In Luther's time, the Catholic Church was vast and the Pope could not possibly know everything that is happening within each Church. Modern communication, like phones, telegraph, and the internet did not exist. The undeniable fact that individual Catholics (perhaps the best known of them being the German Dominican Johann Tetzel [1465-1519]) did sell indulgences--but in doing so they acted CONTRARY to explicit Church regulations. This practice is utterly OPPOSED to the Catholic Church's teaching on indulgences, and it cannot be regarded as a teaching or practice of the Church. In the 16th century, when the abuse of indulgences was at its height, Cardinal Cajetan (Tommaso de Vio, 1469-1534) wrote about the problem: "Preachers act in the name of the Church so long as they teach the doctrines of Christ and the Church; but if they teach, guided by their own minds and arbitrariness of will, things of which they are ignorant, they cannot pass as representatives of the Church; it need not be wondered at that they go astray." The Council of Trent instituted severe reforms in the practice of granting indulgences, and, because of prior abuses, "in 1567 Pope Pius V canceled all grants of indulgences involving any fees or other financial transactions" (Catholic Encyclopedia). This act proved the Church’s seriousness about removing abuses from indulgences. *********************************** Yes, the Catholic Church has indulgences, but they were not for sale. They were personal sacrifices made for sinners, so that God would intervene on their behalf, like fasting and praying. If we ignore the fact of indulgences, we neglect what Christ does through us, and we fail to recognize the value of what he has done in us. Paul used this very sort of language: "Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church" (Col. 1:24)

It was William Tyndale who first translated the Bible into English, he met Martin Luther in Germany, then went to Belgium to finish the translation...he was hunted, captured and imprisoned in the Belgium town of Vilvoorde. On Mar 6, 1536 he was strangled and burn at the stak, his last words were, “Lord, open the King of England’s eyes.” His prayers were answered.

But a spark of God remains in me, and has lead me to Deism. I am a work in progress, unfinished in all things. This film is so moving and now, while I learn more about Martin Luther and the Reformation, it is an important part of my education. Straightforward and pretenseless, this is a great piece of work.

White had published weekly a series of 19 articles on the life of Martin Luther which I believe are of immense interest to any Christian. Since links in comments are probably automatically censored in this channel I proposed the solution of postponing, by typing the title of the pdf on your device indicate here in quotations marks: "The essential Steps of Martin Luther's Life". No, if you examine the teachings of Luther e.g. the Ausburg Confession, Defence of the Ausburg Confession, Book of Concord, Large Catechism etc. Luther would consider most "protestants" today to be heretical. A few examples Luther believed in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, Luther believed in baptismal regeneration, Luther still held to the major Christian Creeds, still believed there was much truth in the teaching of the early Church fathers etc. Luther believed the Anabaptists were heretics.

A good workman knows how critical measurements are, one error along the way can lead to ruin. So it is with one's faith, one error can lead to great ruin. Very easy to see the clear errors of Rome, but how about ourselves dear brothers and sisters. "Watch your life and doctrine closely" less we find ourselves in great error too.

I was I was 35 and had No idea how the roman catholic "church" persecuted and murdered the Wonderful men who wanted the people to be able to read God's Word !! Christians need to know the Truth about the evils of this pretend church. It still is getter richer by demanding money from the poorest people of the world and telling lies about how wonderful this "church" is. 😭 🦋🙏

White had published weekly a series of 19 articles on the life of Martin Luther which I believe are of immense interest to any Christian. Since links in comments are probably automatically censored in this channel I proposed the solution of postponing, by typing the title of the pdf on your device that I want to indicate here: "The essential Steps of Martin Luther's Life". this film shows that Martin Luther push to have your own understading in the bible which is good and its bad because Word of God is hard to understand sometimes and it needs more expert knowing thats why its better to leave the interpretation to the scholars which believed more experience. This is very sad many are lost because of teaching of luthereans sadly May God help them! IF IT PUSHES YOU TO HAVE DIFFERENET MEANINGS ON THE VERSES IT LEADS TO MANY CHURCHES THATS WHY PROTESTANT CHURCH HAVE 40 DENOMINATIONS BECAUSE OF THAT.

It seems that Lutherans believe God was finished with His reformation here with Luther. It continues. Even till today. Yes Luther's contributions were powerful. The illumination of the Solas. However, Luther did not complete God's mission. Luther was not a perfect prophet nor did he address all issues. His work in its own category of faith alone for salvation of course is biblical. I in no way challenge that. However I stand on the claim Lutherans seem to have stopped thinking on the issues at this one historical mark.

When the Emperor Constantine declared himself to be the Summus Pontifex, what followed was more than ten centuries of Dark Ages, during which time people who professed Christ rather than Mary or the Popes, people who denied transubstantiation, were fed to lions or burned at the stake. During the Dark Ages, for a common person to read the Bible was a sin for which there was no forgiveness; and so the people were spoon-fed from the papist pulpit. The Bible was said to exist only in the Latin text and the common and largely illiterate people could learn the stories that were in the Bible from paintings and stained glass windows. Those who first made the Bible available in the language of the people were killed for their trouble; but when Martin Luther quoted Paul, of all people, the Protestant Reformation began. The gospel that saves is that Christ accomplished everything needed to save you from sin and death when he died on the cross for sins.

the most beautiful and God given movie ever made. Martim Luther was sent by God to bring the truth of how evil the Roman Catholic Church is. Many have been saved by by the truth of learning about the truth in this movie bur sadly the Roman church still practices evil. They still put Mary before Jesus and claim as the co redeemer with Jesus and pray to humans as saints. Still believe in purgatory. They still are brainwashed and are evils greatest work. They are indeed a cult. We need to pray for them and when ever try to tell the truth of the Bible. Gods blessings to all of you. Luther was not the only one who wanted to remove the nine books from the Bible there were many more before him. Those books were written much later. Luther said good to read but not to believe them.

"You are Peter and on this Rock I will build MY church". Jesus Christ has only ONE church, NOT several. And it was founded 2000 years ago. All the other churches that call themselves christian, are founded much later by men, that is by sinners. Whoever leaves the Catholic Church because of men, doesn't trust Jesus Christ. The other 11 apostles didn't leave Jesus because of the traitor Judah !!!

The best way to defeat them is to think for ourselves and subdue our fears, But, it is easier to give into our fears and follow along in blind, stupid faith. Revelation 15:3-4 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Sola Fide - Faith alone This means that we are saved from our sins by faith alone in Christ, and not by faith and anything we do, whether it be baptism, church membership, good works, sincerity, or anything else. God is the proper object of faith. When we have faith in the work of Christ and his sacrifice on the cross, we are justified (Romans 5:1). Faith: In addition, Roman Catholicism condemns the idea of faith alone and says that salvation is dependent on faith and participation in the sacraments, among other things. “If any one saith, that by faith alone the impious is justified; in such wise as to mean, that nothing else is required to cooperate in order to the obtaining the grace of Justification, and that it is not in any way necessary, that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will; let him be anathema” (Council of Trent, Canons on Justification, Canon 9). Away with Popery and its dogma doctrine!
