Jimmy Page has said that he would remember going on stage snd coming off, but in between he was channeling and on another plane. He was just the conduit. It came out of the ether and onto his guitar which is why his playing was often a bit “sloppy”. He reached towards his own limits to try to express what he heard in his head and he honestly didn’t worry about sounding perfect. He had balls, did Jimmy Page. Heck, the whole band did.

ANY song from the 1973 MSG shows is incredible...this is Led Zep at their height...Plant's voice is awesome, JPJ and Bonzo are just on point every single song...and Page is just awesome...every song they ever played live always had something different than the studio version...see Trampled Under Foot from Earls Court in 1975...great example of their incredible improvisational skills...or In My Time of Dying from same show...they were just so D____ TIGHT!! Thanks for doing these for us Old Heads...I so enjoy people actually watching true artists at work...without autotune and songs lasting more than 3-4 min's...really appreciate it

Led Zeppelin are one of the best-selling music artists of all time; their total record sales are estimated to be between 200 and 300 million units worldwide. THE reason my friend and I in 1973 and 1977 went to Led Zeppelin concerts? Jimmy Page. He was a brilliant shining spectacle under those stage lights - you honestly couldn't believe what you were seeing, hearing. The Master of Guitar. Absolutely, Robert Plant, an excellent vocalist and front man...but as for me ...Jimmy Page was the sole reason to have the live Zeppelin experience. Check out "Dazed and Confused"...Zeppelin never disappoints!

I was a teenager when I saw LZ in Baltimore 1973. A brunch of girls went and instantly fell in love/mesmerized with Jimmy Page. Robert Plant was SO sexy when performing. And today I am 65…those same group of girls who have never forgotten Led Zeppelin, we still listen to every album. Back in the day, We memorized the lyrics by picking the needle straight up off the LP, writing down the words placing the needle back on the LP❤ They are a part of our lives & have been for decades. I am so glad we grew up in the 70’s! These poor kids today really don’t understand REAL talent, especially instrumental & DEFINITELY lyrics. 😉

Funny thing about this song. It only became popular since this youtube stuff started. Sure us Zeppelin songs knew about it but not the masses. Another song like this to a lesser degree is "In My Time of Dying." That is a top 3-5 song by them for me. yet no one thats not a Zeppelin fan has ever really heard it. And the Live version I think is as good as this song live. By the way, this is the official live version of the song that replaced the original version about 5-10 years ago. The original version was a little bit better and showed the crowd a lot. It also didn't have those dam pop ups on the screen. And it had a short segment of them behind stage relaxing and talking. You can still find it but you gotta dig a bit.

You're hearing Page. Studio musician, yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, the firm. He's the most brilliant musician just not guitarist. There's a whole story behind him producing in such a short time with Michael jaggers company or his loaned space that it seemed supernatural. He owned Alistar crowley's home at one point. He was fascinated with the occult but zero evidence he was a practitioner, just a student ,as am I. He is the most talented musician of our lifetime. He used Mississippi Delta Blues. Elvis was an influence, and we know musically his style was African Rhythms from the Deep South (southern gospelmusic included) with bluegrass which is of Irish/Scottish origin (country music is closest derivative) it was formerly known as rockabilly. Buddy holly. Etc. It progressed to more blues, it's why media wouldn't show young Elvis dancing, it was too black, too primal, but everyone adored it. He broke so many barriers. Led Zeppelin. (Page in general) really adored Mississippi Delta Blues, he loved Elvis. They took those musical origins and made it heavy metal with the most brilliant musicians who were also symbiotic. They will be recognized as the Mozart of their era.
