As a person born in Monrovia, Liberia and belonging to the Grebo tribe this story hit close to home. My first introduction to God was watching my Grandmother pray to "Yensua" when I was a child in Monrovia. She would speak to him as if he was looking down right at her. Her faith was also incredible. I remember her carrying me on her back to find a priest during the Liberian civil war because I had contracted Malaria and was on the brink of death. She believed that I would be healed after she and the priest prayed over me. She eventually found the priest after miles of walking through various terrain and they both prayed over me and sprinkled holy water on me and I was healed a few days later.

When I heard his tribe's diety was named yensua, I couldn't help but notice the similarity to yeshua, Jesus's real Hebrew name. I was curious if maybe that tribe had been given revelation about Jesus hundreds of years ago but had forgotten some of it over time.

@@autumnkeller443 I thought the same thing as soon as I heard the name that was mentioned. Yensua sounding a lot like the Hebrew word Yeshua. Also the reference of the tribe's deity as the "one and only supreme power "or "the great elder". The bible refers to God as the "Ancient of Days" with hair white as snow (elder of elders). There are many tribes in Africa that actually have/practice Jewish/Mosaic roots (many believed to be apart of the lost tribes that were scattered throughout the continent). One thing for certain is that the early apostles in the book of Acts mentioned that the Law of Moses had been taught in many Gentile cities before the coming of Christ (Acts 15:19-21). So It def seems like the tribe was worshipping God (from a Mosaic/Old Testament view) and Samuel later came to the full knowledge of God as Saviour just as the apostle Paul had on the road called straight. His story reminds me of Acts 17 that mentions that God has placed it in the hearts of all people everywhere to know Him. The people of Athens held an empty space of worship among their gods/goddesses for THE one they called "The Unknown God" which we know to be as Jesus Christ/Yeshua, the physical manifestation of God himself.

What a heartbreaking yet beautiful story of a life lived for Christ! We do need men of God like Samuel today! The simple faith, big highly educated, just a conscript communication with this Father! It’s so sad we live in a time where a degree makes you a good church leader, yet the disciples were “ fisherman “ and tax collectors. Of course some were educated, but that didn’t make for a spirit filled believer, too many go to college to get third degree and come out farther away from the Lord than when they started. Dedicate 100% to follow and obey all the Word of your Elohim as I have rededicated 4 years ago and the Most High Yahuah has powerfully transformed and empowered my faith walk through The Son Yahushua Messiah. Many years ago, maybe in the 70s or 80s, I had a little booklet about the life of Samuel Morris and I am so very moved by the Ruach ha Kodesh to be reminded again about the glorious testimony of my brother Samuel Morris. Blessings to all who are dedicating their lives 100% or rededicating them in this very late hour to be ready for Christ's soon return for His Bride. I had never heard of Samuel Morris until this morning driving on the expressway. As an African Christian living in the US, I continually feel like this amazing Country that seeded the Gospel to the world; needs a reintroduction of the Gospel. Samuel Morris is still touching lives like mine many decades after his passing. Thank you for posting this to remind us that all the Father needs is our child-like dependence on Him. I was so blessed by this!

This is a wonderful true story, and so many people has been blessed by this young man, that our HEAVENLY FATHER chose for this time to wake people up, and you could that young man to take his place; Our HEAVENLY FATHER, RISE UP MEN SUCH AS YOU.

Yes, even the artwork was so very appropriate yet simple. I am following my spiritual father and learning about Krsna. When we say Krsna we must remember that means God. And our father is one and created all of us. 🌺 "You just try to understand, just try to hear the message of God. The message of God is just like Bhagavad-gītā or Bible, any scripture or mystic, as you like. Just try to hear from the realized soul. Just like the truths of Bible were spoken by Lord Jesus Christ, or Kṛṣṇa. Anything about God, whatever you like, you hear." Like the Liberian gentleman said it doesn't matter if one converts to Christianity. I does matter that we sincerely talk with our Father. What a tremendous beautiful boy was Samuel Morris. Wow! I'm Liberian like the hero of this story, and one of my first thoughts is that this story should be a national treasure. But until a very short time ago, I had no idea that this great Liberian missionary ever existed. Heroes by definition are so few and far between, so "when a hero comes along" the least we can do is celebrate and emulate him! Or her, as the case may be. I thank God for a life well-lived!!!

