American Psychiatric Association. (2013). Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders (5th ed.). Arlington, VA: Author.
Antisocial personality disorder is a “Cluster B” personality disorder in the diagnostic and statistical manual, it has seven symptom criteria, three of which are required for diagnosis.
1: Repeated unlawful behaviors
2: Consistent deceitfulness
3: Impulsivity, poor planning
4: Aggressiveness, physical fights
5: Reckless disregard for safety
6: Consistent irresponsibility
7: Lack of remorse
Narcissistic personality disorder is a Cluster B personality disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. It has nine symptom criteria, five of which are required for a diagnosis.
1: Grandiose sense of self-importance
2: Fantasies
3: Special or unique
4: Requires excessive admiration
5: Sense of entitlement
6: Manipulative
7: Lacks empathy for others
8: Often envious
9: Arrogant attitudes or behaviors
Factor 1 Psychopathy (primary) - callous/unemotional, manipulative, pathological liar, fearless dominance, lacking in remorse
Factor 2 Psychopathy (secondary) - impulsive, irresponsible, neurotic, emotionally reactive, criminal, sensation-seeking
There are two types of narcissism: With grandiose narcissism we see characteristics like being extroverted, socially bold, self-confident, having a superficial charm, being resistant to criticism, and being callous and unemotional. Vulnerable narcissism is characterized by shame, anger, aggression, hypersensitivity, a tendency to be introverted, defensive, avoidant, anxious, depressed, socially awkward, and shy.

    1. Guards were asleep. 2. Cameras didn’t work. 3. He broke his neck in what professionals claim only happens in murder cases. 4. He had incriminating information on very prominent people. 5. He claimed to be attacked in his first attempt by his cell mate. There’s way too many inconsistencies to be a suicide.

And they can rewind the camera footage for weeks, Now the guards not going and checking on him is not very rare at all. Guards do that a lot. The video tape is the one thing that really got me and the way that his body was injured. There's no way in hell that they did not record what happened, I think somebody got rid of the tape is what really happened.

If you look at this in the light of Ghislaine Maxwell's guilty verdict a few days ago, and ask 'why didn't she testify in her own trial? - why didn't she name names?' - then one answer that seems obvious is that the same people who killed Epstein got to her while she was awaiting trial - they treatened her by saying 'We got your boyfriend when he was in jail, and we can get you just as easily'. Epstein was murdered - perhaps we should look more closely at the first supposed 'suicide' attempt that he made - it could well have been orchestrated in order to give more credence to his second 'suicide' attempt. By the way - in one of the documentaries recently on this I heard someone use the phrase 'he was suicided'. Is this the first coinage of this verb? - i.e. 'to suicide someone' - i.e. to murder them but make it look like suicide?

RobCarmina She is not going to "name names" at her trial because she was guilty of the charges she was found guilty on. Just yelling out names on the witness stand is not going to change the fact that she was pimping girls out for Epstein. I believe she was found guilty on four charges, not guilty on two charges and there were three charges the jury was deadlocked on. The state can try her again on the charges the jury was deadlocked on. I heard they are considering doing that if she will not agree to testify against anyone.

Hmmm, that settles it for me! One sentence, yet obviously filled with many unspoken words. I'm inclined to believe you know what you're talking about. Interesting tho, corruption to cover up corruption..yet you can't hide forever. The truth always comes out. The people who killed him to protect themselves, they are still running and in danger of being outed. If they do manage to escape accountability in this life..they definitely won't escape punishment in the next. Not to mention the anxiety and fear they must face every single day watching over their shoulder, they don't have true peace or freedom in their heart. This isn't just talking about the big names like Clinton and Prince Andrew, there are many many people involved in covering up the pedophiles or sex offenders, like the Florida DA and other officers and officials that let him get off when he was arrested in the 90's or whenever that was. As a matter of fact, I don't want to mention his name, but there is an ex cop hiding in Russia I believe, because he is in fear for his life due to standing up against this corruption, and having evidence, tapes to prove it. He has made videos about it. Hope he's still alive. But sad, this man lost his American way of life, has a child who misses his daddy, and is on the run because he didn't want to turn a blind eye and submit to corruption, and took his oath seriously. I know there are good cops, this man is one...but they are able to arrest us for illegal activity, yet the rules do not apply to them? Unfortunately, we will never weed out all of the corruption! Even with the whistle blowers. Much of the corruption starts at the root..the top, the ones in control. But they can not escape it forever! The ones who manage to flee justice here...WILL get justice in the second life. I'd much prefer to pay restitution here on earth than pay in heaven. You have a chance to pay for sins here..wake up, have a change of heart and repent, and escape punishment from the one who really matters. So, we may be frustrated with the corruption..but NO ONE...NO ONE will escape it all scott free...even if they think they did...they will see!

