My husband and I met the Wurmbrandts in California back in 1987 and were so impressed by their love, humbleness and sacrifices. We invited them to bring their story to Pacific Christian College (now Hope International University) and Fuller Seminary where we were studying. We are missionaries in Thailand and Myanmar and I have a Jewish background too. They prayed for us and blessed our ministry and God has truly blessed it! I read all their books and share about their faith and love even to their torturers here in Thailand and Muanmar. We in the West need to be strong in our faith and dedicated like them! We have become so soft and weak having never suffered persecution. Now is the time to stand up for Jesus everywhere as never before! I felt so honoured to have met my true Christian heroes like them!

amen...I as born a Jew was rejected by my family when i came to Jesus, yet I led my Yiddish grandma to Jesus reading Isaiah 53. Now my mom has come to Jesus too...many persecutions..but the worst turns out for the best...amazing grace

Today, I was feeling very discouraged and this video came up in my feed. I don't think this was by chance. Jesus wanted me to see this. Thank you my God!

I was reading an amazing book so declined an invite to go and see a Christian speaker in Liverpool. My friend persisted. I went. We arrived at the hall in the nick of time. Due to the crowd, I was escorted to sit on the edge of the stage. Next thing, the host said, In Jesus' name, let us welcome Mr Richard Wurmbrand. Holiness, power and humility exuded from him. I was only 6 feet away from him. I have never recovered from the impact. I got home, stunned. It took me days to pick up my book...Tortured for Christ. P.S. Btw, my friend didn't tell me who the speaker was. 😃

Just to think this man was in a cell being beaten and still stood Firm in his faith. Not to mention he was praying for my country (new Zealand). At the time he would have had no clue that almost 100 years later his story would be heard from me and help me stand firm in my faith. Thank you sir. I praise God for sending me here

No, that's still faith, but it's a dead faith.(unprofitable). There are no works required up front or through the back door. That's a service issue, nothing to do with salvation at all. Salvation is absolutely free and not conditional upon service. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ "alone" for salvation. Nothing can seperate us from the love of God. Period! 2 Timothy 2: 13 if we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself.

Obedience to the fourth commandment KJV shows our love to God

I always admired the depth of their walk with God, whether alone in the cell or in public. They were so consistent under adversity.

Why are there thumbs down? This couple are such an example of devoted believers. Hard to imagine what Richard went through. So awful. Only Christ could have sustained him.through this ordeal of years.

I first learned about Richard Wormbrand when I read the book Tortured for Christ. I have never forgotten what this man endured for proclaiming Jesus. He truly was a man if God.

I understand a Great Tragedy and being left alone with my One True Counselor . It separated me from most but, Peace a Joy did come . I am in Spirit a true believer and follower of Jesus's Great hand when I reach out , cry out to him .Trust in His word and Promises . He is so Good to me . Things are coming up quick ! Thank you for sharing this story. This is inspiring beyond words. May Jesus be glorified through this. May we not ever forget to pray for the martyrs. Everyone living in a free country needs to see this, especially now. It seems we are losing much of our freedom in the US and other countries. I'm praying that things don't go this far, by God's grace and mercy. Whatever happens, may we fully cling to Jesus for our very lives.

This video inspired me to go to the next level in my Christian walk.

When I see testimonies like this I feel encouraged but also sad because most of what we now regard as Christianity is just our own dreams and desires enveloped in our self deception of 'God's love'. The average professor of Christianity can't even speak against lawlessness for fear of being branded hateful. May the Lord grace us with such resolve as these. Amen!

I met Richard when he came to give his testimony he is a wonderful faithful Christian.

What great faith . Praise God for them being able to share this powerful testimony . Going through what they've gone through you can see the joy and love of God for their fellow man that persecuted them . This is very encouraging. Thank you so much for sharing. Glory to God .

I met them many years ago at "The Bible Speaks" Pastor Carl Steven's in Lenox Massachusetts. Mr. Wumbrandt then because of imprisonment could not stand but certainly their Testimony although she did not speak stood tall!! I will never forget them!!

Praise my Lord Jesus Christ for his sustaining love in the lives of the Wurmbrand family. Thank you to the Wurmbrand family for sharing their beautiful testimony and to all those involved in making this inspirational documentary. God Bless ✝️🙏🏼💜

@@Yesica1993 My apologies for disturbing you. My intention is to remind people that don’t remember the seventh day sabbath. They will soon present sun day rest by Force of law as the “solution “ for all the world’s problems. So I’m thinking some will want to be aware of the whole story. All Christians have been deceived by the sun day observance tradition of ancient pagan rome. And Revelation 18:4 KJV. I guess I’m praying for people to at least give it some study and prayer. When we all meet Jesus I hope someone will be glad they read a comment to lead them to the Sabbath Commandment and Truth on this Biblical principle. I hope when you see more comments you can choose to research Constantine at the council of nicea or say a quick prayer for all of us to see our need for eyesalve. May God bless us each one as we search for Jesus in His Word.

Please brother, pray and consider our Creator God who wrote the Ten Commandments even kept the fourth KJV. Jesus is our example.

I had the previledge to read his books when I was young and than about 1974 or 5 dont remmember I saw this pastor in an Assembly of God church in South Africa he ardly could walk because his feet was so sore for the beaten he endured in prison, he was a lovely man that teansmit to you Love and Peace blessed be all of you and family and the ones he gain to Christ. What beautiful souls they are.

We have so great a cloud of witnesses.

