I went to Maryland Sheep and Wool on Saturday with my daughter and it wasn’t very crowded except for maybe the food booths at lunch time, probably the rain kept it from being too busy. It was my first time there and we loved it!

Since it's already been 10 days since you posted, you may have already decided on your button hole band coloring, but I would definitely vote for picking up with the dark color. That would frame the stripes. It seems to me that if you picked up with the gray and did the ribbing without that dark pickup, the stripes would look like they've been left hanging.

Love the sweater. Why don't you knit the 2 sleeves at the same time to ensure the dyed yarns match until you run out. Then whatever you dye after will also match for the rest of the sleeves.

Thanks so much for bringing me (and the rest of your viewers) along on your trip. Your sweater is GORGEOUS! Great sewing projects. Pjs are great “get back into it” projects, because they’re not going into public. If the hem isn’t perfect (or sleeves are different from the bottom), no biggie… if it doesn’t bother you. 😉 Once you get a pants pattern that fits, you can learn how to adapt that pattern to different looks, and whip out a pair of pants in a few hours, because you know it all fits, even the hem. 🙂

OMG, my head is reeling. What an amazing episode. The light in your eyes when you were talking about the E spinner?? I think you should get one, and not the 3-D printer variety. Get the good one. You know, (I know you know!) that a good piece of equipment is going to further your outcome, whereas "cheaping out" is a recipe for frustration. As to your sweater, my first inclination was to say dark double pickup band , gray and then dark. Then, upon reflection, I wondered if that was going to be too much - - too stripey. I think the gray pickup with the dark edging will satisfyingly "match" the bottom ribbing edge. I still love the idea of the polo collar, but you know what you're about... The white blouse is lovely nothing dental hygienist about it at all. The fabric is luscious. Your bathrobe and jammies are mega fun and it looks like you've done a fabulous job on all. I am so impressed and inspired by your energy... And I just love seeing the twinkle in your eye! Thanks, Roxanne, for all that you give us!

I was planning to go on Sunday and hoping to run into you there - that would’ve been a thrill - but after a full day out in the rain on Saturday I wussed out and stayed home on Sunday. Probably just as well, as it is too easy for me to impulse buy from the great vendors there.

I don't have any trouble with the double needle on my machine, but I have an old Bernina 830 from the 70s. Perfect tension, all the time. I had a coverstitch machine and I sold it. Maybe I am old fashioned but I didn't like it that much.

I guess I'm an oddball -- I think picking up in grey on the sweater with the dark blue only for the edging would be visually simpler. Two vertical bands of dark blue may create a busier visual that might draw attention away from and compete with the beautiful horizontal stripes. I'd probably have to create both and then spend days agonizing over the choice. 😆

If you only tried the Nano you really should give the EEW 6.1 a try. I have one and absolutely love it. I did start with the Nano as I wasn’t sure if I’d like an E spinner at all and the price was great. I ended up selling it once the EEW 6.1 arrived. There are quite a few people in my online spinning guild who really love their EEW’s too. So much more affordable than the Hanson or Daedalus.

@@susancrosby4363 I tried both of the e spinners they had in their booth. Didn't like either one. That's the thing about spinning wheels: what one person likes, another person detests. It was the same when I tried treadle wheels. There were wheels I absolutely hated (which many people really like, and which I *wanted* to like, but just couldn't), and others that I adored.

I think the two dark stripes around the button band would look better, and echo the bottom ribbing. It's also great to see you get so excited about sewing and learning something new. If you want to find out how you measure up against standard sizing many pattern drafting books have standard measurements charts, the one most people recommend is by Helen Joseph-Armstrong.

Hi there, its great to see that you are back. I know you are an adult and allowed to do things by yourself but I was wondering where you were. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your time in Washington DC at the Festival, it sounded like a really huge and friendly group. I was listening and knitting while I watched and when the screen changed and the photos popped up it was amazing. Love the Jacob sheep and all their different bits and the wool. Then when you were modeling that was fantastic, you are doing so well with that , your knitting and dying projects. I had better get off here and leave others room to comment. So lovely to see you and hope to see you soon. Take care.
