Theyve cleverly dodged the Die Hard question by including Eignt Crazy Nights on the card, which is a Chanukah movie, meaning the group of films clearly is not restricted to Christmas ones.

Very true. In fact they never say the word Christmas once on the card. So, does that mean that they're implying Die Hard is a movie appropriate for any holiday?

actually they just say "holiday-themed" so, since there are a lot of holidays, I'd open it up even more: Rebirth on the Fourth of July, Arbor Day Elf, heck I'm sure there's a good Day of the Dead reference in here somewhere... I'd definitely accept Festivus, too!

It's because Hasbro is a sinking ship, that is also on fire. Wizards of the coast is one of the few profit makers they seem to have anymore I'm not surprised they're getting rid of the wrong people in the slightest. That’s what they get for charging $20+ for action figures. As a parent, kids aren’t even into toys as much as we were growing up…they’re more interested in digital items and the toys they do want are under $10 and branded as a “mystery box”.

@@RedBobcatGames I watched it again this Christmas night since you put it that way. (I realize you're in the UK so its about 2:30AM your time, but that's what we get for inventing timezones.) I kinda get it. The bit that everyone watches the movie for, the fantasy action revenge-love story with the witty dialogue (The "Sports") has positively nothing to do with Christmas. The overstory, the grandfather connecting with his grandson because he's sick on or around Christmas, is definitely a Christmas story. I always kinda dismissed those scenes as cheap meta-commentary on these sorts of adventure stories, with struggles between boyish action-adventure literally fighting for screen time against the emotional portions of the story. On this rewatch though, I tried to take notice of the arcs that the narrator and his grandson went on through the story. Ultimately, their story is about love and compromise. The grandson realises the authenticity and value of love and connection, first despising affection both in the story and from his grandfather, then growing to appreciate what love truly means and feels like from consuming the story. The narrator is compromising the truth of this somewhat dry, methodical swashbuckling romance with his own wit and humor, its strongly implied most of the humorous voices and witty jokes are the byproduct of the grandfather altering what's on the page to suit it grandson more-so than attempting to stick to the story HIS grandfather told him all those years ago. Those themes are TEXTBOOK Christmas movie. So yeah, good pick mate, I never looked at the film as much more then a very witty comedy. Hope you enjoyed Christmas, and have a happy new year.

2:44 While unfinity does include tournament legal cards in the base set; all commons and uncommons that are not tournament legal MUST have a non-holo acorn stamp. Legal rares have a regular rare stamp while acorn rares have acorn stamps. A common/uncommon with the unfinity set symbol and NO acorn is tournament legal. This is similar to commons and uncommons from universes beyond that must still have a triangle stamp at the bottom due to being from a crossover.

There are three kinds of holiday media. 1: media that is themed around the holiday (for example: Elf, Rudolph, etc). 2: media that people traditionally enjoy on the holiday (for example: live sports, "that one movie", etc). 3: actively participating in an event like Caroling, decorating the house, Trick or Treating, a corn maze, egg hunt, or going to theatres or operas. 3 is often a source for new entries into 2 or 1.

Sure, I somewhat agree. But I also understand that if Magic is a collectable card game, then it is somewhat strange not to be able to collect them all. @@RedBobcatGamesthe pokemon tcg just handle the whole collecting aspect better, as does the Yugioh OCG. Basic versions of cards are plentiful and available, it's the special treatment that are more expensive. Look at magic, where sometimes the only version of a card *is* the special version. Looking at you, nexus of fate. Even the Yugioh tcg, as much as it shafts players, still actually reprints cards, at a time where they're still viable. I'm convinced proxies play a not insignificant role in keeping the game going. God knows I wouldn't still be playing without them. Minimum wage in the USA is $7.50 an hour. At 40 hours a week, 52 weeks in a year, that comes out to $15,080 annually. So if Chris gave up his paycheck, he could have paid those fired at just over half the rate the USA government requires them to pay anybody. Die Hard being a Christmas movie is a common misconception. Yes, it is set around Christmastime, but so are various other holidays. More importantly, the movie is about an attack on a fortress, where the beleaguered, outnumbered, and outgunned defender somehow manages to hold out despite all odds, and there is a lot of fire involved.
