Leaving Neverland | Was Michael Jackson Guilty?

This video answers the question: Can I review the Leaving Neverland movie? This movie features two individuals (Wade Robson and James Safechuck) who have accused Michael Jackson of abuse. This movie has elicited strong emotions in many and these emotions tend to interfere with critical thinking.

I was molested by a friend of my brothers at the age of 6. I told my parents and they confronted his parents. They literally threw my parents out of their house and my brother wasn't allowed to see him again. His parents never believed that their son could do something so horrible. You never know what anyone is capable of.

I met and conversed with Michael Jackson on a plane trip from El Paso to Dallas his brother's sat behind me and Michael to my left. Their father, Joe was seated up toward the front of the plane. Michael was to perform for the Ed Sullivan show in New York. Before boarding the plane, I saw Michsel practicing dance moves before boarding. I got the impression that his brothers were indulgent. But during the flight, Michael chewed his fingernails and focused on Joe, who constantly called Michael forward on the plane. The parental control he was subject to was overwhelming. I see Michael as a nervous and frustrated kid who just wanted to escape the controlling adult world. Children would be his escape. But Children grow and change rapidly. So their presence would never be on a plateau like adulthood. So, he sought out more than a few. This would be his neverland.

Tom Sneddon didn't let go of Michael Jackson for 10 years and travelled to Australia to find other "victims" but came up with nothing until the Arvizos. I really wish, sometimes, that the 2005 trial was televised like the Johnny Depp trial. The media tried to twist the narritive with that one, too, but they failed because the public saw how the case REALLY played out and was pretty much ALL on Johnny's side. I'm almost certain that the same thing would have happened if Michael's trial was televised. It's a shame.

This film shows how predators like Jackson operate and that is valuable information for all of us: too many people have unrealistic notions that sexual predators grab kids in a dark alley and rape them, or are hateful people that we can identify easily. This film showed that often times their victims love and respect the person who abuses them - this leads to them denying the abuse when asked as they wish to protect their abuser. Guilt over sexual behaviour - still far too prevalent in most societies - also acts to silence abused children - this film dealt sensitively with all of these issues. One interesting thing that Macauley Culkin has said was that Michael didn't really enjoy meeting or hanging out with other adults aside from a select few. To Michael, all the adults were just interested in his money or a business opportunity, whereas kids could actually see him as a friend. He also mentioned that the kids Michael chose to befriend were aspiring child stars. This is important because Michael wanted to protect them and provide guidance to them because he knew how cruel the industry can be.

They said Michael was just a big kid and it was like a sleep over with nothing weird. He was a really humble, generous, and nice guy. They both said it was about money because not only did Michael have a lot of it, he also use to give the kids whatever they wanted as gifts. Even his one-of-a-kind items that were personally designed for him to wear on tour. One of the guys I know, Brandon, who was in Moonwalker (he played little Michael in the parody Bad video and Zeke in the film) he told me this decades ago when we were in high school. I believe both of them. Also, if you don’t remember, Jordan, the kid who’s parents started the whole 1993 fiasco, admitted the day Michael passed that he lied. Now, all of a sudden, right after the law passes extending the statue of limitations to the age of 40, they now want to bring this up? After they were turned down cold by literary agencies when they tried to make it into a book first yet no one wanted to touch it. Both tried to sue the estate for &1.5 million and that didn’t work either. All they have is here say. No proof and it would be more than just 2 kids coming out to say this if it were true. It’s all bs. They just want money. He did nothing but give these kids money, gifts, happiness, and friendship. If the parents were so concerned considering the fact that they too were invited to stay over (and some did stay at the ranch), then they should’ve said no from the start. Kids weren’t being just dropped off at the ranch. Just to be clear. There were no closed doors or sleeping shirtless, or anything weird. Everything that I’ve seen on here that everyone is saying is all been expressed by the media and not one piece of it is true. There’s the logic right there. Anyone who has worked with MJ or knows someone who has basically has a similar closing to their experience. He was humble, charitable, funny, friendly, extremely personable, selfless in a way I can’t even express I’ve seen any human be, and genuinely nice... and was very heterosexual. These guys need to give up already. I watched 5 minutes of Leaving Neverland and turned it off.

alanni celeste Thank you. You know, I’ve reached out to a couple of my friends and their responses were that they didn’t want to get involved. It’s really crazy because you have all these independent “journalists” (if that’s what they can be called anymore), making false reports about the different kids that stayed there over a span of years and even saying they spoke to them. Even those are false. No one wants to talk to them because their words become twisted around to slander Michael. Personally, I would be more afraid of jail time for lying in court if I was these two men who are upset because they’re broke. A lot of the kids didn’t get money but, they didn’t care. During a time when child actors were taken advantage of, MJ provided them with a safe ground of friendship. It really is disturbing when you see someone who was not only a performer but, an amazing humanitarian become scrutinized even after death. You truly have to be spiritually dead to do something like that.

