Thank you for this video. I enjoyed it very much. I live in Missouri, now. But, when I lived in Pennsylvania, I loved to visit the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. It was the highlight of my year.
Evie, I admire your kid policy when taking videos. Nice overview of the festival. BTW, those are yellow jacket wasps not bees. Wasp stings hurt so much!
those geared spindles are gorgeous!! that Pendulum wheel was also really interesting to watch how it was used!
Good purchases. I've never heard of,let alone, seen a pendulum wheel. So cool.
So nice to see Robin of Dancing Goat. I met him and took workshops in Missouri a few years ago. Love your whole tour.
Big praying mantis you showed - not exactly stick bug but great beneficial bug - eats the bad bugs!!
"It's corn" drinking game!
What a fun trip that must have been! Thanks for taking us along!!
I love wool festival!!!🦙🐑🐑🐑
Cool festival. Vendors may be selected simply on whether their wares might be of interest to attendees. Those spinning baskets are attractive. It would make spinning and walking very easy.
I’m so glad you took the backroads and got to see how beautiful it is here in the summer. I live about an hour away and I’d be ecstatic to come meet you!! The festival was awesome this year and I went home with a lot of clouds.
What a great a fun episode!! The pendulum wheel was INSANE!!! Also I love the geared spindle. I want one!!!!
Wow, that looks like fun. I don’t know if I could go to one of those, I would spend too much Money!😂
I went on Sunday it was all rain. But still a lovely show.
I like watching them on the lathes making the spindles on KZread x
You filmed a praying mantis! I've only been to the Maryland Sheep and wool because it is only 1.5 hours away. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Blessings

I think I called it a stick bug 🤦♀️ Yes, it was a praying mantis. A big one!
I’m pretty sure basket weaving is a fiber art. Thanks for sharing your experience
The beginning reminded me of home (NW Indiana)! Now I'm going to look for fiber festivals!
So MUCH FUN!!!! 🥰🫶🏻🤩
Glad you noticed the yellow jacket! I got stung in my lip in high school drinking a Dr Pepper…landed at the ER and missed three days of school
Love Dancing Goats😁
Wow I was there on Saturday. Nice to see the place again... Too back I didn't see you... I would have said hi...
Thanks for the video I love to see festivals I don’t get to. Your stick bug was a praying mantis.
It was great seeing this video. Loved seeing your purchases, interviews, and the sheep. It akes spinning g the fiber more fun if you can connect with the animal.
Wow! Was that fun!
That was fascinating to watch and see all the vendors and their specialty. I love the Merino braids you got and the spinning wheel earing you got, however I would have to convert to clip on earings. I would love to go to these closer to my area, North Dakota. Thank you so much for sharing. Oh by the way, I purchased the Fleece and Fiber Source book. I love it, esp the history behind the sheep.
Thanks for sharing this experience 😊
Thank you for the video. I was at the show on Friday, it was my first time there and it was awesome!
Nice tour Jillian.
So disappointed I’m missing this, my husband and i will be in Wisconsin late this week and my SIL lives just a few minutes away from it. I should have looked into that before we booked our trip!
Thanks for taking us with you! The pendulum wheel is an amazing tool.
That basket is just too cute!! Those merino braids made me think of knitting a sorbet cardigan!
Thank you for taking us along. You got some great stuff and yay that you already used the basket for the spindle. Such a smart idea creating a basket especially for spindle spinning while walking. 🤩
eek….. that’s not a bee…. It’s a wasp! And they are very nasty. We are being overrun with them at the moment, and they are coming into the house. Our family has been on our farm since 1922 and our woolshed was built in 1930 and still has original equipment. Can’t wait until your flax episode. NZ “flax” (harakeke) is used a lot by Māori crafters.
Thanks for sharing🍀🌺🍀🌺🍀🌺
im planning on visiting the fiber festival in dallas thats starting soon, cool to see that theres others happening around the same time
I love those earrings and the shawl pins and the spindle and dish wow the merino is nice and the basket is so cool. Thank you so much for sharing this with us evie and Mark xx
So fun🥰 the sheep were so cute! The bee in youre drink😱.
Such a great video thanks for takibg us with you!
Everything from the drive to the piles of wares and baby sheepies looked so wonderful! Made me miss Wisconsin so much! (My husband is already talking about flying me back for next year!) Thank you so much for sharing! Excited to see you use your treasures in future videos!
That pendulum wheel is so cool! Thank you for letting me vicariously visit a fiber festival, a thing we don't really have here in Belgium.
Loved the vendor interviews! And the sheep!🐑🐑🐑
For starters I always remember every time I would visit my grandparents and their was corn EVERYWHERE! (We have grape vines everywhere 😅)Even across the street from their house by lake Tichigan was a field of corn. That first roving you touched 🥰 was so beautiful. That basket is amazing, I need one 😁. The wasp in the drink remind me of a time when I was about 8 one went in my drink but I didn't know it til it was in my mouth, thankfully mom got it out before it bit me. Looked like you had a wonderful time.
Love festival ❤. I always want to go to Wisconsin sheep and wool My good friends had booths there. I get to go to wool gathering this weekend. So excited. 😅. You can learn so much at festivals. My favorite thing is feeling the wool. We don’t have any wool in shops around me just yarn shops.
thanks for taking me along to WI..... I love what you do Evie! I'm learning so much from you!
Such a fun adventure!! I looooove the basket you got. 🥰
I’m sorry I live so far from even the nearest wool and fiber festival but I hope to attend one by 2024. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
I missed seeing you there! Wisconsin Sheep and Wool was so much fun. Shepards Harvest in MN is a fun spring festival if you can ever make it.
I fell in love with those Snyder spindles. I orerded two even if it costs loads to send them to Germany 🙈🤣
It’s corn!
Hi Evie! I'm sorry I missed you there! I also purchased a basket from Basket Artistry - I got the cute little one that hangs from my spinning wheel, and I bought the supported spindles from The Dancing Goats. I took Robin's tapestry class and also got one of his Tayet looms, they are so beautiful! I saw you were at the Wool, Warp & Wheel booth, they are up in Richmond IL and have a very cute little shop; everyone that works there is so nice! I was glad to see your video of the sheep, I didn't have a chance to go over there, I'm sorry I missed them. It looked like you had a great time, I know I look forward to it every year 🙂
So nice to see your video! I was there for the first time this year also, on Friday. It was so much fun that I hope to go back next year too...and maybe buy one of the fleeces (I resisted the purchase and am now a little sad that I didn't give in). Thanks for your fiber explorations and enjoyable videos.
Heck! I'm FROM wisconsin and had no idea we have a wool festival!
i loved seeing the sheeps, theyre so cute ! excited to see what comes of your new fiber acquisitions :)
So much fun! Crossing my fingers I’ll get to go to SAFF this year, this just made me excited to go to a fiber festive 😁
So many different things! Loved the baskets.
I learned about this festival too late - it’s only a few hours away! Thanks for sharing, maybe I’ll make it next year.
Omg! That looks like so much fun!
The sheep you called a scottish blackface that liked scratches is a Jacob and so is the one next to her that you called a 4 horn Navajo churro. Just correcting because I'm the owner and Jacob's aren't well known so I try to educate. The ewe (the one who loved scratches) is named Demeter and the ram is Zues. He is a lilac that bleaches out so it looks like he doesn't have spots, he was just dirty because he likes to lay in dirt at home.
This looks like so much fun! I'm going to my first fibre arts convention this up coming weekend, this made me even more excited to go!
Thank you! This was so fun!!!
your fiber fair was way bigger than the one I attended. I looked like so much fun. You had much better self-control than I did. I set myself a hundred-dollar budget and came home with $100 in fiber & ...... A new Ashford Kiwi III. Next time I'll have to leave my credit card home.🤣