Its not that out of the norm for some people to sleep on the job, or tamper with evidence. If you have that much disregard for your job how is it surprising that said person might not follow protocol? Video edits are not invisible. It would be clearly obvious. People get released all the time and guards forget they have inmates in solitary confinement for months it doesn't seem that crazy that they would forget to assign a new cellmate the next day. Repeat offenders are pretty much done for. No amount of money gets you freedom. Might be able to get off easy once but never again. As for having dirt on people, there are repercussions for being a snitch and he was afraid for his life already. I doubt he would make it worse for himself he wasn't stupid. Just because your friend did it too doesn't mean you are let off the hook. Plus even though he accuses someone it doesn't make them guilty. They have to have real proof in court. Why didn't he use a wire or cord? Because it hurts. Wouldn't a murderer go for the more painful easier option rather than tear a sheet apart? As for the neck fractures that doesn't really matter. Everybody's body is different and different circumstances lead to different unique outcomes. People hang themselves from doorknobs he could definitely have hanged himself at four feet. The only thing that doesn't make sense that I question is wouldn't the noose be under his jaw rather than in the middle. However, I don't really understand exactly what position he died in and there are no pictures. But overall I'm pretty convinced this was a self inflicted

I too think he committed suicide because his facade was completely demolished. I think with the 1st arrest he still had social support by the other famous powerful men like Allen Dershowitz. I don't think he had the same support the last time he was arrested. I think his relationship with Wexler also had already disintegrated. The thrived on power and controle but he really loved the reputation he had when from a financial genius who might like young women and teenage girls to a weirdo with a lot of money who would be treated like freak.

I had just finished watching the Netflix show on Epstein when this popped up. I have to say that he was a truly scary guy. When you watch his deposition, his arrogance and his clear disdain for the entire proceeding is so plain on his face. Rolling his eyes like everyone else in the room is an idiot except him. He was in deep and I think a personality disorder is too tame a description of his psyche. I'm more inclined towards Pure Evil. The hair stands up on the back of my neck just looking at his sly, sadistic facial expressions. I'm a nice person but seeing him dead and purply-blue on the stretcher outside the prison gave me immense satisfaction! Thanks for another great topic Dr. Grande ❤⭐

Dr. Grande, I appreciate your willingness to look at all aspects, do the research and watch the Netflix program first. I'm not sold either way on what really happened. I believe justice wasn't served in this life but a truly evil person was finally stopped. As you presented in this video, he's had a pass given to him on every other occasion up until this time. he knew he was facing being held accountable for real and was willing to try to escape justice as evidenced by a previous suicide attempt. As for the security conditions and the guards slacking off, that really doesn't surprise me. I'm coming across as cynical, but historically I've seen lots of excuses for delays in workplace repairs getting done and people slacking off at work too many times. It occurs more often than one would think. On the other hand, even though he was connected, he was facing real accountability so someone connected to him may have been willing to do something about it to stop the house of cards from falling.