A lot of the those that were kids at the time that were there have said nothing happened but, the media doesn’t care to hear them out. They only want to report the negative narrative. It wouldn’t matter. Trust me. It’s pretty pathetic and disappointing. I know these guys won’t win their case because their testimonies contradict facts. Perjury is punishable by jail time. I’ve already sent these guys a message. Even the Jackson kids are trying their best to not come out angry. I can only imagine how they feel.

I have been diagnosed about seven times with ADHD (I always disagreed, lol) but I found myself constantly rewinding this (the Leaving Neverland show) till I just gave up. My sister said I was callous to think MJ may not have been a molester because I just wasn't ready to just say he was... I couldn't watch that show, though, so it is somewhat comforting that right off the bat you say this was boring. :) You, Doc, are NEVER boring!! I had a friend whose Mom acted like MJ. Her Mom would literally just hang out in bed all day watching shows, and with all the kids in the neighborhood. Looking back, that was creepy, but she never bothered any of us, she just liked talking to us, she said she really disliked all adults after her husband cheated on her and the whole neighborhood knew about it and didn't tell anyone. To say she had trust issues would be an understatement. This was in the 90s. She just didn't like to get out of bed. She just wanted us to fetch her this and that. Like cookies and stuff. She just wanted to watch her shows in bed and talk to us sometimes but most of the time she just wanted to watch her shows. With all of us kids (her child's friends). The shows she watched were pretty crazy so most of the time we wanted to hang out with her Mom more than our friend. I always wondered why she needed such a huge bed. But when you're 12 you just go with the flow.

Unbiased? Todd Grande is obviously a Michael Jackson fan. That seems to be clouding his judgment, like that of many other fans who refuse to believe the artist they grew up with, and whose music they loved so much, was a pedophile and child molester. Meanwhile, a ton of other psychologists who are experts in the field of CSA believe the victims. The mental gymnastics some people do to justify sleeping with dozens of little boys, switching them for younger ones once they age out, taking them on world tour (all the while never sustaining a credible relationship with an adult man or woman), and owning books with naked little boys typically found in the posession of pedophiles (found in MJs bedroom during the raid) is astounding. Occam's razor says MJ was guilty.

His sleepovers have nothing to do with fame and power. What power did he have anyway when America treated him like less than human any nobody could tell any lie about him and get away with it? MJ grew up sleeping with others all the time including unrelated adults who treated him better than his own father. He literally considered sharing his bed as an act of hospitality. Also, he loved strangers like family. That is an alien concept to most people. People fear what they don't understand and what they fear they want to destroy. Keep in mind without money and jealous being a factor MJ would have never been accused.

I am now a grandmother and I had always found children to be fascinating creatures. Before the age of seven they are so innocent, and I have so enjoyed telling them fantasy stories of elfs, fairies and distant lands. They listen and believe what you tell them. Later, when they grow older they are so wise in their conclusions. I truly adore the mind of children, and always took my own kids, and my nephews and nieces on all of my vacations because it was my experience that my vacations were a lot more fun with the kids. There´s a special magical energy in the air when kids are around us. I always thought that Michael enjoyed being around kids as much as I do. I loved Michael Jackson all of my life, and I never thought he was a child molester. May he rest in eternal peace. Thank you for your fair analysis. After reading my post I should add that like Michael I had a very domineering mother who forced me to do most of her work from an early age. I had three younger siblings and was forced to take care of them, cook for them, and help with house shores from an early age. I don´t mind the work since it taught me to be independent, what I resent is that I wasn´t allowed to be a child.

