Even at that reveal it didn't make sense, like Max is saying in this video "damn they're changing a lot of mechanics", only people who don't care about Smash and wanted to concern troll were saying this. Heck, even the art style is totally different. Much more flashy, colors are WAY more bright. Back then we didn't notice, but looking back at Smash 4 now that we have Ultimate ? Yeah, Smash 4 wasn't a very good looking game, artstyle wise.

Rob D View N What would that do for Jump? Bandai are the ones in control of the gaming side of things, that wouldn't benefit Bandai as much as Bandai just making their own Anime Melee game.

To everyone saying 4.5.... is Melee a 64.5? Is Brawl a Melee.5? Is Smash 4 a Brawl.5? This is a new Smash game. Lot of similar stuff, but it's as different from Smash 4 as Smash 4 is from Brawl.

Jesse Schmies I know this is a comment from a year ago, but you’re actually pretty wrong on all those examples of a port. All the games you mentioned are remasters with changed graphics or more added features like the multiple characters in Mario 64 DS or gyro aiming in Star Fox/LoZ. A port is literally making the original version of the game with no changes work on a different system. So something more like Doom 2016 in its unedited glory being playable on the Switch.

@@presidentc4 Lol I'm sure from a development perspective, Sakurai considers the Wii U and 3DS versions to be separate entries, but for all intents and purposes, 3DS/Wii U are both considered part of the Smash 4 pair.

This is not even close to being Smash 4.5 Of course they are reusing music. That's how music works

I can't help but smile every time Max gets giddy over Proto and Bass being added to Mega Man's Final Smash.

Stage and character wise, almost everything or maybe even everything (mostly talking about stages) will be there, so the only question is how much single player stuff there will be. If anything takes a hit, it will be that. And whether or not 8 player smash will be a thing, since the Switch is portable.

This would been epic; If after the intro, the "Everyone is here" image fades black, slowly it starts to bright up, and you would see some bad guys base at night. (The base is big as hell.) Its raining. Its thunderstorm. There are dozens of platforms, hundreds of guards. Security cameras. Spotlights. Some defend weapons and shit. (I know you can imagine it.) Then it all zooms out. You see a black silhouette of a character from behind. The character is on his knees. Camera moves to the front of the character. He raises his head, looks at the base. Then you hear "Kept you waiting, huh?" Lightning strikes, and the light reveales Snake's face. *"31 Snake /"* banner pops out. and then Snake gets up and slowly runs out of the camera. *"EVERYONE IS HERE"*

YES! BIG BLUE IS BACK!! That is absolutely not sarcasm, I love that stage!

I woke really early to watch the Nintendo E3 Event and I LOVE YOU GUYS REACTIONS! Nintendo did..alright. Super Smash Ultimate was amazing tho

Actually no, it isnt "4.5", all the assets are brand new, the returning stages are made from the ground up instead of being ported, new mechanics, new style overall. Plus we only saw basic smash.

Max, don't know if you are a fan or not, but recently Sega has announced that their Yakuza styled Fist of the North Star game that came out earlier this year for PS4 in Japan, is being released in the US and Europe on Oct 2nd as Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise.

I don't play Smash (not since 64) but i can see why everyone is excited and i love it.

Now fast forward to December 2020, and those "4.5"s sound even more dated than ever

Give me more skin color palettes like Cloud and Bayonetta for Ryu as Ken or Akuma and like Megaman to be X, Bass or EX. I would like to see more of that. If Ridley is there, there is definitely more surprises on the way for sure

Snake is a beast. I remember playing metal gear solid peace walker on PSP. It was funny to me when Snake dies. HQ was like come in Snake! Snake! Snaaaaaaaaaaaake!