I am particularly touched when Richard mentioned that it was like Stephen who saw Jeus standing at the right hand of God, instead of his torturers. It teaches me to focus on God and Jesus, and taught me the true meaning of "in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Blessed by their lives and their faith .

One of our bedtime stories books we have for the kids has a story about a Romanian Pastor whose ticks on his illegal typewriter alerted a neighbor above who called the police. He was arrested and sent to prison. The captain asked the pastor if he prayed before eating. When the pastor said yes, the captain taunted him by pointing out how fat and happy he was and how pathetically undernourished the pastor was by comparison. The pastor replied that God could feed him if He chose to, to which the guard replied that no one would give the pastor any food for 5 days and they’d see how well God feeds His people. He then put him in a cell. After the pastor prayed that evening that the guard would see how well God takes care of His people, he heard a meow. A cat was there with a piece of Romanian black bread in its mouth. The bread satiated the pastor. The same thing happened for the next several days and at the 5th day, the captain came to ridicule what he thought would be starving prisoner. When the pastor said he felt fine, the captain demanded to know who was feeding him and that he’d throw him in prison as well. The pastor said that a cat had been bringing him food. The cat then walked in with more bread and the captain exclaimed, “That’s my cat! And that’s my bread!” God had been using the captain’s own cat to feed the pastor with bread from the captain’s own table.

This story is proof there is no greatest love for Christ than this family has had and how God worked in their lives in creating "Voice of the Martyrs" ministry years later. Praise God for His love and faithfulness for all of our Persecuted Brothers and Sisters throughout the world in who serve the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

@@DA-jw4lx It's a prophetic warning from God and Jesus and it is in Daniel 11:37 in the Douay-Rheims Holy Bible. I am not getting at anything and it's a warning for all i.e. 666 man. Pray that Jesus will give you understanding. I am only His messenger.

Met him when he came to our church when I was a child. Awesome and it affects me to this day

Opening statement '...before the time when people could meet legally in public gatherings and enjoy the freedom of religious worship ...' Sounds like where we're headed. Pray for the churches in the Ukraine and Russia at this time. God, our heavenly father, we pray for our brothers and sisters in the churches of Ukraine and Russia who are charged with a challenge at this time of perceived war. Let them live their faith and see your love in action as we add our love and faith from afar. With God and Jesus all things are possible and a love like no other will comfort and support them for their safety and security. In Jesus's name. Amen

It is not wise to put your faith in a "catching away." to escape the "Trying of your faith." What makes us think we are so special that we should not suffer? Read the book of Matthew more carefully. The last trumpet will blow before the rapture. I am humbled by the faith of those who have gone before us and who stood firm. In our day, we want to escape suffering. LORD, help us to be worthy and to endure.

And even they - if they do not continue in their unbelief - will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. Romans 11:23 Praise God!

I am so humbled by watching this incredible story. The testimony lives on and we that have never known this kind of testing have to prepare ourselves for the hour of persecution that is coming soon. Will we be able to stand up for our faith if we are so easily manipulated by the worldly sistems? I am deeply encouraged and blessed by this example. Thank-you Abba Father for your unfailing Love.

My entire family met the Wurmbrand's in California in the 80's and my brothers were part of VOM for a while. Sadly the organization Wurmbrand started V.O.M. is no longer what is used to be. But I remember their radiant love (humanly impossible w/out the Holy Spirit). Their testimony is absolutely incredible! Glory to Jesus!

Yes. I do wish that they would edit the video to remove one person from it who fell away into terrible sin. Not that the Lord Jesus doesn't love & forgive, and I am sure Richard & Sabina would do so, but it is better if the video would be edited, even though the person is forgiven.

@@jackiebourg6869 Stop it. Your post was obviously meant to be an anti-catholic jab. Father Wurmbrand was a Lutheran. Do you know what confessional Lutheran‘s believe about sacraments, etc. (e.g. baptismal regeneration, corporal body and blood of Christ, private confession and holy absolution, rejects the false teachings of “always saved always saved”…). Father Wurmbrand had a very high view of the Theotokas. So basically Father Wurmbrand taught the things that are going make Baptist squirm (e.g. baptismal regeneration, private confession & holy absolution, perpetual virginity of Mary, etc.) he was a Lutheran like Bonhoeffer. When Father Wurmbrand celebrated the Mass, he had vestments on, a crucifix, followed the historic liturgy. Are you going to level the same or similar charges against Father Wurmbrand as you do Catholics? I doubt it. Your anti-Catholic jab wasn’t meant to be irenic (aiming or aimed at peace).

I am so indebted to GOD ALMIGHTY for this great witnesses. May we love like these beautiful couple, those who hate and are so envious of our JESUS CHRIST Wwwwwwwwwwwoooooooooooowwwwwwwww YOU alone, I aim to please Great FATHER of glory, thank YOU oh precious HOLY SPIRIT for guidance always amen

This is such a powerful testimony. I remember getting hold of the book Totured For Christ. I only Went as far as a few pages bec, as a young Christian, I could not bear & accept the toture Wurmbrand Went thru. Im glad & so blessed & to watch this beautiful documentary of this couple this time. Glory to God!

In this day and age of disorientation while the government tries to destroy all who have Christian beliefs this documentary gives me great hope. I have not suffered like these people have but I pray that when the time comes I will be ready and willing to the spirit of God and not faint in my Faith in Christ Jesus who suffered so much for me. I wish everybody could see this documentary or read his book are we really need to wake up this type ofPersecution could come to us any day now. Bless God for this training in this good example of the warm at family.