What a great story about a young man who had great faith in God! He did so much in his short 20 years. I hope more people hear his story through this video.

SAMUEL MORRIS, " Simply believe God ". Powerful revelation of God's faithfulness. Amen thanks for sharing this story.

What amazed me about Samuel's story is he was seeking the Holy Spirit and was filled with the Holy Spurit, moving and speaking only what his Father said. He seeked to learn what was already in him. Praise God this is a beautiful testimony

LORD STRENGTHEN their determination to never waiver in efforts to search for YOU because the wages of sin is too high for anyone to pay. Additionally, THE KING OF KINGS is needed in their hearts to learn how to expand their capacity to love for YOU are LOVE in any language. 🥰 Once they learn to speak it with boldness through YOUR WONDERFUL COUNSELING all the world will hear, and know that LOVE is the language of their hearts. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee. Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh. O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. The portrayal of this Godly man in this video is quite inspiring and should be included in the teachings presented during Black History Month that is celebrated here in the United States. He is a godly and positive role model, and his life story should serve as a tremendous inspiration to many on numerous different levels.

We currently live in bible times. And no his life wouldn't be written. It isn't random stories of random ppl. The scriptures is about a nation and their transgressions. How God plans to redeem them and the whole world through them. Gotta read the Torah to understand The New testament

Thank you to those who have done such a beautiful work in producing this documentary of Samuel Morris' life. To all that read this, please dedicate 100% or rededicate to follow and obey all the Word of your Elohim as I have rededicated 4 years ago and the Most High Yahuah has powerfully transformed and empowered my faith walk through The Son Yahushua Messiah. Many years ago, maybe in the 70s or 80s, I had a little booklet about the life of Samuel Morris and I am so very moved by the Ruach ha Kodesh to be reminded again about the glorious testimony of my brother Samuel Morris. Blessings to all who are dedicating their lives 100% or rededicating them in this very late hour to be ready for Christ's soon return for His Bride. Don't be among the foolish virgins, make very sure that your vessel is full of the Holy Spirit anointing oil as Samuel Morris' was.

Amen.... Awesome that at the time he was alive so many white people were listening and supporting him. Just imagine coming penniless from his land of birth where he was tortured by the tribe that was neighbors. 😧 It's full of miracles actually his story... How the first person he meets in NYC knew exactly where to take him to meet the man he crossed the treacherous ocean to hear from!

God takes the things that are not powerful, He takes the small, the poor and the humble and uses them to Glorify His name and set the captives free. What an incredible story! Why have I never heard of him until now? God Almighty is truly great and REAL. I am very much encouraged in my Christian faith and walk with God as I am presently going through a challenging time deserted by friends and close family members at this difficult time and trying to recover my health and move forward to the nation of God’s calling for me. The holy name is as powerful as the Lord Himself. Be blessed in the simple glory of the Lord, and never forget Him, in good times or bad. It seems there are so many jewels we have been blessed with in our Father's family, and its really awesome that they are carefully guarded and uncovered even though over a century has passed. Today was my first introduction to this gentle but POWER Infused young mystic. I can only say that his short life was more meaningful than mine so far. I am way beyond 20 years old... And I pray that young and old will get to know the Prince.

Samuel Morris, Wow what a wonderful relationship he had with God! I hope to meet him when I go to heaven. He was a Blessing everywhere he went!

What an amazing manifestation of great faith! I came to realize how small is my faith compared to this young man. As I watched, I can feel conviction within my heart. Thank you Lord for this great testimony!

This is the first time I heard about this awesome story about Samuel Morris. However, it would be nice if this story was shared more often, cause I feel that he is one of God's chosen people, and the whole world should know of his life, life with God.

