Controversial because she holds an opinion? Aren't we all allowed opinions in the free world?

Yes but her notoriety is derived from tennis and she’s using that platform to voice personal opinion not related to her tennis expertise.

It comes down to quoting from The Bible and a lot of people this day and age not agreeing with what is written in it or tolerating others that make the quotes it seems. Realistically all sinners(and we are all sinners) are being reminded to repent of their sins and/or face the consequences on judgement day........it's a simple message.

@Ka Pow The thing is it's not based solely on repentance as you would appreciate, that's only one part of it, but an essential part as are other contributing factors that make up the whole.

I think she is a great sportsperson, but needs to keep her religious and other opinions to herself. Keep the religion separate from her sporting honours, after all that is a private part of her life and people are not honouring her for that, thank goodness.
