if only mcdonald’s still had this level of service.

If they got paid well like they use to you would see higher level of service, but the greedy CEOs need more.

Ah, the good ol' days when people were polite and helpful and there were no cell phones.
those chrome registers have been embedded in my brain for 50 years from 79-80 i used to get lunch at the McDonalds every saturday that i lived 7 blocks away from i used to get 2 plain hamburgers a cheeseburger a large fry and a chocolate shake for like 3 dollars and 20 cents

They should train their employes like this today and i think they should bring back the hot dispenser where they have the sandwiches ready in advance so the service is faster.

The production bin could only hold food for 10 minutes whereas now they can hold disassembled products in the kitchen for much longer so I cannot see it returning anytime soon. The new system also gives the impression it's made freshly for each order - when it isn't.
Each customer should be treated like a person…well said.

$3.59 for a whole meal seeks cheap but in 1974 it is a lot of money 💰 taking inflation into account

$3.59 in 1974 is equal to $22.40 today. I don’t go to mcdoodles but I would bet at today’s inflated prices a shake, coke, coffee, Big Mac, quarter pounder, regular burger, two regular fries and a pie will cost way more than $22.40.
keep at it Debbie!
My dad was only a one year old when this was recorded lol He was born in '73

McDonalds 1970s - Don't be a robot. McDonalds 2070s - We have the fastest robots in the industry.
I remember this from my McDonald's days 30 years ago... I saw the thumbnail and immediately thought, in a panicked voice, "courtesy cup? Courtesy cup!!" Love them all, now to find one called "credibility gap..."
I can't even walk up to a McDonald's counter and order a coke. McDonald's doesn't even know how to identify a customer anymore.

Because what the hell is there to be happy about working at a fast food place where you’re already treated like shit, plus faking kindness or happiness is so draining
It’s like the Brady bunch opened a McDonald’s.
No mention of "When you place the burger on the bun TRY to put in in the CENTER not off to the side !" 🍟🍔

I think the guy who played the role of the McDonald's manager (at 6:42) was Arthur Howard, one of the many ensemble players, on the PBS show Square One Television.
McDonalds was full of service back in the day.. Now its.."what ya want and get out"
You are not a machine but in the future you will be replaced by one
That lisp goes with the glad to work at McDonald's attitude.
when fast food wasn't considered a McJob.
Try and find a McDonalds today that has a working milk shake machine 🙄
I wished people would act like robots when working at mcdonalds
It's good to be a pro

We’re all “happy” to help. She was not just looking at her look. Well at least she believe it
her hand touched the fries - cut it off
"What would happen if we all acted like robots?" In the future (ie today) McDonald's is steadily replacing all staff with robots.

This Whammy burger doesn't look like the picture!
I wonder where these people are now and one of them has my name ( DRBBY ) 😉
These 1974 employees need to train 2024 employees The 1 minute technique happens today, if your lucky, today, they take their sweet time, your lucky to get your order in less than five minutes, the customer service reps are sometimes on their phone screaming or whatever, totally not focusing on the customer, then to top it all off they give you an attitude. And heaven help you if your having a bad day and get upset with the manager because they didnt get your order right, they will deny you service.
And now... A COMPUTAH... TOOK YO PLACE, DADDY!!!!!! THAT'S HARD TIMES!!!!!

So much care for such unhealthy, trashy, mass-produced food - what a juxtaposition!
Step 4, Present food to customer. Step 5 , Take the money. 3:58 I remember those days. Today it's Step 1, Take the money. Step 2, Ignore the customer. Step 3, toss cold food towards customer and don't make eye contact. 😂

Ha! I worked retail in the 1980s and seeing the folks now who don't make eye-contact or cop an attitude if you ask for help , would send my old manager to the fainting couch.
I don't even know what I'm doing. A gook could be standing three feet in front of me, and I wouldn't know it. I'm so tired. It's scary 'cause nobody tells me how to do anything 'cause I'm new, and nobody cares about the new guys. They don't even wanna know your name. The unwritten rule is a new guy's life isn't worth as much 'cause he hasn't put his time in, yet. And they say, if you're gonna get killed in the Nam, it's better to get it in the first few weeks. The logic being: you don't suffer that much.