You are right 💘 Michael was abused as a child : His father regularly whipped him and his brothers and called him names . Joe Jackson beat his kids until they bled and nicknamed them after their flaws . He was physically and verbally abused by his father . He had no childhood . He worked non stop since the age of 6. He had no friends growing up , he never went on a birthday party or trick or treat . His life was incessant rehearsals , non stop performances and recordings . He never celebrated birthdays , Christmas or Halloween . He was mercilessly bullied for his looks by his father who called him fat nose and pizza face . He was the breadwinner for his family since he was 6 years old . He had the midas touch : He is the top earning dead celebrity every single year since his death . He holds the world record for the top selling album of all times . He is the highest paid artist of all times . All this is nothing more than their own fantasy. There is absolutely no evidence that Jackson considered child sexual abuse "love" or that he did not perceive it as harming children - on the contrary, there is a lot of evidence to the contrary. Like this handwritten note he wrote to his sister-in-law, Dee Dee Jackson, when his nephew Taj was molested by his maternal uncle. “Dee Dee, please read this article on child molestation, and please read it to Taj, T.J., and Tarill - she emphasizes that even relatives can be child molesters, even uncles and aunts can rape nephews or nieces. Please read. I love MJ. “I would never do anything sexual to a child. I don't like it. I do not even think about it. I'd rather open my wrists. It's not Michael Jackson, sorry, it's someone else."

Carolina Sousa Yes you’re spot on in your comment about the destitute and starving of this world. But the truth of being rich and famous is that it then becomes possible to live life in an extreme way, unfettered by many of the constraints that most of us have to live with. And that can cause great damage. Sadly, I have personal experience of that happening. The person can easily tip into a world that is unbalanced, and sometimes quite dark. They can then begin to see reality in a distorted way - the usual ‘moderators’ are not there. The most obvious example being with the use of drugs, which can then go on to cause even greater distortions. Even on a low level, and without drug use, a person who is largely unfettered by things like money can end up overplaying their hand, and wielding too much power, which I have seen backfire and damage relationships and self worth. There is much to be said, from what I have seen, for the things that moderate our lives. Even being extraordinarily talented can bring the shadow side of human nature into the equation. Being an artistic genius is not necessarily a recipe for happiness. It can lead you to question yourself and what you are doing, to anguish and torment in some cases, and it can also build a climate of distrust, as you get to be more and more suspicious of people’s motives for befriending you. At this point you can even begin to doubt those friends and family members who you have always trusted. So not only the genius suffers, but those close to them, too. Not for everyone. Some manage to handle great wealth and great fame. But many get burnt. It’s that old one about absolute power corrupting absolutely. And people with huge wealth and fame can also fall foul of unscrupulous people around them, who want a chunk of the action. Genius is, it seems to me, a bitter sweet thing in which you fly extraordinarily high, but also have the ability to fall from these exceptional heights. It’s a difficult one, but I have seen people undone by fame and fortune, and adopting extreme and unhealthy ways of living. What an irony that having money, power, fame - things many of us would secretly rather like to dabble with - myself included -can have the potential to wreck lives.

I went into show business and started doing concerts at age 14, and my emotional and social development was seriously arrested at that age. I’m still learning how to be an adult. So I can only imagine what doing concerts from age eight would do to Michael’s development. I believe Michael’s development was arrested at eight and thus he felt confident and at ease with other little kids, because that’s how old he felt inside. In show business, you get used to a very unusual way of relating to people, because you’re on stage and everyone else is clapping for you and loving you - not the real you though, only the performer. Then you go home and you’re all alone again. It’s very extreme. You begin to get “off stage fright”. You know you can sing and play but how do you talk to people? I’ve got fourteen years of normal life to draw on, but Michael only had seven or eight years, and those years were far from normal. Plus he was a million times more famous than I ever was. Maybe children were the only people who related to him as a person and not just a celebrity.

It’s very obvious he was either a pedophile, or asexual with the mind of a child.

Normally I like Dr. Grande's reviews and analysis. But not this one. I found the movie not boring at all and I feel like Grande misses the bigger picture about the kind of offender Michael might have been. The master criminal theory is not in that movie at all imo. I don't know what Grande watched but this time I can see he was previously biased. The offender Michael might have been is not a master criminal but more of a naive pedophile with too much power and an unique way of grooming based on his persona. I would have expected a totally different kind of analyses even though Grande does make some reasonable points.

