when the verdict came in, I was working in a level 5 school with children who had disabilities. Most of the staff were black. I learned the verdict had come in when an uproarious celebration happened throughout the whole school. I asked what happened and was told. I stood motionless, in shock, for I don't know how long. The defense used the race card and boy did it work. I was sickened.

When Mark Furman was used as a witness they played those tapes proving he was a racist. They also had people testify against him. Then it was brought up how Furman could have planted evidence, then I thought to myself maybe Furman did plant that evidence. I believe OJ committed murder now. I believe Furman's racism helped set him free. I'm sure he (Furman) angered millions of Black Americans including those on that jury.

@@sharonhill7363 they’re not disgusting, they were dealing with a different set of facts: namely a racist cop planted evidence, and many of them had heard similar things from close relatives and found it resonated with them. It made them feel like finally a black person got to use wealth and privilege just like all the white people do every day (they only notice the times it worked in a white guy’s favor. They’re used to seeing cops in grade school giving children a police record for things they know the white schools handle in house. It’s a different path they arrived to the trial, not a different set of morals (you can find hatred and evil in every color).

there was a lady driving in her car on San Vicente that night and OJ came flying up the street, in his white bronco, towards his house on Rockingham Road, north of Nicole's house, and nearly crashed into her. She looked right at him and saw his disturbed and panicked face. The reason we did not see her testify was that she sold her story to a TV tabloid show and her witness account was therefore tainted.

So someone was going to get paid to represent him either way, and even if they believe their client is guilty they can't willingly screw their client over. I was utterly astonished and dismayed that no one in or around that entire assemblage had the intelligence to even conceive of that basic fact! I grew up using leather gloves to ride dirt bikes. They were ALWAYS shrunken and hard when I'd first put them on, and that made it a chore. But it didn't take long before my sweat and using them would make them become perfect fitting, soft, and pliable. This is a fundamental quality of leather! Cripes!! And we KNOW that OJ's hands were sweating that murderous night.

Your description of what happened that night was extremely visual to me and your final analysis which made it very clear of his guilt. The way in which you present each case is presented in a way that there is no doubt leaving no questions to be asked, I'm sure by anyone that is listening. The way you describe and analyze each case it's so interesting. I so enjoy listening to all your presentations. I thank you for doing what you do. As you do it so very well.

His lovely chase was on my 39th birthday. Earlier that same day my aunt, my young cousin, and I visited my grandmother at the assisted living facility. Then we went to a dress shop in a nearby mall. And there, we had another experience: Some guy ran into the store, waving a gun around, pushing people down to the floor, and demanded everyone's purses. My aunt, cousin and I dropped to the floor, and his under the display of dresses. And shaken, we returned home, just in time for OJ's crazy car drama (with OJ inside). Most crazy birthday ever!

This comment proves that you weren't paying close attention to the trial. For example, the police took pictures of the gate at Nicole's home on the day of the murder. No blood was shown on that gate in the first photos that the police took. But a month later in the second picture, fresh blood was clearly in sight. O.J. was in jail at the time, so he could not have gone back within that month to put it there. What do you think that it takes time for blood to appear? At the same time, some of O.J's blood that the police took is missing. Another, example of bloody socks was found in O.J's bedroom. A round drop of blood-soaked from the bottom to the top. Someone please put on some socks and step in blood or any liquid and report how the stain will behave. Your foot is in between the top layer and the bottom layer, the stain will not perfectly soak through the foot to the top of the sock. I am not saying that Simpson didn't do it, only he and God knows. But if the police plant some evidence it discredits all evidence. The police messed up the prosecution's case. If it wasn't for the blatant planting of some evidence, Simpson might be in prison right now for murder.

