I might take care as to what I say, but I have the right, as we all have, to express our identity. The challenge is to compartmentalise our lives. There are many rhings I would not say at work as it is inappropiate. Margaret Court could be criticised for her opinions, but let it be she as a woman who is criticised. As for being a great sportswoman she should be remembered. We live in a world where if someone does 100 things right, people often forget. However if they do or say one thing wrong, their whole identity is tarnished in history. People as a whole should not be judged because they say something or stand for a principle which you disagree with. Judge not and be you not judged.

A child at my kids school is transitioning, it's known by the teaching staff that this particular child's circumstances might have something to do with known and reported abuse the child is experiencing. Having said that as a Christian I don't condemn gay people, if you meet and talk with them you can see it's not really a choice.

@milster It's not a choice and even if it was, how does it delegitimize someone's humanity and life experience? Being gay is not any way worse than being straight and it's certainly not wrong. If someone isn't physically attracted to members of the opposite sex, then it can't be a choice. You can't choose to be attracted to someone. You can't get your dick up by force.

I don't agree with her. LGBT rights are a political matter, not a religious thing. However, she's a tennis legend of the past and should be remembered as that and respected as such a legend. I also wonder what Serena or Venus Williams think on LGBT, since they're Jehovah's Witnesses, which is a very homophobic religion.

Here is what I think. First and foremost, I'm not religious. I don't believe in make believe religions, I don't believe in make believe gods and I don't believe in the idea of my life being shaped by some fictional book. The whole idea of condemning peoples' sexual orientation because of religion is backward and quite frankly outrageous. When it comes to homosexuality, I personally have no opinion one way or another. Why? Because it is none of my business. Whether a person wants to have relations with a person of the opposite sex or not, it really isn't any of my business. With all due respect, I prefer to concentrate on living my own life than worrying about what others get up to and or their sexual orientation. BUT. I must say that when it comes to the transgender comments made by Margaret Court, I do have to agree. The whole idea of allowing children......yes, children to change their sexy and identity at such young age is very very disturbing. I fully believe that whilst parents are OK to support how and in what ways their children want to dress and act, any potential medical intervention, be it hormonal or surgical should not be allowed until the child is an adult. Once the person in question is an adult, it is up to them to decide what they want to do.

@kwassagirl So what you're saying is that you're in support of children having surgical bodily alterations? Hormones provided to children even prior to going through puberty? I'm son to two surgeons and you won't need to be a medical professional to tell you that in most cases, that is a recipe for disaster.

Margaret Court is speaking from her role as a pastor. I don't believe the the history books should remove her role and honours in tennis (or anybody else who does not conform). In the bible the LGBT community are seen as rebels rebelling against society and even Christ views. Margaret along with the other 4 other women/athletes who completed all major slams in one season should be remembered. However, today, as a Christian Margaret Court should be bringing about peace and not anxiety.

@viking saxon heresay. god didn't write the bible. nothing has been proven in over 2k years. furthermore, many submissions were made (including from at least one of the apostles) which said jesus was nothing more than a man. so it's heavily edited. therefore, my reference to men (and yours to holy men) are one of the same. so no homework needed.