@@jeffreyking4448 How do you *not* find it boring? At least 30% of the “documentary” is repeated drone shots from high in the sky. It just goes on and on. Also, I was born in 1978, and like Dr. G, I lived this in real time. I remember everything as it occurred. I remember Michael being my first favorite artist, my first crush, my first huge confusion over his ever-changing appearance and the constant tabloid reports. I remember when the first accusations happened and, on live television, Michael (via satellite from his home) spoke out and urged the world to allow him to prove his innocence. Then, I recall that he settled, rather than doing so. As a lifelong, hardcore MJ and Janet fan (I honestly do not love any artists more than them), I recall feeling conflicted and questioning his innocence. That went on for a number of years, though it never deterred my adoration for his craft. Still, I doubted him. I recall when the Basher documentary was aired. It looked so bad. Michael seemed so lost and so opposite of the man I’d loved from the age of 2. It was difficult to look at him. It hurt my spirit. It was painful to imagine all of the craziness. But, again, I watched and lived all of this stuff in real time, and I’m leaving out things, as there’s just so damn much (his marriage and on/off relationship with Lisa Marie, his absurd sham of a marriage to Debbie because she was his surrogate and he was still seeing Lisa Marie, how he looked and seemed at his celebration that was filmed in NYC just a day or two before the 911 attacks, etc). Phew. There’s more to unpack than I have the energy. But NONE of it was boring. This movie is one-sided trash with absolutely no evidence, and though it shouldn’t exist at all, if it had to, it should’ve been 90 minutes, at most. Finally, I have read, watched, and listened to every piece of evidence from the State of California and the FBI files, as related to Michael Jackson and these allegations. It took a long damn time to do, but I did it. And, finally, Wade Robson is a snake in the grass. Just a few years before this “documentary,” he can be found singing Michael’s praises and insisting he will be apart of the Vegas show that was created. Wade was not hired or used for said gig. Wade is not a honest or noble person. Read up and learn about him. He’s after money. That’s a fact. He feels entitled to said money. As for Safechuck, he just seems easily swayed and desperate, too.

I'm older than you so I've followed Michael's career off and on over the years starting from the very beginning. I had a huge crush on him as a child of probably 10 years old. I remember having a dream that I met him. Eventually, I did meet him in SF when The Jackson's had a press conference at the Hyatt Regency in SF in 1978 or 1979 to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of them being in show business or of their first record or something like that. Very few people were there and I felt terrible that there wasn't more of a to do for the event. Shortly after that Michael's solo career took off. But I digress. I truly didn't want to think that Michael could hurt children and I think your analysis has helped me to no longer think he was guilty so I have you to thank for this. One aspect of his life that I think is important but hasn't been talked about is what about his relationships with women? Do pedophiles have sex with women? If I recall correctly, Lisa Presley said that she had sex with Michael and didn't other women in his life say they had sex with him? Isn't that pertinent information? Oh, one last thing I want to say; I really like that you said how important it is to tell the truth because one's credibility can be destroyed in an instant. So, true.

Michael was an oddball. He lost his childhood thanks to mean Joe. But I really don't think he sexually abused any children. Not 1 famous rich person/ child has ever said he touched them. Like the Doc says, He should not of settled. I understand it was a nightmare for Michael, but think about this too... If you were 100% convinced your child was molested, would you want Money, or would you want that person in prison so they can never do this to another child? The parents of the child were perfectly happy taking the 22M. Now.... what if he were guilty..... I guess that makes the parents Pimps! Shame on them!!!!! I still believe to this day Michael was the victim. He was a strange man that acted like a child in many ways. Immature. Trying perhaps to have the experience of what normal children have in the sleepover thing, and making friends. Strange.... yes. But that alone does not make him a pedophile.

Hello, so far I enjoyed watching your take on MJ as well as others. I think you gave a fair analysis regarding the documentary. Too add my own thoughts and opinion regarding MJ is that although I think he was eccentric because of the way that industryś demanding ways, as well as his fatherś need for them to succeed however, I do not think he would hurt anyone especially children. Here is the thing why I think that, the reason he loved being around children, ( especially little boys) is because he never got to be a kid and play like children do. I can innerstand that because I love babies, especially from ages 0-6 years of age, cause they are sooo cuddly, soft, cute and funny to me. Hell I am not going to lie, sometimes when I see children out and about playing freely without a care in the world I wish I could join them. Another reason he loves being around children is because adult life can be so uptight, judgmental, indoctrinating and stressful as well as demanding and being child like represents the total opposite. More importantly, MJ was one of a kind truly beautiful soul that most adults cannot believe exist anymore with all the corruption, immoral, and hate filled people in the world. RIP MJ you are greatly missed. Love u and thank you for being the change I would love to see in this world.