She was afraid of “brown” people after that. I wondered what kind of world she would grow up in.. when I was born in 1959 segregation was still legal in many states. I thought we had moved past this. Years ago I met OJ Simpson's first wife (I guess she was his first wife) through friends with whom I had worked in the film business (they were the actor Zalman King and his wife the artist Patricia Knop). Zal was filming in Tel Aviv where he and Pat were joined by Simpson's wife who had come over to Israel from Rome where she was staying at the Hilton hotel and where Simpson had left her. He had also ordered her to remain at the hotel, not go sightseeing, not become friendly with anyone and not to stray from the hotel grounds. She, however, had gotten bored and hopped on a plane to join her friends Pat and Zal. However, once arrived she became panic stricken and could talk only of what would happen if he were to find out she had disobeyed him. She worked herself up into hysteria that day we were all together and was shaking so hard it was difficult to even understand what she was saying. The upshot was that she turned around and got the first plane back to Rome, utterly petrified of what he would do to her for her disobeyance. And that sort of shows the type of person he was doesn't it?

I don't think it was about football as much as it was about race and revenge against the LAPD. Johnnie Cochran convinced the mostly African-American jury that acquitting his obviously guilty client was a chance to embarrass LAPD on the national stage after years of police brutality. I get why the jury would think that way. I might have as well if I were them. But, let's not kid ourselves. O.J. was guilty as sin but walked free based on things that had nothing to do with the mountain of incriminating evidence in the case.

Haha. Loved the rhymes as well as your thorough analysis of the crime. It was a sad time. For people who weren't around then, the entire country waited for the verdict to be read on live TV. After it was read, news teams across the country showed people's reactions. Reactions pro and con were based almost 100% on the race of the person questioned. OJ, however, had already told people (prior to that) that he didn't see himself in terms of race. He was a rich celebrity and former football star, and that was it. White corporate media (movie makers, advertisers, loved him). The jury acted like they were helping a brother. He/ his lawyers used them. People who were mad at the outcome resigned themselves to being glad OJ was deprived of his major reason for living....to be adored (he became toxic to people in the movie, advertising business).

Thanks for this excellent and efficient analysis. Framing the case around OJ’s personality structure and past violence, as well as the circumstantial evidence, should’ve been enough back then. One more important thing to keep in mind is that the prosecution’s case looks much more convincing to laypeople in 2022 than it would have in 1994-95. Forensic analyses using DNA were brand new at the time, and the public would not have been familiar with this technique. Ironically, I wonder if the scientific language introduced to the jury at the time, perhaps overly technical and allowing for a kernel of doubt (e.g. one in a billion), could have inadvertently manufactured more questions than answers. I’d also be intrigued to see your take on some of the individual members of the legal Dream Team; there were probably some narcissistic traits present beyond OJ, which might’ve helped them empathize with him a little more genuinely. It’s also noteworthy that their main defense was poking small holes of doubt. That they couldn’t offer any reasonable alternative theories to tie all the evidence together is somewhat telling.

Dr. Grande-I appreciate & enjoy your analysis of most of the subject matter you deal with. There are 3 things about this case however that seem to have evaded your conclusion's that OJ personally committed these murders. 1.) When OJ was in Chicago the lapd contacted him by phone. He asked them WHO did it of course, but also he asked how was she killed. They would not tell him. He told them where his guns were located in his home and suggested they confiscate them and test them against her wounds thus eliminating any of his firearms from being used in the crime. He was begging them to tell him how she died. They refused. Did they already have a conclusion in motion? 2.) The day OJ returned home from Chicago and was handcuffed then un handcuffed in his yard and taken down to police HQ's for an initial interview & mugshots, they noticed a cut on his finger which they asked him about, photographed, and it was all over the media. What was not mentioned to the media by the arresting officers and what I am questioning here was when they asked OJ to disrobe so they could photograph his entire body, they didn't find any bruises on him. Would that be possible to commit this extremely physical stabbing of two grown people the night before and not obtain even one little bruise? 3.) OJ was found "not guilty" by a jury of his peers because of a number of explanations which include the fact he did not have the ability to mix in the preservatives found in the blood on his socks and other places it was found. My question Dr. Grande is how does a professional like yourself who is very even and almost unbiased in your monotone reporting go so far in the other direction with this case by stating flat out that OJ killed Nichole? Thanks doc but after viewing this report i'll be watching you and your conclusions with a pretty big grain of salt as I guess we all should. I will continue to watch however to hear your very funny deadpan humor one- liners that you deliver in each episode.
