John Hus: A Journey of No Return (2016) | Full Movie | Peter Hosking | Jessica Boone | Jim High
This powerful docudrama depicts the last days 14th century church reformer John Hus and reveals how his faith deeply impacted those around him.
14th century Czech priest and scholar John Hus is considered one of the first Protestant reformers. His interpretation of scripture and his bold stand against church corruption would strongly influence Martin Luther a century later. Hus spent his last days as a prisoner in Constance on charges of heresy. During his imprisonment Hus formed an unusual friendship with one of his jailers, Robert Talio. Hus’s demonstration of faith in the face of death won Talio over to his cause. This historically based documentary produced for Czech television features outstanding dramatized scenes that reveal Hus’s humanity and depict his unwavering commitment to God’s mercy and justice.
Director: Olga Wallo
Starring: Peter Hosking, Jessica Boone, Jim High

We owe a great debt of gratitude to all the Reformers, not realizing the darkness that enshrouded the world at that time. We take for granted the light that is ours today.

thanks....and what do we have today? It is far worse for the light has been seen and openly rejected. And Christians are being killed and tortured through out the world. And in America taxes are paid to teach Atheism and imorality. as few of us speak up with the gospel to get those saved. Acts 1:8 in the power of His love. I happen to be a Jew that someone took the time to share the truth of Isaiah 53 with amazing grace, thanks the pearl of the greatest price is worth it.

He saved me from an addiction to lustful videos, depression with that feeling to end it all and hate to those who i now can love through Jesus's grace to me. He has given me new life, a new heart and saved me from my sins through the cross( even the ones you dont tell people about). He can do the same for you, only if you believe and become saved by his grace not your own works(since we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and his holy justice only forgiven by the Sons undeserved sacrifice on the cross, look at the ten commandments to see how we all are guilty without Gods grace through the Christ).

"Yes," replied Huss, "but there will come an eagle in a hundred years that you will not reach." Huss was martyred in 1415. In 1519, in a debate at Leipzig, John Eck asked Martin Luther, "Are you a Hussite?" He answered, "I am a Hussite." Both Huss and Luther held to Sola Scriptura, that is, the Bible alone is the authority for the teaching of the church.

@Augustus Antonius you quote scripture to back up your point about the Bible having no authority above the church Priceless! Please be careful not to use the scriptures out of context, they are of no private interpretation, meaning we need to study the scriptures in their entirety to allow the Bible to interpret itself The Bible is the Word of God "But He (Jesus) answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God". Matt 4:4 - quoting Deut 8:3 Jesus is the Word made flesh John 1:1-4,14 Jesus is the head of the church. I will listen to Him and Him alone "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body(of Christ)". Ephesians 5:23 John 14: 6 Jesus saith unto him, "(I AM) the way, the TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, BUT BY ME. John 16:13 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of TRUTH, is come, he will guide you into all TRUTH...." BTW the UN id described in Revelation 17:12-13 and rules (for a short time) along with the the Sea Beast (who sits on 7 hills) May God bless you and guide you into all truth.

@Augustus Antonius I agree with you that the Jewish religion became corrupted, (therefore God rejected them) however the same can be said about the Christian religion. The Apostolic church was the purest church in Christian history, however it has been corrupted over time, therefore my priests and teachers are those who wrote the Holy Scriptures. Isaiah 8:20 "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Galatians 1:8 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." The reason there are so many denominations today is because before the REFORMation, the Bible had been translated into Latin and was held hostage from the people, and thus, had to be interpreted by the church resulting in false doctrines, and tradition was regarded more highly than the Bible. (The term Dark Ages was used because there was no LIGHT from God's word. Ps 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" . Jesus was the Word made flesh John 1:1-4:14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Many of the Reformers were priests who read the Bible and learned the precious truths within. As the RC church rejected this new light, new denominations were formed. As more and more light was revealed many protestants rejected it, so other denominations formed. If only all men would receive all truth, then we would need but one denomination.

