Darlith Nadolig 2022 y Comisiwn Brenhinol - Ceyrydd Pentir, Llongddrylliadau a Thirweddau Ynysoedd gan Tîm y Prosiect CHERISH
Ers 2017 mae Prosiect CHERISH ar y Newid yn yr Hinsawdd a Threftadaeth Arfordirol, a ariennir gan yr UE, wedi bod yn gweithio ar gyrion Cymru ac Iwerddon yn codi ymwybyddiaeth ac yn gwella dealltwriaeth o effeithiau’r newid yn yr hinsawdd ar dreftadaeth gyfoethog ein môr a’n harfordir - ddoe, heddiw ac yfory. Mae’r prosiect arloesol hwn sy’n dod â thîm cyfun o archaeolegwyr, daearyddwyr ac arbenigwyr morol ynghyd wedi bod yn gweithio yn rhai o leoliadau arfordirol mwyaf eiconig Cymru ac Iwerddon, o Ynys Môn i Ystagbwll ac o Fae Dulyn i Gylchdaith Ceri. Bydd yr anerchiad yn rhoi trosolwg o’r gwaith ac yn sôn am yr uchafbwyntiau, sy’n cynnwys Ynysoedd Gwales a Sgomer yn Sir Benfro, llongddrylliadau a dyddodion mawn yn y parth rhynglanwol ger Abersoch, a bryngaer arfordirol Dinas Dinlle yng Ngwynedd.

Six Years of Discovery at the Edge of Wales: The CHERISH Project
The Royal Commission's 2022 Christmas Lecture - Promontory Forts, Shipwrecks and Island Landscapes by the CHERISH Project Team
Since 2017 the EU-Funded CHERISH Climate Change and Coastal Heritage Project has been working at the very edge of Wales and Ireland raising awareness and understanding of the past, present and near-future impacts of climate change on the rich heritage of our sea and coast. This groundbreaking project, deploying a combined team of archaeologists, geographers and marine specialists, has worked at some of the most iconic coastal location in Wales and Ireland from Anglesey to Stackpole and to Dublin Bay and the Ring of Kerry. The talk will provide an overview and highlights of their work, including Grassholm and Skomer Islands in Pembrokeshire, shipwrecks and peat deposits in the intertidal zone near Abersoch and Dinas Dinlle coastal hillfort in Gwynedd.
