No matter who we are or what we have done in our lives, we all have a place in God’s Kingdom when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and confess and repent from our sins, iniquities and transgressions. Hallelujah. My dearly departed parents loved this hymn and I do too🙏🏾🙏🏾

So are we saved because we believe Jesus paid the wages for our sins or because we repent for our own sins. It can't be both. And since Jesus is alive how did he pay our sin debt which is eternal death?

My husband in our early life together shared Amazing Grace with me. I loved this Hymn and it was played as requested by me at his funeral. It has been a year and a half ago. I honor him by watching this movie and will save it in my heart in his memory (and it brought me to tears). I love you Michael in Heaven and I pray to join you again one day. Salvation belongs to Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior.

During my escape from Vietnam. Lord Jesus Save me from violent storm and 20 day at open sea with no food and water... However, I did not get save and be born again 30 years later. Glory Be to God and the Father of Our Lord God Jesus Christ. Amen.

We serve an AWESOME God! _''Give Thanks to Him, for He is GOOD, and His tender mercies endure forever''_ ~ Psalm 1l8: 1 Philippians 4:7 :D

An glorious story of hope and redemption. Now I understand how the song I sing out loud almost every day and inspired by God came into the world. I sing this song to my cattle, lambs, sheep, rams, goats, donkeys, dogs, cats and especially to my many chickens. Praise The Father, Son and Holy Spirit of Christ.

Thank you so much for this portrayal of Newton's amazing life. The Lord wanted him to write Amazing Grace. I grew up with that precious hymn, as did my mother, grandmother, and all my ancestors. It always brings people to tears because of its true and timeless message. My favorite rendition is by Dan Vasc.

Just saw this 2023.When I was 1st saved about 30yrs ago& I am almost 69 now , my Sunday school class would sing just a couple of the verses, I had no idea that there were more verses, so I wrote A verse about thanking God. After sharing it I was told about how long this song is. But I was still thankful for God's saving me by his Grace & Mercy.

I'm from Malaysia and here in Church, I have always sung this song with tears in my eyes. This song was also sung by a Pastor at my dad's funeral 8 years ago. How poignant to know that such a song has travelled over two centuries to our present day and age to so many cultures in different languages. I'm so blessed to see this movie and how Amazing Grace originated. I have a profound new respect for Mr. John Newton and what he did regarding the slave trade together with Wilberforce. And oh yes the amazing grace of God! How could it ever be otherwise?

I was also saved by the Grace of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ in 1983 , I had taken over 20 sleeping pils to end my life when suddenly Jesus Christ came and saved my life . I was 19 years old . After that I gave my life to the Lord and my life changed .

What a beautiful film about our God and his Awesome Love he has for each of us through his," Amazing Grace". We need more Christian film's like this and to hear of many Very Special People who foraged our way in Christianity. God Bless them. Praise be to the Lord.

Remarkable men and women like John Newton who have suffered and endured a terrible existence who later raised above it who made a positive difference in our history are wonderful examples of the power of faith and hard work. They didn't raise themselves above it. The message of Amazing Grace is Jesus raises us up out of our death from sin.

Watching the life of Newton brought me to tears…AMAZING GRACE …

Since becoming a Christian in 1997, I had always loved the song, Amazing Grace. I had read a book by Leonardo de Vinci that brought me to reviewing my life's needs, goals. From this, I determined that Religion, Family, Music, Water, and Customs were an integral part of my life, and a 'Logo' that I created.. A 'HEART'... representing my heart... inside of which... A 'Musical Staff' and notes relating to the first 5 notes of Amazing Grace; An 'ANCHOR' which represents my love of water (raised in Michigan... swimming, skiing, and 28 years in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Oceans)... the anchor's stock (near the top of the shank) represented the Cross of Jesus Christ... was chained to my heart, revealing that I am 'Anchored in Christ'; The 'SCRIPTURE' reference to Jeremiah 29:11-13, which was my current 'Life Time Scripture'; and lastly, a 'Globe' representing the earth. On the land mass, there was a speck of white, the rest of the land was dark. The white speck represented the 'Balcony People' in my life... the family and friends that supported me. The rest represented the ones that were the 'Basement People' - the ones that tried to slow me down. This aspect of my life, related to the successes in my life... retired from the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Postal Service, and The Home Depot. Most importantly, though, was my conversion to being a 'Born Again Christian'. Thank You Jesus Christ. Thank You, John Newton, for your precious lyrics. This has inspired me to have several books in the process of documenting Hymns located in the Scriptures. Lord willing, to be given to the world before our being returned to the Lord Jesus Christ. Wonderful telling of an important testimony.