@Augustus Antonius First, I apologize for my rudeness in talking to you in that manner out of my anger but seriously I think you can do better to explain yourself than uttering some pseudo prophecy. 1. What exactly is this "coming illumination of your Soul/Conscience"? Explain that to me. 2. Since you appear to believe that faith in Jesus as one's Lord and Savior is not adequate to satisfy the requirement of God for salvation, explain then what you or catholic church believes to be the requirement for salvation. 3. Explain why the Catholic Church is the true Church of Christ. What is your basis for such a claim? (Here I am assuming that you are referring to the Catholic Church as an institution with its papacy and its hierarchical organizations rather than to mean the Church as the body or community of true believers in Christ.) Please don't just quote some bible verses without clarifying your position like many of your comments. And please don't try to replace what is actually written in the Bible with your interpretation of that verse. Ex. "Seek knowledge from priests’ lips": Malachi 2:7 Are you trying to say that this verse supports the notion that the teachings of Catholic Church or its priests should be embraced even when its teaching seems to be contradicting what the Bible teaches? Also what is actually written in that verse: "For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth" (NIV) 4. You call my faith "paganized Christianity" which is based on the "edited works of the egotistical Reformer founders while being in state of sin". So what is paganized Christianity and what exactly did these reformers edit? While being in state of sin; what sin? Are you claiming that Catholic Church and its pope, bishops, and cardinals never sinned while they held their offices and that whatever they decide in their so called councils and catechisms have more authority than the Bible written by the prophets of old and by the very apostles themselves? Also regarding the act of "editing", from my understanding of history, more often it was the Catholic Church who kept coming up with new traditions and numerous rituals such as indulgence, purgatory, relic veneration, rosary, worship of Mary, liturgical hand gestures, and praying to dead saints. Whereas the reformers merely tried to be faithful to the original teachings of the Apostles written in the Bible, you Catholics were the ones who kept "editing" and inventing the will of God through your councils and catechisms of which many of its teachings contradict teachings of the Bible. The Catholic Church may have started pure at the time of the Apostles and of the Early Church Fathers but because it has added on or removed so many things from the original teachings of the apostles throughout its long history, I can't help but wonder that it has merely become a dead religion based on the teachings of the men. For some reason it reminds me of the Church of Sardis in Revelation ch.3 which had the reputation of being alive, but dead in the eyes of the Lord Jesus although He recognized there were still a very few believers who remained faithful to Him. If the early churches were so susceptible to corruption and false teachings already at the time of the Apostles, I have to wonder how much more susceptible the Catholic Church has been to the deceptions of the devil's schemes and to the corruption from sinful human nature. For that matter, the Protestant Churches are not exempt. We are too familiar with so many false teachers preaching prosperity gospel and human philosophies in place of the gospel of the cross, repentance, and the merits of the blood of Jesus as an atonement sacrifice. Contrary to your belief that the church is an institution or some hierarchical organization in the form of the Catholic Church, I hold a view that the Bible primarily teaches that the church is a body or community of true believers who have been made holy and righteous in the sight of God. May God have mercy on us all and lead us into the right path through the work of the Holy Spirit according to His promise.

I've never heard of John Hus until now..but I continue to find it interesting it took so long for people to take a stand against the absurbities of the Catholic Church. As a born again Christian in the US five years ago, I've had some interesting conversations with Catholics. The entire Catholic faith (and all the corruption/greed/scandals) that have resulted and stemmed from it, causing more problems than good for a large majority of all the years since Constantine, is rooted around their interpretation of Matthew 16:18 ("upon this rock I will build my Church" (this rock.. not upon you.. upon the profession/confession that Jesus is the Christ).. with Catholics holding onto the belief Jesus meant that Peter was the rock, and thus the "Papal infallibility" concept, and that only those who come from Peter's line/anointing have the special "power" to do transubstantiation etc etc).. This is an utter absurdity when taking the scripture at face value, as well as when taking Jesus' own words, and the epistles at face value where both Christ and Paul said that Jesus is the "cornerstone" of the Church, and not Peter (clearly John Hus, Luther, and most Protestants realize this), but the fact that there are still Catholic Churches, and Catholics anywhere in the world, given that the foundation of their faith is such an egregious and absurd interpretation of scripture, is beyond belief.. and explains why in the West the Church is still struggling so much - after 1700 years of complete and utter buffoonery and efforts to deceive and mislead in order to concentrate power and wealth. Praying that the deceit and "beast power" continues to be dismantled the real Church of Christ prospers globally.
