    Killer song, and fifty years later I'm still trying to figure out John Bonham's time keeping. He hits drum parts that should not be possible, and when you think there should be one he delays it. It's genius, but as an Air drummer of my caliber very frustrating! 😂

    If you count the 16th notes in the void, you can sync up his strike that ends the silence. I think they created the song to frustrate all of us air drummers.

    Presence was a very underrated album, one of my personal favourites. It's the only Led Zep album that has no keyboards on it. Jimmy Page also said that this is one of his favourite Zep albums.

    Yes Brother YES!! Beyond underrated, and a personal fave of mine also. They took all of the recent tragedy they went through (Plant's son dying, his horrible car accident, the fight Bonzo had with the security team in Oakland, Bonzo becoming an alcoholic, Page getting more and more into Heroin.

    Love the reaction - Bonzo - amazing right? The surviving members of the band got together to perform a benefit concert for Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic records, in 2007. This was the first ( and sadly the last so far) time they had performed a full set list since their 1980 concert tour. Bonham died shortly after that. For this gig, John's son, Jason Bonham, is on drums and is fabulous. The band is still amazing and tight. They did this number - and Kashmir is 🔥🔥 well worth watching. Thanks! ☮

    The album "Presence" suffers from a serious flaw. It comes after the masterpiece "Physical Graffiti". There are MANY really good songs on the album that most people forget about or never heard of. Including one of my favorite Zepp songs most people have never heard. "Hots on for Nowhere." To me, it's the last true "Zeppelin" album. As "In Through the Outdoor" was not a bad album but not a true "Zeppelin" album either.

  • @helenespaulding7562

    @helenespaulding7562

    10 ай бұрын

    It has a couple of clunkers on it, imo. But I think it’s sales were down for two reasons: musical taste was beginning to change and punk was on the horizon. 2) And by 1976 there were many more competitive bands out there that were doing the same style or even heavier, than in 1969 I think it speaks to the time more than the quality of Presence. As we just heard, Zep was still putting out excellent songs with excellent musicianship. But Achilles Last Stand was SO prog for them, it threw off their core audience. Plus, what 15-25 year old guy wants to listen to a slow, 7 minute blues song in Tea For One? Over time, the estimation of Presence has grown, from what I’ve seen in comments and reactors.