@@msovaz77 I think people overstate the idea he was childlike. He clearly cultivated that persona, but he didn't really lean into it until the Thriller aura had largely faded. He clearly relished being considered an eccentric but he didn't seem prepared for how people would react to his romantic overtures to two women who really did consider him little more than a boy only to switch gears and "pursue" Brooke Shields (and I've heard multiple takes on that story,, but Brooke insisted he had no romantic interest in her at all). It's hard to sort through all the rumors. There are members of the black entertainment community like D.L.Hughley who insist that black people heard an extremely different set of rumors and that he was fond of one night stands with black women. He definitely liked wine, and he was certainly not drug-free, although much of that was painkillers and later tranquilizers. He had adult friends for much of his adult life, although some of them were more spiritual mentors than just pals (Rabbi Boteach and Deepak Chopra clearly viewed that as their role). Although I admit that I don't believe every single accuser is lying, that is an endless debate. It's very difficult for people to admit that there could be a mixture of truth and falsehood in everyone's account of what was already a messy situation. But even if Michael was just a big kid at heart, he could have handled things differently. He didn't need to have children in his bedroom (and don't tell me about the setup at Neverland; he did the same thing on tour and at apartments he rented long-term, and he most definitely slept in the same bed, and often), he didn't need to keep them up late eating candy and playing video games, he didn't need to give huge amounts of money and gifts to their parents, just so they could essentially move in with him. This wasn't childlike innocence; this was wanting what he wanted and doing what he had to do to get it.

I appreciate the objective analysis in this video. During 2019 I was really disappointed at the number of people who watched leaving neverland and ignored how one sided it was and assume Michael Jackson’s guilt. I’ve always been skeptical about the molestation accusations leveled at Jackson. They always had the smell of being financially motivated. Of course it’s impossible for me to say with absolute certainty what happened because I wasn’t there and the available evidence isn’t enough to draw a conclusion that goes beyond the shadow of doubt. But at the same time some of Jackson’s choices did him no favors. The decision to settle the 1993 civil case rather than prove his innocence and the time he spent with kids don’t look good on the most basic optics level and they made him appear to be an easy target to an unscrupulous operator. I do think there could be an interesting deep dive into how Jackson became the kinda guy who always felt that affinity with children. something I assume was a result of a childhood spent in the spotlight, which invariably robbed him of a normal childhood and left him as an ultra wealthy man trying to reclaim his lost childhood in his thirties and forties. Everyday people have a particular reaction when wealthy and famous people use their money to gain access to people significantly younger than themselves. When it’s an old rich man essentially buying the affection of a beautiful woman in her twenties a combination of disgust and envy is common. But when it’s a grown man using his wealth and fame to hang out with kids in their tween years bits not hard to frame that as the actions of a groomer. It makes me wonder if anyone on Jackson’s staff urged him to reconsider based on how it might look. Somehow I doubt anyone on his payroll dared to have that discussion with him based on a desire to not compromise their source of income. And even if someone tried it’s unlikely he’d have listened.

He knew that the child had been traumatized enough by his own parents and putting him on the witness stand would only further traumatize the child. It is so disgusting that people would actually emotionally and psychologically abuse their own child/children just for money. What so many people did to Michael Jackson is so heartbreaking.

@@lenkacfk7155 For me, when I watched the documentary for the first time without having any prior knowledge I initially found it believable. But then I started doing research. The explanation they said in the doc of being manipulated and why they changed their story is believable until you actually read court docs. They changed their stories about 6 times over the course of their lawsuits alone. Their stories kept evolving with each contradicting the last over the course of the lawsuit. Like looking back doc after reading court docs, there are many things that really do not make sense and they left out a lot. Like one that that really jumped out to me was Wade’s story of when he was first abused. When you read his and his mother’s depositions on Wade’s first claim of his abused it completely does not make sense.

I graduated with a post graduate degree in documentary filmmaking, and I want to address a common misconception. Many people think that a documentary is supposed to provide all the information on a topic (ie: both sides of a story or all of the research), however the foundation of documentary film is simply non-fictional storytelling. Documentaries are just capturing life or a story as it is happening in real time. In the case of a film that is retelling the story after the event has occurred, you are more likely to have a lot of research and development prior to filming & as a result have more information provided. Documentary films should never be mistaken for or replacing investigations or research.

