True. If I think that most people I hung out with and considered very close just 10 years ago are nothing but complete strangers to me nowadays already it's amazing. But real friends in life are few. Very few, at the end of the day. Most are just like movie extras. They come n' go.

The McDonalds from the 1989 video seemed so warm and inviting. It's a place where you would actually dine, instead of a glorified convenience store. The workers also seemed happy too. Hard to believe it's the same exact McDonalds.

honestly i'm prob in the minority here but i like McDonald's current look i feel like the McDonald's when i was a kid growing up (born in 1988) always looked and felt really grimy and cheap. i remember it was the late 2000s when they really started to change the interior of the place and that's when i felt it was more "homey"

You guys missed the 70s that's when it was the best, up until early 80s , the price was stupid cheap, I think it was a quarter for a burger and 35 for cheeseburger. it stayed like that for a while, then mid 80s is when it went up a large jump, and the 2000 it went up double

It is amazing how quickly the years go by. I was 12 in 1989, about your age, I suppose. Yet, from 1989, it just seems to have gone so quickly. Like you get bogged down in finishing middle school, finishing high school, finishing college, establishing a career, finding a woman to marry, going through the dating, the engagement, the wedding, followed by more working in a monotonous job, along with raising children, that it just goes by without you really much figuring that you are over halfway finished with your life. I am now 45, but when I was 42 and the doctor said I was getting old, it seemed surreal. I guess the gray beard, baldness, aches and pains and less agility prove it, but it doesn't seem like it should be this soon. Just looking at your mom then, who was like almost ten years younger than I am now, and seeing that she is now 70, it puts into perspective just how short life really is. Cherish the time with your mom. Both of my parents have passed and I wish I could spend more time with them.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s, too. 43 and will be 44 at the end of Feb. So, 44 is nearly here hopefully. Not that I am happy to be getting older, but I hope that I will not be ded in that almost 3 month period of time and--from what I can tell--I rarely, if ever feel sickly(although I am T2 diabetic). And, I did have some decent times there(first b-day party that I remember was there). That being said, I know innocence is bliss, but anyone heard of Mickey D's stories hueman flessh and perishless food?! Though I ate there aplenty in the 1st 7/8 of my life: since I found out who they were, I do not plan on eating there ever again!

@@phildodson6141 My dad passed five years ago, and my mom passed ten years ago. My mom didn't even get to see my children and only saw one of her grandchildren, my brother's son. My dad saw all of his grandchildren, but because I was an older dad, the oldest was four years old when he passed. She remembers him, but my youngest daughter doesn't. She knows him only by pictures. I do prefer that time. The world is so evil now. I think we are in the end times. The governments have been taken over by principalities of evil. I much prefer the music, shows, movies, etc. of the 90s to today. Nearly every pop song I get an earful of sounds like crap. The crap the young adults listen to and like sounds awful, void of using instruments. No real talent, just a mass produced pile of dung. It is why I don't listen to it. I have heard of maybe five good pop songs in the past five years, and that is it. Country is deteriorating as a genre, too, though the rot set in at a later time than it did with pop. Rock is hardly even given airtime, and what I do hear is subpar to the stuff of the 80s and 90s. People used to make fun of groups like Nelson, but honestly, they sound ten times better than anything you hear today. Bon Jovi, Firehouse, etc were all superior to what we have today. Today's music is becoming increasingly garbage. One genre is good, Christian praise and worship, and along with the good message, the talent is far superior to those in pop.

@@pattrell5257 Yes, I have heard of them using human meat from aborted babies, and from the homeless. I can't confirm it, but since hearing someone connected to them say that, I choose not to eat there any longer. If I get fast food, I will get Wendy's, Culver's, or Chick-Fil-A. Keep your immune system strong going in through winter. My brother is a diabetic and nearly died from covid last year in December, but that could have been avoided if the corrupt hospital would have treated him properly with antibiotics and steroids when he first went in. They let it go on for like another week till he was at a point of near death. Thankfully, God pulled him through, and we saw a miracle after I sent out a mass call for prayer. Vitamin D and Vitamin C are really important. I'm prediabetic, so I also need to watch what I eat better than I do. I also had covid, "delta variant", and I was sick for about two months. Had pneumonia, but it wasn't as bad as my brother. I'm convinced that covid is a "by-0-wepin", intended to be the scare tactic to get the "jabba juice", another "wepin".

Cute video. In 1989 I was 24. Today I am 58 and I remember how McDonald’s looked like back then. How time flies. Thanks for this video. It’s good to have friends that stick around for a long time.
This is really wholesome, going back to a place years later that’s existed for probably your whole lifetime will just bring you back. I just don’t understand why McDonald’s has to remove the text McDonald’s from the sign and make the restaurant so colorless.
That made me tear up when she said “I feel like I’m visiting with y’all and it buys me another week” 🥲bless her heart.

Very impressive re-creation of so many scenes on-the-fly. Nostalgia and fun at the same time. And all the protagonists are still alive. Big thanks to your mom whose spirit is as lively and young as she was back then for being part of this video.
Nice that you all remained close over 33 years. Mom is cool.

I wasn't even born in the 80s (born in 92) but I could easily tell the last two epic decades were the 80s and the 90s. The 2000s is when everything started to take a turn for the worst! An irreversible turn for the worst I must say, thanks to the internet, smart phones and social media!
Happy Birthday to your mom! I never would have guessed she was 70 if she hadn't mentioned the year she was born!

Omg thanks for the nostalgia! I was 12 in 1989 and this brought back so many memories, the hair, the metal band tshirts, Bill & Ted….LOL 😍
I was 12, best time of my life growing in that time until the 90's, it will never be the same. Cartoon Saturdays and Disney Sunday's, only Channel 2, 5 or 8 lol. 🇨🇦
In 2006, McDonald's had the renovation that you see now in all their restaurants called "Forever Young" to be appealing to older customers like us. The older McDonald's that you saw int the 80's was a Ray Kroc design that was implemented in 1968. So by the 1990's when you saw the bright yellow roofs and red paint it was just a band aid before the redesigns that you see today were going to be implemented.

@@imrinanihow do you think your parents felt eating McDonald’s in the 50s, going to a McDonald’s in the 80s. They thought it had all the life sucked out of it in the name of modernity.
