The phased out guitar intro, the insane harmonica solo, Pages great solo and funky rhythm playing, Jones bass all brought together via a Bonzo hammering , the drums are insane.

An excellent song inspired partially by Blind Willie Johnson. You hit the nail on the head exactly; Jimmy often said the 4 of them performing had almost an ESP amongst them. They just knew they could soar wherever they wanted. It was also a big part of disbanding after Bonzo's passing - how do you find someone with ESP? Someone else could learn the songs but how do you teach Bonzo's "feel" or touch? Bonzo was once in a lifetime.

This song is one of the nastiest pieces of pure rock that Zeppelin ever produced. It was almost like when their backs were against the wall, the band pulled out maybe the heaviest piece of rock they'd ever done, and that's including "Black Dog", "When The Levee Breaks" and "Whole Lotta Love".

This is one of their songs that is occasionally my favorite Zep song. It’s in the rotation cause I can’t ever have one favorite. The message is kinda to the point of people who want to get in your business and tell you how to live. ‘If I don’t get to heaven it’s nobody’s fault but mine. Don’t try to save my soul, I’m good. I’ll be over here rolling a joint if you need me.’ I don’t agree with that life, but hey, people are free to make their choices.

This track caught them at a very intense time in the bands history. Although I have heard a lot of live versions of this song, none of them captured the raw intenseness of the studio cut....which is as powerful and nasty as anything they ever did.

The other cool thing is Robert Plant Matching his voice to the guitar and almost Having a back and forth conversation with the guitar. And they do that in a few songs. It always sounds awesome. And as far as them being in sync... That's what made some of their live performances so legendary. They literally lived inside each other's minds And they knew exactly what the other ones were going to do before they did it Based on a few key sounds. I'm always amazed and I always enjoy newcomers to Led Zeppelin. When they realize how different their styles are, they realize that it's not what they thought it was, and they realize how talented these guys are. There's a reason why they are always consistently ranked in the top. Basically, 1 or 2 top bands of all time. Sorry about the random punctuation my phone is driving me crazy.

I play bass (used to be semi-pro in college I tell you hwat) and there was one cover band I played in where me and the drummer were on the same page with that kind of ESP, one of the best musical experiences of my life even though it wasn't original work. We both knew that no matter what happened we were listening for each other and could do anything we needed to cover mistakes or extend the song. Even still, can only imagine how these guys felt playing together with Bonham behind them. You said it man, in their element they were undefeatable.

Oh How You Got It!! Two absolute Monster Songs!! NFBM is a terrific song, the play between Pages' slide guitar work and Plants' vocals is amazing, then add the bass, drums and harmonica ... Hot D*&#!! Pointing out this song and Achilles, ya you get it. Two songs true Zep fans love and put near the top of the bands long list of great tunes. Both song Kick and the guitar work in Achilles Last Stand..... Sublime! Have watched since you first heard Zep, it has been quite the ride and have been enjoyed watching you become a fan. Takes me back to listening those first times and just being blown away how every album was different yet still grabbed your soul. Thanks

I love this song and the underrated album it's on. One of my favorite Zeppelin tunes, and that's saying a lot. I keep hoping to see more of my favorite reactors reacting to this tune. Is this the most killer harmonica solo you've ever heard or what? The guitar solo that follows it is pretty dope too. Then it builds up to the ending and goes for the kill. I spent a lot of time in college playing this song very loud for my neighbors.

As a kid of 14, I was just getting into Zeppelin when John Bonham died. They really opened me up to all sorts of music I might never have heard otherwise, the blues and particularly Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters, as well as 60's blues-inspired classic rock, Jimi Hendrix... even jazz and funk later on... When I first heard this album I was kind of disappointed, it was much different than their earlier albums I guess, but I always like d the one and Achilles Last Stand. The whole thing holds up a lot better today then it did back then.

You've got a good ear for what's going on Biz. Jimmy Page and John Bonham are completely in sync. JPJ also right in the pocket with them. Ironic that the song your reaction bled into was In My Time of Dying where exactly the same interplay is going. Both are in my top LZ songs 0f all. Plant improvizes around it. When you're done with this album in 2 more songs, I will give you my list of fav songs and albums by them. Peace.

I saw another video on you tube explaining why John Bonham was such a unique drummer. It explains most drummers play a beat and sync up with the bassist. But Bonham would often sync with Page and Jones would follow. They also did alot with different timing and beats. Really interesting to watch

Zeppelin only released eight albums between 1969 and 1979, and it seems funny to hear soneone say "Maybe this wasn't one of their top albums" about any one of those releases, But I guess it only seems funny because back then they were unanimously praised by all as 'The band at the very top.." Every album was a Zeppelin album, so there were very few people who dared to measure the quality of their work. Some would claim that 'Four' was the greatest, I personally love Houses of the Holy above the rest.