His goodness restores my soul. Nothing of my goodness, abilities or characters could contribute to my salvation such a wretch like me. It's only the love of God the Father and the mercy of my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ and the relentless pursuit and conviction of the Holy Spirit leads me to the everlasting heavenly home to Jesus. Very nice and lovely lives lessons in this movie. And I can understand that God has an unique of dealing with His chosen ones before the foundation of the world to restore to Himself. Thank you for this beautiful presentation of a wonderful salvation testimony. Hebrews 7:25 -- "...He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."

One theme that stood out for me is how God uses our situations, the people in our lives, and even our sins to move us closer to Him and toward His Purpose for our lives. Nothing we go through is wasted. God uses everything...the good and the bad to shape us for his Glory.

Those of us who have truly experienced God's grace and mercy can surely identify with John Newton! This film so accurately describes Newton's life, as it also describes the grace and mercy shed on many others. Yes, he was an abominable sinner. Yes, he was a slave trader profiting at the expense of others' misery. His story offers us all hope in this broken world today. May God use us to bring real change today, thereby, improving the lot of countless others.

It wasn't a movie with a 9 figure budget, but The Message is of infinite value! Praise God for the sacrifices of the Newton's and Wilberforce's of the world. This is true history, thank you.

I loved how informative this story was of John Newton’s life. The only thing I knew was him being a captain of a slave trade and writing Amazing Grace. God is the same yesterday and today and tomorrow; that’s one reason I love Him so much bc He’s unchanging.

I know unbelievers who also marvel at this song, which incidentally has topped the charts twice in the UK: once by Judy Collins and once by the Royal Scots Dragoon Band. But perhaps the most beautiful rendering was by the band of the New York Fire Department at the memorial a few days after that fateful day in September, which you know without me even having to mention it to you. It’s a powerful hymn that has had the power to stir the conscience, ever since it appeared in the late 18th century.

I truly heard this song August 20, 1974 after being touched by our Lord! I am now 92 and I hope to soon hear it in my heavenly home!!!

God's grace is truly amazing but did Newton ever asked forgiveness for his cruelty and evil as a slaver to the wretched poor slaves even one l am not denying his conversion but the moaning chanting of the humans in the bottom of the hell of a slave ship and using the melody of the slaves agony for the song amazing grace was a master stroke bringing clarity to the words of remorse for sins committed. As usual European stories when dealing with some history are always sanitize whitewash so they appear not guilty of atrocities

And the movie shows you that John Newton actually treated the slaves alot better then his slave masters treated him when he was a slave in Africa because he remembered what it was like when he was a slave himself. The movie shows this.

I saw Amazing Grace years ago at the theater. It was a different version ,but both very meaningful.

Such a wonderful tale of God's mercy and grace. I found the background music was overpowering the story.

I cried while watching. My only desire is to do God's will, what He designed me for. Thanks Father for the Grace!

What a life he lived, the actor that played John was particularly good and funny at times as well! I went into this video thinking it was the story of Isaac Newton...so I was a bit confused for a while there! Still, I had no idea there was such a great story behind that classic hymn! Great job with the film, a lower budget is irrelevant to me nowadays, I'll take it a thousand times, over what Hollywood is spewing out!

This was beautiful 😍😭 GOD led newton through many hardships because HE had a great plan for newton's life. Amazing grace is still sung by billions of people ! Reaching even non believers ! We must Never underestimate when GOD ALLOWS struggles in our lives. GOD permits it ONLY to build us up and not to break us down, to make us more like JESUS !