Oh yeah I brought cash and when I ran out I went home!
Those baskets are fab. I've tried willow weaving, and made a few things, but don't have the facilities to take it up at home.
Looks like lots of fun!
Lovely acquisitions !
Thanks!
9:06 it was a wasp bee aren't gonna bother you when you have food outside 😂

Mark and Tom Snyder were having too much fun chatting for him to film me. 😅
Evie, the links you were going to put in? Thank you We are going to Rhinebeck next month: California to New York, via Connecticut !
It's corn! 🤣
This was a great video! Too bad I live in NC or I would have been there!
DUDE I ALMOST WENT TO THIS
It’s not a bee 🐝 it’s a wasp 🐝
Maple Hill Farm of Ladysmith, WI, was there selling their sheep cheese. Brian Michielson, who owns Maple Hill Farm, was talking about the antique shearers yesterday at our local farmers market. I'd love to go to the show one day. Thanks for sharing!
When we used to go to Ohio I would tease my father about corn on one side and then soy beans on the other then......I like the basket you chose. I would have chosen that one too. I wanted to ask you about Gotland. I love the color, however I had a roving that felted a bit before I spun it. I struggled with it but got it spun. It came out beautifully but I am wondering about what to make with it as I wonder if it will felt. Have you had any experience like this?
What is the little purple owl dish used for?
@JillianEve

I'm thinking of putting water in it for wet spinning flax, but it's food safe, so I could put little snacks in it too.
Is there any way you could caption this video?

Yes, I'm sorry they aren't done yet. They should be up within the week, so check for the cc to appear.
Also rudeness isn't the intention just in case but not a stick bug dat a preying mantis

Yes, I learned that later. Clearly I know my wool and yarn better than I know insects! 🐝😅
That was not a bee muh dear but a yellow jacket them things hurt an sting more then a bee an I've never seen a bee that looks like that I've seen mason bees, African honey bees and south American native stingless bees that is not them good thing you weren't stung
Incredibly disappointing to discover that you aren't masking in public spaces. I sure hope you don't get long covid, or transmit the infection to anyone who might die from it
Happy 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 halloween 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻
