    I triend with soldering pasted and with a Weller soldering station at 450 °C but I was not able to remove the old button. How did you do that? Any suggestion? Thanks

    Thanks Sam. I ordered the same switches and swapped out the annoying klicky Omron switches. I like the silent soft touch of these switches. FYI - shipping took 1 month.

    Wow! I tried to find a "silent click" ergo mouse for the longest time before giving up and settling for the MX Master 2S... Watched this, then ended up snatching some silent switches out of a cheap Amazon mouse I had laying around and swapped those into my MX Master and I'm in love! The MX Master with Silent Switches is THE PERFECT MOUSE! Will be doing the same again whenever I finally upgrade my 2S! 😍 Cost: $0

    ​@@PhilipProchazka Well... It's been three months and it works just as well as it ever did with the loud, clicking buttons... only now, it's silent. I'm so glad you felt the need to share your 0.47 Kč (roughly 2 cents after conversion)... I downgraded my mouse... OMG what on Earth will I do now that Philip doesn't like my silent mouse and thinks it's a downgrade? 😭😢I'm so mad at myself for modding my mouse in a way that Philip doesn't like... One day I will do something good enough for Philip! I'm so sorry Philip, what on Earth can I do to make it up to you?? I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it's a snarky, "I'm better than you" opinion... however, if your hobby is clicking on a video to make a silent mouse, then criticizing someone for making their mouse silent, maybe you are better than me?

    I will definitely try this! Switched from Nexus Silent, which my ears loved, but my wrist hated, to MX Master 3 which my wrist loves but I'm getting really annoyed by the loud clicks. Maybe I can transfer the nexus buttons instead of just binning it

    Thank you for the video, helped me a lot. I can work from home late at night without bothering the wife with annoying clicky sounds. Note for anyone that will try this: the ribbon cable clips are very delicate, they open up like a hood.

    Nice mod. Still feels the buttons when pressing, but it is almost 100% silent. Ordered 10 pcs in case they don`t last as long as the original. Remove stickers with heat gun, then you can re-heat them and use again.

    @@nolan8017 it is some cheap switches I bought from aliexpress. They might not last as long as the original, so it is nice to have spare switches. But I don`t think I need to replace them often.

    thanks for this video! I have a mx master 3, It start to give me a little problem to left button (single clicl,, sometime it doesn't works) so maybe soon I will change the switch. This video is very useful. One question: what kind of glue do you use to put again the black bands?

    It's on the double layer tape. Heat it with the hot gun or hair blower to heal and unstick carefully. Then you can stick it back again.

    Hi Sam, theses silent micro switches are durable as conventional switches ? I had a switch problem in my G500 and change the micro switch, but the click sound it got worse.

    Haven't soldered much in my life - what's that copper looking cable you bring in that seems to suck up the soldering from the holes @1:34? Edit: OK I just googled copper desoldering, and I found something called desoldering wick, and it's that exact product. I already have a soldering iron and now I just have to buy the 10 pcs mute buttons on ebay for a few bucks. Thanks!

    Great video and mod! A question: using different type of switches (usually, mice clicks have those 3 legs to be soldered) doesn't interfere with the circuit?

    yep, as you can see 1:10 3rd leg not used at all here on the board. on the pict it`s firzt leg, so used only 2nd and 3rd legs where I soldered the 2leg switch

    @@samlow9077 Thanks for the super-fast reply! I ditched the 2S because of the loud wheel, and now with the mx3 I couldn't believe the wheel is so perfect, but the microswitches got somehow louder!

    ​@@grproteus agree, mx 3 scroll awesome. It using electromagnetic system which gives this quite performance. I`m happy with mx3 and after quite mod with switches. Do it as well and you will don`t take any other mouse in the future)

    ​@@samlow9077 already looking into it in aliexpress. Found some red kailh switched that are supposedly pin compatible with omrons, but I don't know how they sound. Possibly will be using the "noname" square ones like you propose. Did you have any double-click issues with the square ones, btw? Thanks!

    Any with 4.5 stars and above on Amazon (60W or above - they are all 60W!). Lots of choice when it comes to kits. Add on solder-wick (none of the kits seem to come with wick). If you want something extra nice (really not needed) get a soldering station.

    They are not compatible. Mx2s with mechanical scroll, in Mx3 electromagnetic

    It`s working with Logitech MX master, 2s and MX3 mouses, I don`t know about g304.. You can open it and check the buttons inside if they look the same Omron

    I just did something similar to my MX master (using a mac) I used a different method. Adding some memory foam inside the microswitch itself. Could feel the click, but not hear it. Didn't liked it at all. So ended up soldering in a pair of new switches. Although i sometimes hate the click sound, it does help me using the mouse.

    My gesture button stopped working after 2 years of warranty (2s). I’ve already had problems with my mx master 1 mouse. Crappy quality for a 80 dollars mouse! I’m very annoyed with Logitech mx lineup but I didn’t have any other alternative

    I have used mx master for about a year, 2s for about 8 months and got mx3, no problem. Following this video you can disassemble the mouse and replace the gesture button, it should be not so hard, just do it carefully.

    Sam Low I’ve disassembled it and after a few clicks the button stops working again, sometimes it’s always pressed and other it doesn’t work, it I shake hardly the mouse sometimes it functions again I don’t know it the problem is with the physical metal membrane push button (I had to check with a multimeter), because it looks ok when I pressed (feels clicky) Also, didn’t had the change to say it before, but congrats for your video, very well done

    Sam Low my history with mx master 1 was the left click button became unresponsive (doesn’t maintain the press 10% of times - bad micro switch). But Logitech warranty gave me a new model. I buy a 2s and use it almost daily for more than 2 years (warranty ended last april). I never had problems with the micro switches... but now I have a problem with the gesture button for the first time

    Yes, it can be a membrane issue, as I remember here 1 or 2 screws for the gesture plate with the button. Try to push up the membrane and find a good position for the plate to get the membrane pin be directly up to microswitch button. I saw this issue as well with one mx master which I also fixed buttons.