Being a former corrections officer, the entire story/plotline of this apparent unprofessional and inept jail doesn't surprise me, however, there are some items which gave me pause. There are specific inmates and areas of a jail/prison where all cameras must be functional at all times. First, pre-trial inmates and areas, because these are the most likely to attempt suicide and see violent behavior. Second, areas classified based on offense. All protective custody, admin seg, medical watch (including suicide prevention), and areas where weapons may enter or exit a location (chow hall and kitchen) or areas where lower risk classified inmates enter or exit an area. The fact this camera was out gives me great pause, because that is an area where maintenance would have and should have been called out to look at the problem and resolve ASAP. By jail/prison policy and the standards set forth in federal corrections practice require the camera to be replaced, a temporary camera be installed, or the inmates in the area where the cameras aren't working be moved to an area where they can be observed. There are simply too many questions based on experience which don't fit in this one. Inept guards don't surprise me much, however, what about head count and utility officers who have as their very job is augmenting what are known as static post officers. Utility officers migrate over the entirety of a building or floor while post officers control the movement of inmates by way of physical mechanisms such as opening doors remotely, the logging of activities in a logbook or journal program in a computer system, and, managing the movements of utility officers such as requesting utility officers to move to cell X for showering, preparing for court, or preparing for medical interview/treatment of an inmate. There is simply no excuse for the failures of this many controls, nor do I find it plausible. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Epstein is actually alive in Thailand, still assaulting children. He had a whole lot of dirt on some very connected and powerful folks. He was also intelligent enough to have a dead man's switch to ensure he stays alive.

In normal circumstances, if a suicide occurred in a jail, and both (1) guards were not duly vigilant, and (2) cameras failed to record... then I would expect severe consequences for the jail administrators. As far as I can tell, nobody at the jail ever got punished for those aggregeous failures. This suggests the failures served somebody's interests... somebody (person or persons) who had power to influence the punishment or absolution of jail administrators.

I tend to come down closer to murdered, and you presented the best information that substantiates my belief. He had too many “outs”, and his extreme personality disorders would lead one to believe he would exploit those “outs”, particularly because of how relatively early in the game he was. Another factor, in hindsight, is the tremendous fight Maxwell put up to avoid conviction. And now, after conviction, it appears she is going to get a new trial, because someone on the jury had been sexually abused early in life. [IF YOU ARE NOT GUILTY, CHOOSE A BENCH TRIAL. I liked the way you offered specifics regarding the pathologies here. I did not know these general DXs had so many specific sub-groups. I found this very interesting . Your video today added to my ( unbeknownst to me) “limited “ knowledge about these mental health disorders.. and I found it very interesting. I don’t pretend to be able to determine whether Epstein was murdered or committed suicide. I do lean ( based only on my feelings) towards murder. There are just too many “people” ( who have already proved themselves unconscionable) who would have been “safer” if he were dead. Again, Too many powerful and evil people with incentive to murder him ie: they would benefit from his death… for me to believe they could not … or would not do it. I was surprised.. when you gave the scenario that if you would have to make a decision.. that you might choose “suicide”. I just don’t know. People like this..may experience Major depression.. but I can’t see him ending his life without a battle to see if he could beat this. I think that “living on the edge” mentality was part and parcel of who he was. He actually took so many chances to get in trouble… then touted them by carelessly leaving details out in the open, not truly hiding them , placing photos on his walls and involving himself with high profile people. This was his “fix”. I just can’t see him ending his own life.. people like that would not consider “giving up”. I would think he thrived on the intensity of the situation and his proving his own abilities to getting over ..again. But who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️

He also stated that the position of the ligature marks on his neck would be much higher in the case of suicide. The weight of your body hanging causes the ligature to rise up higher on the neck. The ligature on his neck was too low, therefore not indicative of suicide. Makes sense to me. And for the right amount of money, folks will do anything they normally wouldn't.

If not familiar with the decade old case, a young woman died in her apartment, she had twenty knife wounds to the back of her head, neck, chest and abdomen, they ruled it a suicide. Fatal wound was a knife in her heart. The autopsy showed two different knives were used, serrated and smooth. Plus she had a dozen or so bruises and a large head gash.

Dr. Grande, I usually fully agree with you. But not this time. His assigned roommate up until this night was a murderer. Quite a scary one. I'm not sure if the cellmate was released from prison the day before but what if the paperwork of this sloppy prison administration was shifted around and falsified to reflect no one being in the cell with him? There are too many reasons for him to have been murdered and very few for him to have committed suicide. Were the guards on duty that night given some kind of knock-out drugs? Were they tested for soporific substances ? And now that we are on the three year anniversary where is there any serious inquiry into what happened. It seems like the powers that be don't want to dreg this up again. Lets see what the NYT mentions about the case this weekend. I suspect they won't cover it.
