Facts.

I'm a Historian myself and I absolutely love this channel. As a blind person, I particularly enjoy the little sound effects here and there, thunderstorms, waterfalls, people marching through the desert... it really transports me through time into that world. There's another history-related channel I really enjoy called Geschichtsfenster. That guy focuses on the European Middle Ages, especially the HRE. His episodes are always very specific and go into great detail. For example he can easily spend 2 hours talking about the diet of peasants or women's fashion in late medieval Germany. By contrast, Paul takes the bird's eye approach, covering millennia and thousands of square kilometers in a single episode. Paul's videos are also very refined, using professional voice actors etc., while Andrej from Geschichtsfenster basically just presents sources and lectures without much editing, so it feels like sitting in an university seminar. Both styles have their charme in my opinion and I like to switch back and forth between them because they complement each other so well.

I completely agree with this OP. The podcasts and videos of Fall Of Civilizations are without a doubt the highest quality of all that exist. I'm proud that I was 1 of the first to say this, and I'm very glad so many others have joined me. It would grieve me greatly if Paul wasn't getting the credit he is due, so I'm SO very glad that he is being credited as the Master that he is! I can't wait for him to finish the video of this one, but that will take a LOT of time. That's ok though, because it takes time to create the masterpeices that are Paul's hallmark. I'll be so excited to see it, when it comes, so the waiting will be hard, but it will be so worth it! Thank you so much Paul, for the wonderful work that you do! The Greenland Vikings, Roman Britain and Carthage wander through my mind periodically. I’m glad to read this is something that’s shared with others. It’s surely a sign of the masterful manner with which these stories are regaled.

Dude, this is a master work. Incredible. Egypt is a romantic topic and I knew you would need to basically cover all the mini-apocalypses those civilizations experienced. It would not be enough to simply cover the very end. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this, not just the script, but the little touches in the sounds and mastering it properly so I wasn't struggling to hear you. Sometimes left to wonder how those talented, often doomed poets & artists can hit me in the chest and freeze me before their utterly perfect phrases, songs, expressions. That poet was tapped into the wavelength, no doubt.

Man that first voice actor...so much feeling in his narration...truly a master of his craft.

Hits it out of the park with **4 hours** of Egypt? I’m in disbelief! That extremely high bar has been raised once again by Paul and the entire team. Insane!!! Can’t wait for the accompanying visuals!!!

This is, by far, the best channel on KZread. It blows my mind that you make this content available to people for free. These are such important stories. I really can't put into words how amazing these videos are.

The writing of "Egypt: Fall of the Pharaohs" podcast is completely amazing. It is so clear and compelling that once I started listening I was happily hooked! That meticulous research went into making this presentation is obvious. Ancient hieroglyphics are given new life through dramatic readings, while the narrator provides a concise and interesting discourse on this fascinating period in human history. I have listened to and enjoyed several other "Fall of Civilization" podcasts and they are all wonderful. But there is something special about this one... perhaps it is the glamour of ancient Egypt and its bygone pharaohs. I just know it is an excellent production and source of information. Many thanks to the creator for his hard work, creativity and commitment to historical accuracy.

There is something about Egypt that calls to many like no other

I just hope this man and his team are living comfortably. Sharing knowledge like this is a gift to the people. I have a busy schedule and these videos allow me to learn about my favorite subject on the go for free. I don't have to buy books or dedicate days to reading through one. Also, they break the information down so it is easy to visualize and understand. Thank you so much for your hard work.

The timelines of Ancient Egypt blow my mind. It was ancient by the time the Greeks and Romans came around. Cleopatra is closer to us in time than the Great Pyramids were to her.

YES! I literally said out loud, not 30 minutes ago, “I wonder if we’ll ever get another Fall of Civ episode?” And, here we are, sipping tea, and staring blissfully at the screen and feeling like this was exactly what I needed (over 2-3 sessions, most likely).

Seeing this show up in my feed while getting ready for bed is the one thing positive in an otherwise disappointing day. I truly appreciate the work you do Paul. I can't offer enough praise.

I love the fact that no matter how much I have learned about most of the civilizations already, I always learn more from these podcasts.

Simply said, the best way to catch up with history on YT. It's one thing to tell a story and another to reach your imagination. Really well done with great attention to detail. Nothing on KZread or any other media has even come close to making me feel the way your content does. A perfect mix of human emotion and historical knowledge allowing me to transport my mind back in time to these places of wonder and rich history.