I don't think MJ looked at little boys and wanted to be with them. I think he looked at little boys and wanted to BE them. He finally got the opportunity to be the child he was not allowed to be when he was a child and took it to another level. He was surrounded by a bunch of well paid "yes" people who did not make him aware of how he was being perceived by the world. Even his family didn't call out his behavior. He had mental health issues that never got addressed. He wanted people to see him as a big, fun kid. He did not understand that he was seen as a grown man who looked silly skipping around his large property like a child. Nobody wanted to disturb their finances by saying "no, you need to cut this out. It's just weird". Not even medical doctors would say "no" to providing fatal doses of drugs. A sad ending to what could have been a blemish free legacy.

I once read an interview with Meryl Streep. She said she was once in the same dressing room as Michael Jackson and she asked him what happened. He looked at her dead in the face with tears in his eyes and told her that he created Neverland so disadvantaged children could have the childhood he never had. He said something like, "I wanted to make the world a better place for children but now its all been ruined by them." And then he started crying and Streep cried with him and they bawled their eyes out in that room. So ever since then, she is a staunch believer in his innocence. After reading this, I believe in his innocence, too. I don't understand why it's hard for people to get their minds around the fact that MJ liked the company of children more then say....women? If anyone has seen or watched biographies of his childhood, they'll come away with one single fact. MJ NEVER had a childhood. He was a money-making machine for his father since 5! Imagine working and being around adults your whole life. He never had sleepover parties, he never had parties full stop. His health was ruined while working (he was burnt pretty badly during the commercial, that is a LOT of pain to deal with). He had all this money and the only thing he really wanted was his childhood back. You don't think after finally getting away from his father and having all this money, he would want to live vicariously through the children that he befriended? That's just my take.

I also think that was a lot of the reason why he did so much to his face with plastic surgery. Or some attempt to "whiten" himself.

South Park actually raised a pretty good point about whether or not he's innocent or guilty when Cartman uses the same arguments people used about him just wanting a childhood and doing so by using children he befriended, with there being nothing sexual at all going on. It doesn't matter why he was doing what he was doing. He was a grown adult with adult responsibilities and children of his own to take care of. His weirdness was not appropriate, whether it was sexual or not, and enabling his behavior because you sympathized with his situation just makes him worse. Whether or not he was abusing children, he needed therapy and professional help, not to be allowed to do whatever he wanted unchallenged. In fact, his weirdness would eventually lead to his death.

He has said several times he is childish and sees himself as peter pan, he made a huge play ranch in his home which says a lot. Even his voice was always that of a child. According to psych when a child doesn't complete a developmental phase healthily, It will follow as an adult. So for that sort of circumstances I don't find it weird he liked to play with children. I mention in more detail below but it is important to note MJ’s popularity began in the 70’s with the Jackson 5. And his Thriller album was a return or a re make of his image . It is important to note this because he was already established and loved by his fans who grew up with him in the 70’s but by the 80’s Motown was fizzling out and MJ had to find a way to belong or define his own image amongst the hip hop culture. MJ was highly intuitive and intelligent and he like all child stars understood that his childlike voice swooned his fans. It is very difficult for any celebrity or artist to breakout of that mold and re define himself and MJ knew it. It is one of the things that made his Thriller album so brilliant . It took 5 years for him to make that album and it broke record sales. It also is the first ever music video release on much music in Canada 🇨🇦 so on so many levels not only the production quality but the timing of the release is historically unique and brilliant. It is important because MJ presented with a lot of the struggles of other child celebrity stars but he re defined himself as a type of teenager or vampire who is ageless and timeless. His identity is such a complex subject because it brings up race, a complex history of culture associated with race and family dynamics. For instance in the US with the history of “ slaves” there are significant traditions, cultural customs that got passed along - often families slept in small cabins and shared a large family bed. Many black artists and writers have went into more detail how this was a “ blessing and a curse “ but like the “ stomp songs” or gospel music it is situations that united black culture. I feel a bit awkward mentioning this as a white woman however I also feel a sense of obligation to mention it because I find it disturbing when others gloss over race and culture with their own hidden bias. Moreover going back to my own Irish roots it was not uncommon for large families to share the family bed. I When done in a heathy way it provided comfort, warmth and family security over the years with industrialized ways and larger homes children started to sleep in their own bedrooms. It is not something that I would believe in post 70’s but again there was not much “ normal “ about MJs childhood and who would tell him different ? With his dogmatic controlling and cruel father and MJ’s stature it makes sense to me that he turned away from the 70’s iconic model of toxic masculinity and I think his fans unconsciously clued into a hey you can be uniquely different and be talented and ok. MJ had a team of intelligent folk working with him too. It has always bothered me why he would continue after getting into so much trouble but he had no one to hold him accountable or to deter his habits. And I do believe he held bad habits. That said I find it highly problematic to try to charge someone after death based on someone who shifted their narrative with a 180 story. I find when people target celebrity or do anything with a false narratives there ought to be consequences if it is proven they are lying and targeting. I am so over seeing peoples lives destroyed by malicious gossip and the ass hat gossip mongers shrug their shoulders or play victim oh darn another pay out scam they failed . I am over seeing gossip mongers get away with casually destroying lives with “ careless whispers”. A term sung by George Micheal who ended his own life. From having personal up close experiences with gossip mongers who are V covert narcissist personalty disorders it makes me curious how many lives are lost to suicide because of their reckless harming ways. And as a society we need to hold them more accountable too

