Lansio Prosiect y Comisiwn Brenhinol, sef Prosiect Treftadaeth Asiaidd Cymru: Dathlu ac Archifo Profiadau Asiaid Ugandaidd
Dewch i ymuno â’r digwyddiad ar-lein i lansio prosiect newydd cyffrous y Comisiwn, sef Prosiect Treftadaeth Asiaidd Cymru a fydd yn dathlu ac yn archifo profiadau Asiaid Ugandaidd yng Nghymru ac yn cynnwys cofnodi lleoedd pwysig o safbwynt diwylliannol, crefyddol a hanesyddol.
Bydd siaradwyr yn y digwyddiad yn rhoi trosolwg o’r hinsawdd wleidyddol a arweiniodd at yrru Asiaid allan o Uganda, ac yn rhannu eu profiadau personol. Byddant hefyd yn rhoi manylion am sut y bydd y prosiect yn ymgysylltu ac yn cydweithio â chymunedau yng Nghymru i olrhain siwrnai pobl o’r adeg y cawsant eu gyrru allan i’w gwytnwch wedyn, ac am sut y bydd yn creu cofnod parhaol ar gyfer Cofnod Henebion Cenedlaethol Cymru a Chasgliad y Werin Cymru fel ei fod ar gael ar gyfer cenedlaethau’r presennol a’r dyfodol.
Y siaradwyr fydd Chandrika Joshi a oedd yn byw yng ngwersyll Tonfannau ac sy’n storïwr; Perminder Dhillon, Arweinydd Prosiect Treftadaeth Asiaidd Cymru; a Christopher Catling, Prif Weithredwr Comisiwn Brenhinol Henebion Cymru.

Launch of the Royal Commission’s Welsh Asian Heritage Project: Celebrating and Archiving the Experiences of Ugandan Asians
Join the online launch of the Commission’s exciting new Welsh Asian Heritage Project which will celebrate and archive the experiences of Ugandan Asians in Wales, including documenting important places of cultural, religious and historical significance.
Speakers at the event will give an overview of the political climate that led to the expulsion of Asians from Uganda; will share personal experiences and details of how the project will engage and work with Welsh communities to chart the journey from expulsion to resilience, and create a permanent record for the National Monuments Record of Wales and the People’s Collection Wales to be available for present and future generations.
Speakers are Chandrika Joshi, ex-Tonfanau resident and Storyteller, Perminder Dhillon Project Leader of The Welsh Asian Heritage Project, and Christopher Catling, CEO of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Wales.
