fun!
so glad you a good time
Sounds like so much fun. You getting choked up over meeting tribe members is so sweet. Can you imagine what it would mean to us to meet you!! Thanks for all you do!
I just found your channel! You seem like such a sweet person! I am so glad I am here now. :)
Looks like you had a great time.
Hope to get to that festival one day! Planning to go to the Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival (near Nashville) in a few weeks. It’s small…but closer to home. 🙂
I love madder root!
I've been at festivals in pouring rain and inclement weather before. It really does put a damper on the weekend if you don't have good gear. Looks like it was fun though!
OMG I have that Willow Ware kit! I got it at Rhinebeck years ago, but it’s too precious to knit 😜
Would love to try attend a festival like this! :)
I am so jealous!
Glad you had a good trip, wish the weather would've been better for you! Thanks for sharing as being over here in Arizona I will probably never get the chance to go.
He is so cute.
I was there at the same time as you, sorry I missed you. I would haved loved to meet you
I'm a little behind on my episodes and trying to catch up. I so wish I knew you were going to be here in Maryland that weekend!! I've never been one to post, but you inspired me to start my own channel last year to document my fiber journey as I branch out. I would have LOVED to met up with you & Luther!! Hopefully next year :) Are you thinking of going to Rhinebeck this year??
@FiberLoveDiary
2 жыл бұрын
We have been planning to go to Rhinebeck almost since I had to change my plans last year. But that said, gas prices are making us a little skittish about traveling with our camper, so I guess we'll see!
Those t-shirts are so cute! You know even though the weather was not that great, just getting out of the area for a bit after everyone being cooped indoors for so song, was something positive to experience. Now I want to plan a trip to a wool festival.
This is the best story - I feel like I was there with you! So glad you got to meet up with some of the tribe!
uddy!this is superb ,;)
Love all of the goodies you acquired, and am so glad you arrived home safely in spite of the weather and car issues! :) I soooo want to go to a festival right now, but this was the next best thing, so thanks for sharing your exploits and adventures! :)
Now, I want to go to a fiber festival. I can see it would be a dangerous event.
Just discovered your channel so i didn't even know to look for you there but i also had a blast at the festival!

I feel like I need a black sheep now
I wish I could have been there, even with challenging weather ☁️ Thanks for sharing! You are such an inspiration 🥰
I am certainly going to plan to visit a wool festival in a few years. My region of the US is all about cattle, horses and bison. I’m looking forward to your sock kit video! Thank you for sharing and happy Mom’s day.
What a lovely rental! I’m so glad you two were able to go on such a fun adventure. Wow those are going to be amazing socks!
The shorts are too cute
You should have stopped in Reading Pa and picked me up
You went all by yourself! You're so brave!!! Marking my calendar for next year❤
I'm so glad you had a good time, love the new t-shirts, can't wait to see how your sock kits knit up... and I'm hoping to go to the Michigan Fiber Festival, it would be so cool to be there at the same time as you and other Tribers!! Love you all!!!!
It sounds like you had a really great time even with the glitches in planning. I hope some of our small festivals will finally happen this year in upstate NY. Looking forward to seeing your new socks knit up.
Rain or shine one must go to the fibre fair/market lol.
Sounds like a wonderful visit even with some hiccups
I hope I can make it to a festival this year! 🤞
I was curious about the sock madness on how you were doing?