After receiving the Holy Spirit, He led me to read Christian biographies and testimonies. Yet, somehow, I did not ever read this one. What a wonderful testimony of God’s power in one faithful servant. Truly a Paul type conversion and then a missionary journey to America after our Civil War. God brought us a black Christian from Africa to teach us about the power ,love, and Holy Spirit of the Lord God.

This brought tears to my eyes, the Love God demonstrated in saving this boy in a land where noone knew who The Lord Jesus is. Surely we serve a wonderful God whose Love and Mercy can never be fathomed.

He knew the Lord Jesus Christ before he went to America. Samuel had an encounter with the heaven father . Africa knew Jehovah, and YESHUA and holy spirit but in their Language before the European came to Africa. Egypt is in Africa. GOD told Mary and Joseph take the child to Egypt. Please go to old testament you will read about Africa.

He learned Jesus as he was converted. God had planned for him and moved him far away . BTW the euro-version of christianity is the one that is obsessed with race, and "coversation" or as you call it "spreading the good word". In reality every country that has adapted to youre "version" of christianity have strayed away from the essence of christianity. You people are so busy "spreading the word" aka "building faith on a foundation of sand" by paying for conversations that the protestant and chatolicism is dropping in numbers in every country with a healthy economy. The only places you have left to grow is in poverty infested places. And there China is coming vert fast with investments. And dont even try to show my an article of the "growth" of christianity in Africa. Africa is having a major growth in humans period and alot of these people are poor and are being targeted by rich race obsessed american evangelical organists. As soon as the money stop coming in from foolish americans to Africa, then the numbers will swindle. Everyone in Africa knows, that priests makes the most money, becaause of the desperation of westerners who worries about no one wants to believe in their mumbojumbo, so they are throwing paper around.

What an amazing man of God! Short life but very powerful!!! Worth watching!

Thank you. This was more than I expected, yet exactly what I was looking for. This is a wonderful encouragement and inspiration to be led by sweet Holy Spirit. We can trust Him, I believe Samuel's heart was so precious and in his immense desire to learn more of God and sweet Holy Spirit, he was ushered to a front row into glory unto the throne of God. How precious, that he was able to wave goodbye to the doctor, and found sitting with his Bible...what a way to go. Our God is awesome! Thank you.

His story really inspired me and stirred so much emotions within me even I am so broken. There were so many nuggets of precious truth that I could glean from :)

Samuel Morris's story is an inspiration to me personally...God has children everywhere and He knows how to reach them!

This a story of great grace, God works miracles beyond human thoughts, abilities and means. I am humbled by this piece of the continuation of the book of Acts of the apostles.

God really is something. He set his eyes on him.

This young man reminds me of King David, who had the same relationship with his Heavenly Father. He had the same trust - David and Goliath etc. So inspiring and we can all have this just by trusting God implicitly. Lots of conversational prayer and just trust. We all need to grow our relationship with our Father in heaven.

He also sacrificed himself for his sister and no greater love has a man than he give his life for a friend let alone sister!

What an amazing story!!! I was moved emotionally and spiritually with this documentary. The Holy Spirit does work in every persons life. Even in the life of non believers or in the life of someone who is "back slid en"!. Our prayer life and investing in time spent in the Good Word will change even a stiff necked individual. Transgression of our own making or by others can often propel us into the desire to seek the Holy Spirit. The conviction of a mans soul to repent and seek the Divine guidance to love the Lord with all that we are and could be for His honor is a lifelong commitment we should not take lightly. In my own life I pray the Lord will lead me and I will follow His direction. For I know His way is the only way which is perfect. That is the fact of the matter. All righteousness is found in Him who saved me. Thank you for posting this documentary. It is a very relevant description of the life of someone who bravely followed his calling against all odds which were just too many to mention. A great movie to watch. There is so much faith, determination and courage in this young man. I am so blessed by the way God has used Samuel. What the devil meant for evil, God through and His love and mercy has used to save the lives of countless number of people. What a might miraculous God. we serve.