  • @kharper506

    @kharper506

Of course the other side to the coin is anyone who suffered from brainwashing or covert abuse often shifts their lens to see the persons completely differently. And as a survivor myself I get it how much time that can take so I get it but two wrongs do not make it right. You can not charge someone who is no longer able to defend himself. Unless we are talking Epstein who had an undeniable stack of evidence against him ( and died suspiciously )MJ was presumed innocent in a court of law. And that needs to Shane as is. As a survivor of stuff of NA while I could not see clearly and may have even defended someone not understanding who he is at the same time all of my stories are consistent and I have not done a 180. My lens only came more clearly into focus with wolves in sheep’s clothing. And this sounds like a contradiction. What I am saying is if the accusers are victims they will have to heal their wounds much like the rest of us and understand that you own your truth and you stick to it - not because it pays money but because it pays to keep your soul in tact ✌️

But I remember when this case was occurring my husband and I were watching TV, and my husband said, "You know what, I don't think he did it." Then I said, "You know, I don't either." Neither of us are naive or gullible, but I didn't find the accusations credible, and I found Michael Jackson's vehement denial of guilt believable. Now I do think Michael Jackson was weird in a lot of ways (just look at all those plastic surgeries, and the elephant man thing), and I definitely thought those parents showed terrible judgment letting their children stay there overnight. People completely distorted the elephant man thing. Rather than giving the elephant man a decent burial like most humans, the township or whatever group was responsible for what to do with his body decided to put his body on display in some museum or scientific lab for all time for med students to study. Michael was very touched by the elephant man's story, and how he hated being looked at as a freak, etc. and not considered a human being. So, in order to allow him to be buried instead of having his bones and guts forever on display he sought to buy him to give him a burial. But I believe the town or whomever would not allow him to buy the body. I don't know if some other group finally secured a proper burial for him but that is why Michael wanted to purchase him, to give him peace.

There's such things as emotional in€est so he is definitely guilty of emotional p€doph11ia if not physical. So just because you don't believe someone is physically or s ually abusing someone doesn't mean that aren't emotionally abusing them. He was not normal the parents weren't normal for allowing that. Everyone failed those kids. His behavior is incredibly weird and creepy. Even IF they weren't physically or s ually abused that doesn't mean he didn't ruin them emotionally. Not to mention that normal nonp3do people know to not encourage that type of non boundaries behavior with children even if it's innocent. Because you don't want kids to think that's normal and end up preyed upon because they don't understand what is appropriate and not appropriate for an adult to do. You know what I mean? Just because it would be completely innocent if you invited random neighbor kids to sleepovers at your house doesn't mean that's something you would or should do. Because it looks so bad and can have terrible effects on children and make them open to being preyed upon by different adults who do have nefarious intentions. You don't want kids to think sleeping in bed with random strangers is normal because it makes it easy for them to be tricked into the bed of a weirdo. You see what I mean? If you were 100% convinced your child was molested, would you want Money, or would you want that person in prison so they can never do this to another child? The parents of the child were perfectly happy taking the 22M. Now.... what if he were guilty..... I guess that makes the parents Pimps! Shame on them!!!!! I still believe to this day Michael was the victim. He was a strange man that acted like a child in many ways. Immature.
